Overview of the multiplayer shooter from Blizzard Overwatch. Overwatch: a new game from Blizzard Entertainment Shooter from Blizzard

Hi all. The Gamebizclub team is in touch, and today we will tell you one story. Back in 1991, three enthusiasts founded Blizzard Entertainment. During its existence, it managed to please more than one generation of gamers. Any project born within its walls automatically becomes a bestseller. It was this studio that gave us such masterpieces as Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft.

Having honed their talent on the timeless classics to perfection, Blizzard decided to offer players something new, namely the new Overwatch game, which we have prepared a review for today.

From this article you will learn:

When did you come out?

The official statement about the work on the Overwatch project was made at the end of 2014. And already on October 27, 2015, the first phase of the CBT started. Open beta testing on PC and consoles took place in May 2016.

However, the darkness of the shooter's fans appeared long before the players were able to fully appreciate it. Here you need to pay tribute to a competent PR-company. Blizzard kept gamers busy with exciting previews and featurettes dedicated to the playable characters.

The best part is that the excitement that accompanied the project at all stages of development did not subside after the official release. On the contrary, Overwatch to this day collects a lot of reviews and reviews - mostly positive. What is the secret of such success? Let's figure it out.

Somewhere we've already seen it

For any project, especially one as big as Blizzard's latest, comparisons with other games in the genre are inevitable. So, to which we devoted a lot of time, even before the start of the CBT, they compared it with World of Warcraft. And there are many such examples.

Overwatch is translated from English as "Watch". According to legend, Overwatch was once a large-scale organization of heroes, designed to protect the world from the uprising of robots. The war of people and machines was suppressed, and the need for a unit of "watchmen" came to naught.

But now, when a new threat looms over the world, he again needs heroes. Doesn't it remind you of anything? In general, the standard plot for a good half of the MMO about the near (or distant) future. But behind this trivial story lies a unique gaming universe unlike any previous Blizzard creation. We advise you to watch the video for the game - it is very interesting.

The first thing to note: Overwatch does not even remotely resemble League of Legends, etc. This is by no means a MOBA - contrary to the statements of some "specialists". There is no pumping within the party, no equipment, and absolutely nothing depends on the level.

If you choose the most similar analogue of Overwatch, perhaps it will be Team Fortress 2. Many people talk about the similarity of the two games. However, the words that Blizzard simply cloned the popular shooter and slightly altered it in their own way are lies and slander.

A parallel with TF 2 can be traced regarding game modes. There really is nothing new here. Basically, there are four of them:

  • Capturing points - there are certain points on the map that must be captured and held until time runs out.
  • Escort - there is a destination, and also - the cargo that the attacking team must deliver there. The task of the opponents is to prevent them from doing this until the end of the round.
  • Control of the object - a battle in several rounds. Both teams are fighting for the right to establish control over a certain point. The side that wins two rounds wins.
  • Point capture + escort - mixed mode. The attacking team captures the cargo, and then delivers it. The defensive team interferes with them in every possible way.

For each mode, the developers have created several unique maps. To date, their total number is 13. Gamers will have to fight in various parts of the gaming universe: from the ancient Temple of Anubis to the multi-story tower of Lijiang.

If you wish, you can measure your strength with gamers of your level in quick game, practice your technique in a battle with the computer, take part in a ranked match, or enter the private mode "Custom game" to fight with friends or just wander around the map.

As a result, the classic (and rather boring) gameplay of an online shooter. However, the picture changes dramatically when it comes to choosing a hero. The character system in Overwatch can be safely called the main achievement of the developers and its main advantage. And again, we advise you to watch the gameplay trailer so that you can visualize what kind of game this is.

On the this moment you are offered 22 diverse heroes, each of which has its own history, its own combat features and a unique set of skills. No typical gnomes, elves, warriors and wizards - nothing typical at all. Looking at this variety, it's hard to believe that Overwatch came out from the pen of the creators of Warcraft and Diablo.

We can say that every gamer will be able to find his favorite hero in the list of characters. There is also a Russian girl Alexandra Zaryanova (aka Zarya), armed with a huge ray gun, and the Bastion fighting machine, and the intelligent lunar gorilla Winston, and the robot monk Zenyatta ... However, this is already a topic for a separate article.

