What is located on the front line. How to play the "Frontline" mode: an overview of innovations in World of Tanks

The tenth episode of "Front Line" is the last. After it ends, you will have the opportunity to exchange the earned Valor Points for rewards, even if they are not enough for prize vehicles.

You can exchange Valor Points in the prize vehicle selection window in the Front Lines interface, but only after the end of the tenth episode.

From November 25, 04:05 (UTC) until December 12, 04:00 (UTC), you can exchange Valor points for vehicles, gold, and bonds yourself.

If you do not have time to do this, your Valor points will be automatically exchanged for gold and bonds. Exchange Rate: 1 Valor Point = 100 Bonds and 300 Gold.

To get bonds and gold for Valor points, you need to log into the World of Tanks client before February 12, 2020.

What innovations appeared in the tenth episode?

The drop chances of Kraftwerk and Normandy have become the same.

How long will the Frontline mode be available?

The regime will operate from February to November 2019. It consists of ten seven-day stages, one for each month. Look for the exact time of the stages in the regulations on the official World of Tanks portal.

What vehicles can be used in battles in the "Front Line" mode?

The mode is played by players using Tier VIII vehicles, including premium and premium tanks. While it is active, you can rent special tanks that can only be played in Frontline. These are copies of existing combat vehicles. At all stages, the Soviet medium tank T-44 LF is available to players. In addition to it, at each stage it will be possible to rent two certain premium cars. Look for a complete list of equipment in the regulations "Front Lines".

What are the rules for the battles of the "Front Line"?

The basic rules of the regime are as follows:

  • The battle takes place on a 3 by 3 km map.
  • There are two teams of 30 players.
  • Platoon play is allowed.
  • The attacking team must break through the defenses and destroy at least three of the five long-term enemy firing points.
  • Defenders must hold positions and retain at least three of the five defended objectives.
  • Shooting at allies does no damage.
  • Read the detailed rules in the regulations "Front Lines".

What Combat Reserves are available in Frontline in 2019?

Available reserves:

  • Air Strike - Deals minor damage and stuns enemies in the selected sector.
  • Shelling - inflicts significant damage to vehicles in the center of impact, decreasing as they move away from the center.
  • Inspiration - gives an increase to the main specialty to the crew of your vehicle and allied vehicles nearby.
  • Sabotage Squad - increases the speed of replenishment and restoration of the service area. For attackers, it increases the speed of capturing the base, for defenders - the time it takes to block the capture when damage is done to attackers.
  • Smoke screen - temporarily reduces the view of vehicles and disguises vehicles in the specified sector.
  • Reconnaissance aircraft - temporarily transmits intelligence about vehicles in the selected zone.
  • +100% to frontline experience - doubles experience for 1 hour from the moment of activation.

How to get combat reserves for double frontline experience?

From August 12 to August 19, by playing random battles and completing simple combat missions, you could get up to ten reserves. During the Frontline, you can use gold in the in-game store to purchase sets with personal reserves. There are three such sets:

  • for one reserve - 250 units of gold;
  • for three reserves - 750 units of gold;
  • for six reserves - 1500 units of gold.

Each set can only be bought once, so the maximum number of reserves you can buy is ten.

What will happen to the Valor points that remain after the exchange for vehicles, and those that are not enough for the exchange?

Has the economy changed in Frontline Mode?

No, the economy of the regime has not changed.

Why is it impossible to transfer the crew to the T-44 LF without a fine?

Where can I see my progress in the event?

How to get degrees of valor?

You must first reach level 30 in Frontline. After that, in the progress window there will be an opportunity to increase valor. Use it to get the 1st degree of Valor. After that, you can re-pass all 30 levels of the "Frontline" and use the increase in valor each time after reaching the highest level. Thus, you can raise the degree of valor up to the 10th.

Access to the degrees of valor opens gradually. The maximum Valor in a stage is limited by the current stage number plus two (for example, in the 5th stage you can get a maximum of 7th Valor).

How to reach the 10th degree of valor if I cannot participate in all stages?

Starting with Episode 8, you will be able to earn all ten Valor levels in one episode.