Brave new world

That new game from Blizzard will be incredibly bright and colorful, you can guess after the first presentation videos. The appearance of Overwatch turned out to be recognizable and unlike anything else. There were also spectacular special effects. This is one of those games where you can take down the enemy beautifully.

The developers did not deprive the console versions of their attention. Contrary to popular belief that PC shooters on consoles are just a pale copy of the original product, Blizzard offered PS4 owners and Xbox One the same level of quality, coupled with impeccable visuals and addictive gameplay.

On the xbox game goes to 920p, but on PS4 it calmly gives out 1080p. With dynamic resolution technology, Overwatch automatically downscales to 720p when needed, while maintaining performance at 60 FPS.

Of course, the game does not offer you the flawless level of visualization and realism inherent in modern MMORPG, like .

However, it is basically wrong to compare a shooter with an RPG, since these are different genres that pose different tasks for the players. Agree, who will admire the beauties of the surrounding world when an angry genetically modified gorilla rushes at it at full speed? The graphics in Overwatch are quite cartoony, somewhat futuristic, which is quite consistent with the description of the game universe and its history.

The presence of different levels of detail allows you to run the game even on ancient computers with a dual-core processor released before 2010. To enjoy intense battles - although not at the best settings - a budget graphics card like the GT 520 will be enough.

There is safety in numbers

Overwatch at 100% team game. All the characters are different just enough to create the perfect imbalance. They are conditionally divided into 4 classes:

  • Storm characters that deal the highest damage. Their job is to take out the opponents.
  • Protection heroes who are responsible for defending control points, building fronts and repelling invaders.
  • Tank - the most "thick" and impenetrable. They have armor that reduces damage and high health. They go into battle first to divert enemy attacks from attack aircraft and defenders.
  • Support - heroes with the lowest combat potential, which pays off with the presence of useful opportunities. They can heal, apply buffs and debuffs, etc.

With such a conditional division in Overwatch, there are characters who have absorbed the features of several classes. For example, Zarya, which is essentially a tank, can place protective domes and pull enemies into one point, and the classic Soldier 76 attack aircraft can heal allies.

In general, the abilities of the heroes are well-designed and can be used in battle. And, despite the fact that there are favorites among the players, there are no weak and useless characters in Overwatch. The best option in this case is to assemble a permanent team and work together. After all, the only guarantees of victory here are the correct selection of the composition and verified battle tactics.

The team has 6 members. Each mode has 3 or 4 maps. A huge plus is the ability to change heroes during the game (and this is another advantageous difference from MOBA). All this together gives unlimited scope for strategic research and experimentation.

It is impossible not to mention the fact that Overwatch has already taken its well-deserved niche in eSports. Not even six months have passed since the official release, and the game has already managed to acquire all sorts of tournaments and competitions.

However, this is not surprising, since new shooter by Blizzard is literally made to shine on the cyber scene. The lack of a character upgrade system and the absolute independence of the game from donations allow gamers to fully reveal their potential, relying only on their talents and abilities.

Smart pays once

Before the release of the release version, there was still some hope among the players that Overwatch would be distributed according to the Free-to-Play model. However, she didn't budge. To get the key, you will have to pay a considerable amount, its size varies depending on the version. Overpayment does not provide any significant benefits. Only set nice bonuses, not affecting game process.

The game can be purchased from both the Blizzard Store and third-party sites. We, in turn, offer to buy the game in store. Its prices are lower, and the quality of service is higher than in other stores, plus instant delivery of a license key to your e-mail, plus for the purchase you will receive a good bonus from the store.

So, let's solve the main dilemma: is Overwatch worth paying for? And for what, in general, we pay in the end? The need to spend money in the first place, so as not to do it later, automatically puts players on the same level.

As mentioned above, the internal store of the game does not offer anything to grow in terms of play. Additional investments allow you to purchase skins, graffiti, replicas and many other nice things with which you can create a unique hero. However, all this from time to time falls from gift boxes that are issued for leveling up.

Those who are already familiar with other Blizzard projects will not argue with the fact that the studio continues to actively work on its products even several years after its release. By purchasing the game, you also purchase all future updates and improvements.

And they will anyway. These are new heroes, new maps - and who knows what else will be there? So, in general, the declared amount corresponds to the quality of the product. And the question is not even whether the game itself is worth the money, but whether it will meet your personal expectations.

There are not so many cons for Overwatch. Much less than a relatively new game could have.

First, it's graphics. Not a masterpiece, of course. But prettier than any famous team shooter. The main thing is that everything is in order with the technical implementation.

Secondly, the monotonous gameplay. Again, this opinion, for the most part, is expressed by those who looked at the game with one eye and did not bother to delve into the essence. Yes, in terms of game modes, I wanted something more. But everything is still ahead, and the imagination of the developers is rich, we have already seen this.

Thirdly... And here we can include all the dissatisfied comments about the Russian translation, because of which the nuances of the original voice acting are lost (you can also include English if you want), the lack of companies (and who needs them?).

As the saying goes, you can't please everyone. But no one set such a goal. And if you are a fan of online shooters, you know how to work in a team and are tired of the same type of characters and boring maps, then Overwatch is one of the best products that you can offer. game industry to date.

That's all we have for today. Share your opinions on the game in the comments and send a link to the article to your friends. See you soon. Bye Bye.

During the BlizzCon 2014 exhibition, the well-known studio Blizzard announced their new brainchild - the game Overwatch, which is a team shooter (!) in a cartoon style. In general, we sit down more comfortably and begin to get acquainted closer with the universe of the game.

Well, what can I say, the trailer is well done. Only after watching it, one gets the impression that it would be better if the developers made a cartoon, not a shooter...

And according to the old tradition, acquaintance with Overwatch we will start with the history of the game universe:

Far future. The world is in a global crisis. The authorities cannot control the situation, riots begin on the streets. Everywhere chaos and death. Who will restore the world? And now, when there is no hope anymore, they came, those who are ready to save this world, those who are not afraid to look death in the eyes ... So the detachment was formed "Overwatch" who managed to restore peace and stop the unrest. After completing his mission, he was disbanded, and his heroes scattered around the world and now tell their grandchildren about their adventures.

Several decades have passed. A rainbow shines in the world and butterflies fly. No one remembers the terrible events of the past years. But in vain. Evil begins to wake up and a new threat hangs over the world. Who will save the world, because the detachment Overwatch no more? Yes, the detachment is no more, but the veteran heroes remain, and they will again have to unite in order to save the world.

Now, let's take a brief look at heroes which can be divided into 4 groups:

Storm- the main combat unit of the squad. But do not think that the heroes of this class are just cool shooters. In addition, they have a variety of superpowers. For example, the same Reaper can enter the shadow and instantly move, and the same farra flies with jetpack and, if necessary, can turn into a missile system.

Protection. The main goal of the "defenders", no matter how trite it may sound, is to protect. It would seem that their abilities should be extremely similar, but even here the developers managed to add variety. As an example, we take Torbjorn and widow. The first, running around the map, collects scrap and builds turrets. The second is a skilled sniper, able to see enemies through walls.

support maintains health, improves the characteristics of allies, creates barriers. Also one of the support representatives, Symmetra, obviously outplayed the series, tk. can create portals with Portal Gun. Another thing worth mentioning is the cute blonde Angel, which is able to resurrect dead allies.

Tank takes on all enemy fire. AT Overwatch there are only two tanks: King Kong with glasses or just Winston- a large gorilla with a jump pack, sometimes falling into the rage of the beast; and knight Reinhardt with a large hammer, with which he knows how to arrange an earthquake.

As you can see, the team of heroes turned out to be quite diverse, and each character has unique skills, which is very pleasing. Also, at the moment it is sad that there are only 12 characters. Let's hope that by the release of their number will be replenished with another batch of colorful characters.

By the way, as the developers said, if you want to play with the whole team as a Reaper or a monkey, then it does not matter. After all, you can use the character an unlimited number of times. Only because of this, unfortunately, the zest of battles is lost, when everyone makes his own special contribution to the battle.