What in the player's progress is reset when moving to the next stage?

The player does not lose anything.

Will it be possible to purchase all four prize cars with Valor Points?

No, the earned points will be enough for a maximum of two tanks. Keep this in mind when choosing a technique.

Will I get gold if I already have STA-2 and WZ-111 in my Garage?

No. If you already have STA-2 and WZ-111 in your Garage, you will not be able to exchange Valor Points to get them.

Why didn't I get experience, credits, and a title based on the results of the battle?

Your income and achievements will be canceled if you leave the battle before it ends. We adopted this principle in order to encourage honest fighters who fight to the last for their team.

At the same time, if a player left the battle not on his own, but was “thrown out”, he can return to the battle within five minutes. Then his income and titles will be saved.

Can I complete personal combat missions in the "Front Lines" mode?

No.

Why did I earn so few credits per battle?

The reason is that you used a lot of shells (including premium ones), and the peculiarities of replenishing ammunition at the end of the battle.

When you resupply at a repair point, it's not free. During the battle, it is taken into account how many times you fired and what projectiles. After the battle, only the standard ammunition of your tank is replenished. If you spend more shells in battle than your tank's ammo rack can hold, their cost will be deducted from your total income. This is what leads to the fact that you earn few credits.

Why can't I choose a tank for battle or shoot at the enemy in battle?

This issue may occur when using game modifications. There are no specific restrictions on the use of technology. The main thing is that you choose a Tier VIII vehicle.

To solve the problem, uninstall mods or launch the game without mods through Game Center. And if you use a launcher, then start World of Tanks in safe mode.

How to remove mods:

  1. Close the World of Tanks client.
  2. Download the archive from our website.
  3. Unzip the archive, place the bat-file in the root directory of the game (for example, C:\Games\World_of_Tanks) and run it.
  4. Launch the game client, check the relevance of the problem.

Why didn't I get the Commander-in-Chief medal?

To get this medal, you need to earn in battle not only the rank of general, but also the most experience in the team. If one of these conditions is not met, the reward will not be issued.

If I didn't manage to gain and reset the 30th level of Frontline, will my levels burn out?

They won't burn. Your progress through the levels of the "Frontline" within the same degree of valor remains unchanged and is not reset. For example, if you finished the first episode at level 25, then you will start the game in the second episode at the same level.

Why doesn't the damage that I inflicted on the firing point count?

Only the damage you dealt to other players counts. The firing point is not a player.

"Frontline" returns to World of Tanks again and starts 11 February. The mode has undergone minor and balance changes, thanks to which it retains the main features of the unique Frontline gameplay, but has become even more interesting. In addition, the developers have optimized it, so it should become more comfortable.

Unlike 2018, the new version of the Front Line will be valid throughout 2019. The updated mode will consist of a series of in-game events throughout the year.

Thus, the "Frontline" will start every calendar month and will be available to players for one week. Below we talk about the long-term goals in Frontline and other important changes that will be added to the mode.

Schedule

* Start and end times will be announced later.

There will be a ceasefire in Frontline (from 04:00 UTC to 07:00 UTC), during which the mode will not be available for the current episode.

general description

  • Fights take place between two teams of 30 players each.
  • Battles in the mode are only played on Tier VIII vehicles.
  • To participate in the mode, all Tier VIII vehicles available in the Garage are available, as well as special Tier VIII rental tanks.

Goals

Each team has its own task:

  • The attacking team must break through the defense front and destroy at least 3 out of 5 long-term firing points on enemy territory.
  • The defending team, accordingly, must hold off the attackers until the battle time expires.

The fighting takes place on a map with a total area of 9 square kilometers, which can be conditionally divided into three horizontal lines of defense:

  • The first line of defense, sectors A, B and C are the starting points for the attacking and defending teams.
  • The second line of defense, sectors D, E, and F - combat operations are transferred to this part of the map after the capture of one of the sectors of the first line of defense.
  • The third line of defense is a section of the map that is not divided into sectors, where the final part of the battle takes place. It is here that the main targets are located - large-caliber guns, the destruction of which leads to victory. These weapons are immobile and do not fire, and the attackers must destroy them in order to win.