So, let's move on to the analysis. gameplay. Two 6v6 teams fight each other in different modes. There are currently two modes available: capture points- one team defends the points, the other tries to capture them; and escort- the first squad delivers a special cargo to the end of the map, the second one prevents them from doing so.

In general, the modes are far from new, and they are all in the same Team Fortress 2, who like to be called a clone Overwatch. But unlike TF 2, the gameplay here will sparkle with new colors. Firstly, the abilities of the heroes will decorate the gameplay, because each of them is unique and unrepeatable. Secondly, in the game you can use everything possible ways moving around the maps: wings, teleportation, jetpacks, hooks, wall parkour, etc. Well, and thirdly, cartoonishness and recklessness are good for the game. And yes, it will be possible to save the world in the future both in the first person and in the third.

As for game cards, there are three of them so far: the Temple of Anubis in Egypt, the Japanese temple of Hanamura and the Kings Row area of London. According to the developers, bloody battles Overwatch will take place all over the world. So we are waiting for the Red Square map, Russian tank Mikhail Potapych and support Matryoshka. And to brighten up the expectations, do not forget

This year's BlizzCon 2014 saw the announcement of Blizzard's first-ever team-based shooter titled Overwatch. The game was devoted to an hour and a half presentation, during which the developers described in detail what players would expect in the new creation of the masters of the game industry.

According to the developers, Overwatch used many of the developments from the MMO game Project Titan, which Blizzard canceled shortly before BlizzCon. An improved graphics engine and PvP-based gameplay migrated to the game, which has undergone global changes.

Overwatch is a team-based shooter that is very similar in concept to Valve's successful Team Fortress 2. As in TF2, Overwatch's gameplay is built around two teams pitted against each other, with players taking on roles depending on the class they choose.

Two have been announced so far game modes: Escort and Capture points. We'll take a closer look at classes and game modes a little later, but for now, let's touch on the part where Blizzard has always been the strongest - the game's story and backstory.

The game takes place on Earth, in the near future, about 60 years later, if you count from our time. Robots became commonplace in the future, but at some point they went mad and began to attack cities, destroying their creators. The nations of the world have thrown all their technology and soldiers to war with them.

Watch

During the global crisis, an international special unit of heroes was created to bring peace to the world. It's called Overwatch. The heroes coped with their task, and in the following decades harmony reigned on the planet.

A new era of research, inventions and scientific discoveries has begun. However, over the years, Overwatch's influence began to weaken, and the division was disbanded. Overwatch is no more... But the world still needs heroes.

If we briefly describe the premise of the plot about the new confrontation, then after the global war and the reign of peace, something happened to the Overwatch division: someone retired, someone continued to do contract assignments... Meanwhile, the situation in the world gradually escalated to for 5 years. The world needs heroes again and Overwatch needs to return again, this time to save the world they once saved.

As you can see by now, Overwatch is a game about heroes. The developers have tried to give each character an expressive appearance and a memorable disposition so that players can understand the character and characteristics of the hero at a glance.

In the best traditions of Blizzard, all characters are easily distinguishable from each other, incredibly beautiful and harmonious: in Overwatch there was a place for futuristic robots, knights in exoskeletons that look like transformers from Japanese cartoons, a gloomy killer personifying death, and many other colorful personalities.

For example, one of the most mysterious characters - the Reaper, can turn into a shadow for a while, teleport, and in battle he wields two shotguns-pistols. Reinhardt - a charismatic knight clad in futuristic armor prefers to use his hefty hammer in battle, while being able to defend himself from enemy attacks with an energy shield.

Angel has the ability not only to heal his teammates, but also to resurrect the fallen in battle. Swedish weapon designer Torbjörn can mount a turret, as well as create an improved type of armor that can be worn by both himself and his colleagues.

Angela Ziegler - field doctor from Switzerland

Blizzard's female characters are especially impressive, they are very harmoniously matched to their roles and classes: Widowmaker is a sniper and at the same time a defense player, while having the special ability to see through walls (hello legal wallhack!). Tracer prefers rapid-fire pistols and bombs, and also manipulates time by moving into the past, thereby teleporting to the place where she was before.