At the start of a battle, teams are automatically assigned 10 tanks to each of the three sectors of the first line of defense.

Each of the sectors of the first and second lines has a base. The capture of the base by the attacking team leads to the capture of the entire sector and the opening for the attack of the one following it vertically.

For example, by capturing a base in Sector A, the attacking team will only be able to capture Sector D.

Capturing at least one of the sectors of the second line opens up access to the third line and makes it possible to attack the main targets - towers of large-caliber guns.

If the attacking team manages to gain a foothold in the sector and start capturing the base, then the capture is carried out according to the familiar rules, but with some additions:

  • Capture is knocked off the tank only after it is destroyed.
  • Dealing damage to a tank or module suspends base capture by that tank for 5 seconds.
  • The more bases of the first line are captured, the less capture points will be required to capture the second. If one base of the first line is captured, then 450 capture points will be required to capture the base on the second line. If two bases are captured, then 250 capture points will be required. Capturing all three first line bases will reduce the required number of capture points to 150. Remember: 1 capture point equals 1 second in the circle.
  • It is impossible to return the captured sector back.

If a sector is lost, the defenders must leave the lost sector within 1 minute. At the end of the minute, all remaining tanks of the defending team will be hit by aircraft.

Similarly, the tanks of the attacking team that enter the sector of the second line of defense without capturing the previous sector will be attacked from the air in a matter of seconds.

The destruction of the main targets becomes possible after the attackers capture at least one sector of the second line.

The main targets are five huge towers of twin large-caliber guns:

  • The durability of each target is 3200 units.
  • Frontal Armor/Turret: Cannot be penetrated or damaged by HE shells.
  • Side armor: 165 mm.
  • Stern armor: 90 mm.
  • Vulnerabilities: doors (70 mm) and vents (25 mm).

The base duration of a battle in the "Front Line" mode is 12 minutes. This time can be increased due to the successful actions of the attacking team:

  • Capturing sectors A, B, C adds 2 minutes to the battle time (for capturing each sector).
  • Capturing sectors D, E, F also adds 2 minutes to the battle time (for capturing each sector). Capturing the last zone adds 4 minutes to the battle time.

Overtime

  1. If at the end of the battle time at least one player from the attacking team is in the base capture circle, the overtime system is activated.
  2. Overtime lasts as long as the capture of the base lasts. The maximum time is 90 seconds. If during this time the base has not been captured, the attacking team loses. If the hold is reduced to zero during the overtime, the attacking team loses, the overtime ends ahead of schedule. Overtime is disabled if no attacker captures the base.

Description of other game mechanics

The Frontline mode will feature the mechanics of respawning tanks in battle, as well as service zones and combat reserves, the use of which can turn even a losing situation in your favor.

Respawn in battle

  • At the beginning of the battle, each player has one vehicle to respawn.
  • Every five minutes after the start of the battle, each player receives one additional respawn opportunity, however, the player cannot accumulate more than two respawns.
  • The total number of revivals is not limited.

The sector, where there are already 12 allied vehicles, becomes unavailable for revival. Only one SPG can be in one sector. When playing with an SPG, you will not be able to respawn in a sector where there is already one SPG.

After the destruction of the tank, if you have the ability to respawn, a screen appears on which you can select a vehicle suitable for battle and choose a respawn location in any of the zones controlled by the team.

Due to the sheer size of the map, we've added another feature that will help you quickly change direction in combat. This can be useful, for example, when you've been finishing off an opponent's resistance on a flank by capturing the last sector of defense, and now you need to quickly move to the other flank to support the onslaught.

Pressing the key O(in the English layout it is J), you will be able to switch to vehicle selection mode. Yes, in this case the tank will self-destruct (after a short countdown), but sometimes such actions can lead to victory.

combat reserves

A total of six Combat Reserves can be used in Frontline Mode.

Each vehicle class has a certain number of slots in the Garage for combat reserves:

  • One slot for medium/heavy tanks
  • Two slots for tank destroyers
  • Three slots for light tanks and self-propelled guns

Such a distribution will allow each piece of equipment to influence the development of the battle: light tanks, for example, will not only be able to effectively reconnoiter the battlefield, but will also interact more closely with the allies due to the greater number of combat reserves.