There are 12 characters in total in the game, each of them has its own characteristics, pros and cons, weaknesses and strengths. As you already understood, the heroes in Overwatch, in addition to superpowers, have super attacks (ults), on which energy (mana) is accumulated when killing.

Each hero has his own backstory, each of which will require a few more articles to paint, and perhaps we will introduce you to them later.

Heroes are divided into four classes: Assault, Defense, Tank and Support. Four characters were defined in the stormtroopers, and the rest of the classes received three heroes each. Characters of a certain class have different tools and skills to perform their regular tasks: Zenyatta, unlike the Angel, cannot resurrect her allies, but she can control protective spheres that protect her from damage at the time of restoring health to her companions.

The bastion does not place turrets, but itself turns into its likeness, possessing a protective energy shield in this mode, and can also set mines. Symmetra is able to cover herself and her allies with a strong light shield and create teleports around the map (similar to the functionality that is available to players in Portal).

Despite all the similarities to Team Fortress 2, Blizzard's team shooter is more favorably distinguished by its variety, as well as the variety of gameplay that gives the individual abilities of the characters.

The distribution of heroes by class:

  • Storm: Tracer, Reaper, Pharah, Hanzo
  • Protection: Widow, Bastion, Torbjorn
  • Tank: Winston, Reinhardt,
  • Support: Symmetra, Angel, Zenyatta

Attacking heroes are fast and have the ability to quickly get to the target, and also deal significant damage to opponents. Defensive characters are indispensable when defending points and can create obstacles in the path of the enemy team.

Obviously, Tanks, based on the name of the class, are the most tenacious characters. Their armor reduces damage taken by 50%. Support heroes are able to heal and also apply buffs to help their team.

Having dealt with the main concept and ideas that the authors implemented in the heroes and character classes, let's move on to the most lively and interesting part of the game - the gameplay.

It’s worth saying right away that Blizzard, unfortunately, will not be making a campaign mode in Overwatch, despite the fact that this would be a great way to tell players about the backstory of the world and the journey of each hero. The developers believe that the characters they have made reveal themselves in at its best only when they get together.

Watch

However, it is possible that Overwatch, like other Blizzard projects, will have its own cross-cutting story, which will be revealed to players in the format of long and beautiful videos - like the one that was prepared for the announcement of the game at BlizzCon 2014.

One of the differences between Overwatch and TF2 and similar team shooters will be the vitality of the characters. The developers are going to make the game "less lethal". The main idea is that players die less often, but at the same time, that each death brings tangible harm to the team, thereby forcing players to think carefully about their actions, and not freely rush into battle, hoping for a quick respawn.

Heroes can be changed after each death

By initially choosing a character for yourself before the start of the match, you will not be tied to it. You won't need to keep playing as him throughout the round. Overwatch developers claim that changing roles depending on the situation will only add variety to the gameplay of the game.

Game Format

In closed testing, Blizzard determined that 6v6 was the most appropriate format for Overwatch matches, which is largely due to the number of characters.

With more players in the team, the gameplay was not so much dependent on the individual contribution of a particular player, while, with a smaller composition, one badly playing character could decide the outcome of the meeting in advance, dragging the team to the bottom.

Blizzcon 2014 featured two game modes: Payload and Point Capture. In Escort mode, the attacking team tries to roll the bomb to the right part of the map, and the defending players must prevent them from doing this, and a certain amount of time is allotted for everything about everything.

Watch

This mode may somehow remind you of the classic bomb-laying gameplay in CS, but it is not: in this mode there is no specific "carry bomb", and, apparently, there will be only one specific point where it will need to be delivered.

The second game mode (Point Capture) is a classic team shooter mode in which teams fight for control of the map. One team attacks, the other defends. The goal of the attackers is to capture certain control points, while the defenders' goal is to hold them until the time runs out.

Watch

According to the developers, no deathmatch mode is planned. The authors clarified that deathmatch is not suitable for Overwatch. Blizzard didn't want to focus on how many frags and who will be the best in K/D - more importantly, what players can do together, playing as a team.