Combat reserves are selected only in the Garage, before the start of the battle.

Slots for combat reserves are located on the left, in the same part of the screen as equipment with regular consumables.

Each Combat Reserve has 5 levels, which can be upgraded using Combat Reserve Points earned by progressing through the Frontline levels, which will be discussed below.

The principle of operation of combat reserves (efficiency values are indicated for maximum level V):

airstrike

Activates a bomber that drops 60 bombs in an area of 50 by 30 meters. Vehicles in the airstrike sector receive minor damage and a stun effect for 26 seconds. Airstrike is most effective against fast moving targets or against large groups of enemy vehicles. An additional stun effect will also bring the player a certain reward.

Damage dealt by this reserve will also award experience and credits.

Shelling

An artillery battery fires a volley of 20 shells over an area of 10 meters for 5 seconds. Vehicles in the center of the strike receive significant damage, while targets at the edge of the zone are relatively safe. Shelling is most effective for dealing maximum damage to slow targets.

Damage dealt by this reserve will also earn experience and credits.

sabotage squad

Provides a permanent 50% bonus to replenishment speed and 50% bonus to service area recovery speed. Attackers receive a 100% base capture speed bonus. Defenders block base capture for 10 more seconds when damaging the attacking player's vehicle. Additionally, defenders can block the capture of the base by driving into the capture circle. The combat reserve "Sabotage Squad" is most effective with allied vehicles for attacking or defending bases, for frequent use of replenishment zones.

Inspiration

Increases the bonus to the primary specialties of the player's and allies' crew by 15% within a 40m radius for 60 seconds. If the vehicle leaves reserve range, Inspire remains active for 10 seconds. Inspire stacks with all existing crew member bonuses, so it is most effective when paired with premium gear and equipment (such as the Extra Pike and Improved Ventilation). Experience is gained by those players who have activated Inspire. If more than one player activates this Combat Reserve, the player who activated it first gets the bonus.

reconnaissance aircraft

A reconnaissance aircraft conducts surveillance over a zone of 300 x 750 meters. Scout flight lasts 15 seconds; all vehicles in the area are detected and remain visible for 30 seconds. The scout plane is most effective in areas near the player's car, which is not supported by allied scouts. All information about the observed enemies is sent not only to the player who activates the reserve, but also to all other allies within the framework of his radio; he also gains experience for damage dealt by allies.

For damage inflicted by the player's allies by glare, experience and credits will also be awarded.

smoke screen

At the indicated zone of 200 by 50 meters, 5 smoke grenades are fired. The smokes last for 50 seconds; they reduce visibility and mask cars in the specified sector. Vehicles in a smoke screen have 2/3 of the view. A smokescreen is most effective for shielding allies from enemy fire or, if necessary, crossing a fired area in greater safety. For damage caused by allies in the player's smoke, experience and credits will also be awarded.

Service zone

In each sector on the map, in addition to the base capture circle, there is a service area. The service area restores the tank's durability, damaged modules, relieves shell shock of crew members and replenishes ammunition.

  • If the player takes damage while repairing, the service area will be blocked for 5 minutes.
  • After the tank is restored to 100%, the service area becomes inaccessible for 2 minutes.

At the end of the battle, the player will pay the full cost of the restored durability service area, but not more than 100% of the vehicle's durability.

For instance:

  • The player has repaired three times 20% of the machine's durability - he will pay 60% for repairs.
  • The player has repaired 40% durability three times, but at the end of the battle he will pay not 120%, but only 100%.Giventhe rule will apply even if the player's car was destroyed during the battle.
  • Thus, repairs that exceed the strength of the tank are free.

At the same time, if the number of spent shells exceeds the capacity of the ammo rack, the write-off will occur for the total number of replenished shells from the total income for the battle.

Consumables work on the principle of random battles: they will be deducted for a single use in a battle, regardless of how many times the consumable has been used.

rental cars

NOTE:
All rental vehicles are available only for the "Frontline" mode, and they cannot be used in random battles or other game modes.