Cards

Blizzard has already announced three maps: Kings Row (for Escort mode), Temple of Anubis and Hanamura (Capture points). The maps showcased gameplay that was shown as in the official gameplay video.

Kings Row (Escort map)

Temple of Anubis (Capture Points)

Hanamura (Point Capture)

release date

Can't wait to play Overwatch and feel it from the inside? We'll have to wait, because the beta test is expected only in mid-2015. At the moment it is not known whether the game will be paid or not, however, the distribution model of the game is likely to be similar to TF2.

Myself game client may be free, but for additional character skins or features, Blizzard will charge a "bribe". Among other things, from the presentation of the game at BlizzCon, it became known that players may have the opportunity to create independent modifications to Overwatch.

It is too early to talk about a final decision, but there is still hope for a positive outcome. “We love the modding community - think about the features of the StarCraft and Warcraft III engines,” the developers summed up. We cannot reveal the details, but please believe in us."

You can try to get into the early stages of testing and be one of the first to get access to the beta version of the game right now - you just need to apply on the website

Overwatch is Blizz's heroic shooter, the first brand new toy in years outside of the WWII universe.

No more MOBAs with heroes from there, card products and exploitation of a well-deserved old lady. Absolutely new world - the near future, secret organizations and high technologies.

The gameplay is adjusted to the smallest detail, there is no pumping within the session, there is no ammunition at all, and a hit in the head is almost always death on the spot.

All the characters stand out sharply, precisely in the style of the game- two or three unique skills and an ult. Someone heals, someone destroys the location in the form of a monkey and throws enemies into enemies, someone flies on a rocket, and someone uses a deadly Tesla cannon.

Moreover, the game is tailored for each specific hero, for example, Lucio coolly heals and evades snipers, and the Reaper simply breaks in close combat, when a fragile Chinese climatologist sucks the life out of the enemy with ice icicles.

Seems like you're tired of the game? It is enough to change the hero and she will immediately sparkle with new faces.

Overwatch is an intelligent shooter

  • 6 vs 6 teams - quick matches on luxurious maps in the most beautiful places on the planet.
  • No kill counter or ally stats- complete tasks on the map.
  • Capturing points, tracking the target, holding the object– 3 main tasks.
  • Not hole cards, paid characters and weapons– only your direct hands.
  • 4 types of perfectly adjusted heroes– tanks, support, defense and assault.

Awesome lore - robot heroes in Moscow from the future, small pieces of history scattered here and there around the location, ancient monasteries of Asia and wild Africa.

In terms of gameplay, still more thoughtful- fill up the ult bar, put up shields or ride a rocket, deploy turrets or go into invisibility. This is what a perfect game should look like, no kidding.

  1. No campaign, no replays, no clans- but all this fades before implementation.
  2. cool esports- you can calculate the enemy by the sound of movement and hints.
  3. Heroes with style, rich history, and radically different playstyles.
  4. Huge online - no need to wait hours for the start of the match.

Overwatch is a colorful shooter that almost all players can play. Doesn't need a recommendation.

In the field of team shooters with an abundance of classes, Team Fortress 2 dominates. Despite the fact that it was released already in 2007, it continues to be played great amount human. All this time, players wanted to spit on other team shooters: TF is not overloaded with mechanics and it is incredibly easy to learn how to play it.

However, this good old shooter has become boring to many, so Overwatch attracted a lot of attention even before the release.

Price and gameplay

Blizzard ignored the now popular free-to-play model and decided to distribute the game for a fee. Many have already nicknamed the game Overprice just because of the price of $40 for PC and $60 for consoles.

Along with this, the developers of Overwatch, among other things, added to the game the possibility of additional purchase of containers, from which, for example, outfits for characters can “fall”.

Fortunately, these purchases do not affect the course of the game itself - more affluent players are more likely to pass off their characters as such “mods”, but do not get a tangible head start over ordinary users.

Simply put, Overwatch is a mixture of Team Fortress 2 and any MOBA (“multiplayer online battle arena”). From TF2, the game got the main mechanics and heroes with different roles, from MOBA - a large number of characters and abilities for each of them.

The Blizzard Principle "Easy to learn, hard to master" works great here too. A new player is not loaded with an abundance of characteristics and mechanics. There are no items to buy during the match, pumping and other difficulties. For a successful game, it is enough just to know the abilities of the hero, then study games will go on the rolled. The game modes are also extremely simple - capturing points and pushing carts to the enemy base.

Hero Fair

Since the beta testing, nothing has changed in the game: there are 21 heroes to choose from, divided into four classes. Almost all of them have one weapon, which has its own characteristics and a couple of abilities along with an “ult”. Heroes have absorbed all the best of different games, and not only from team shooters: there is a classic soldier from Battlefield and Call of Duty, and an analogue of Weaver from Dota (Tracer).

To make it even easier for beginners to get comfortable, before choosing a character, the game itself suggests which heroes are missing and which are too many, so making the “right” choice is not difficult at all. On the other hand, you can ignore all the advice and arrange a run with the whole team on one hero, plunging the enemy into shock.

The cards are also unique: there are only 12 of them and they are made to be intuitive. In order to determine the best places for your team to place a sniper, turret and prepare an ambush, it is enough to play a couple of matches at one location.

In total, four game modes are available, among which there are no ranked matches. Of particular interest is the "Brawl of the Week", in which, like in Hearthstone, new rules await players every seven days. By experience card game From Blizzard you can expect absolutely any rules, ranging from the usual increase in character characteristics and ending with the rule to play on heroes of the same gender.

Each hero has his own role and is absolutely unique. Even within the same class, the gameplay for each is different. So, the “tanks” Reinhardt and Roadhog are equally clumsy and slow, but at the same time, the first should be in the thick of things, covering everyone with a shield, and the second should catch spree opponents and cover the rear.

Parsing the game for each of the characters will take a very long time. Everyone has different weapons and skills, movement speed, amount of health, and all this can radically change the gameplay. In Overwatch, the creators managed to do without useless characters: there is a moment of glory for everyone in the game.

The ability to change characters at any time in the game without any penalties is not just called the main mechanics of Overwatch. There can be a lot of reasons to change the hero - starting from the usual fatigue from one character and ending with the changed situation on the map. Just thanks to the abundance and elaboration of each character in the game, there is practically no imbalance. Even Bastion, who caused a wave of indignation during the beta, can be defeated in many different ways.

The advantage of Overwatch is primarily in the heroes: for each there is a counterbalance, for any situation there is a character who will be most effective and will be able to turn the tide of the match. The main thing is to understand the situation on the field and master most of the heroes, and this will take a lot of time and effort.

Despite not being in Overwatch story campaign, each character and location has its own story. There is a cyber ninja, a Korean cybersportswoman in pink fur, Pudge and other no less colorful heroes.

The lack of a plot, unfortunately, negatively affects the life history of the characters: in order to fully understand who your character is, you have to periodically be distracted by Wikipedia.

There are a lot of little things hidden in Overwatch that affect both the game itself and the atmosphere, so it’s better to find all the “pitfalls” on your own.

Outcome

The creators of Overwatch were able to very accurately feel what the ideal multiplayer shooter should be. The game is designed for any player, no matter if it's a beginner gamer or seasoned frequenter of matches. The abundance of characters and the attractiveness of locations may appeal to those who are tired of old shooters, while the game itself helps beginners to get used to it, suggesting the most successful combinations of heroes and not requiring high accuracy when shooting.

At the same time, it is equally interesting to play both for attacking heroes like Tracer and for a support class.

This shooter is absolutely for everyone. For a long time, Blizzard has established itself as a reliable studio, whose games from the first acquaintance capture for long hours. At the same time, to play Overwatch, it is not necessary to wait for friends to make the team as well-coordinated as possible - in this multiplayer shooter, it is quite possible to assemble a decent set with the help of random players.

And of course, the reputation of the studio can be considered not the last pleasant moment - Blizzard will certainly not stop at creating the game and will certainly release frequent add-ons that will dilute the gameplay and add new features.