To take part in battles on the Frontline, a player only needs to have at least one Tier VIII vehicle in the Garage.

However, for a more comfortable game in the mode, it is recommended to have as many vehicles as possible: after being destroyed in battle, the vehicle is not available for recovery for several minutes. If you have suitable vehicles in the Garage, select another available vehicle and return to battle after the 30 second countdown during respawn.

If your Garage does not have enough or no suitable Tier VIII vehicles, you can rent them. Rental equipment will be available for one episode or for all remaining episodes at once.

All rental cars are copies of existing cars with the same characteristics.

Each episode, three cars will be available for rent. In total, 11 cars will be available for rent.

The base rental vehicle for the regime will be a copy of the researchable Soviet T-44 medium tank. This tank will be available during all episodes and will not be replaced by another vehicle. The remaining ten rental cars will be copies of existing premium cars. Two rental cars will be available per episode. After the fifth episode, all pairs of rental cars will be repeated again.

Rental tanks will be equipped with "virtual" slots, and they will remain in your account until you manually delete them. Accordingly, you will need to remove all equipment, shells, consumables, crew, etc. manually if you plan to remove the tank.

Rental vehicles will be available even if your Garage already has the original version of the vehicle. Thus, your account can have two identical tanks - T-44 and T-44 LF.

You cannot rent the same car twice. For example, you can only have one T34 LF on your account.

The total number of vehicles is not limited; thus, your account can have up to 11 rental tanks.

There are 4 types of lease:

  • Rent for one episode when you rent a car for the first time. In this case, you get the car along with the crew.
  • Rent per episode when you have already rented a car and the rental period has expired. In this case, the vehicle remains in your Garage and the rental period can be extended, while the cost of the extension will be lower than the original rental price. This operation is possible even if this car is not available for rent in the current episode. In this case, the crew is not issued again.
  • Rent for all remaining episodes. In this case, the car will be available for all episodes, and the cost of renting a car for a week will be the most profitable. The rental price decreases with each completed episode*.
  • Weekend offer. Two days before the end of the episode (Saturday and Sunday), if this is the first rental, the car will be available for rent for the remaining two days plus the entire next episode. The total rental period can be 8 or 9 days.

*This option will not be available from episode 6 for the tank T-44 LF and from episode 8 for all other rental cars.

This offer is perfect for those who prefer to play on the weekend.

Price at the beginning of the season: with each season, the rental price is reduced by 10%. For example, in episode 6, the cost of renting a heavy tank will be 2000 gold.

The T-44 tank is rented with a 75% trained crew when renting for a week, and with a 100% trained crew when renting for the entire 2019 season.

Premium cars are rented with a free crew trained up to 100%.

If necessary, you can transfer an existing or better trained crew to the rental equipment.

End of weekly rental

After the weekly rental period ends, the vehicle will remain in your Garage, but will not be available for battles.

You can remove the rental car from your Garage or extend the lease. To do this, click on the machine with the right mouse button and select the desired action from the menu that opens. These operations are also available in the Warehouse (click on the machine with the right mouse button and select the desired action).

You can renew a car rental even if that car is not available for the current episode.

Thus, by episode 5, you can have all 11 rental cars on your account.

Discounts on original versions of rental cars

All gold spent on rentals will be accumulated in a special account that can be used to receive a discount on the purchase of the original version of any rental car.

The rental equipment and the period of its rental do not matter, all the gold spent will be stored in the account.

The amount of the discount is determined by the following factors:

  • The amount of gold that has accumulated in the account
  • The cost of the original version of the car

The amount of the discount will depend on the amount of gold spent on rent. The more gold you spend, the more discount you get. The discount will only be calculated in gold.

Gold that was not used to receive a discount remains in the account and can be accumulated further to receive further purchases.

Gold on the account that was not used to receive the discount will be lost after the end of the season.

*If you want to buy the original version of the Pz. 58 FL, Pz. 58 Mutz will be credited to your account.

NOTE:

The ability to activate the discount will appear in one of the following episodes. However, gold will be credited to the account immediately.

Economy

Five simple but important points: how experience, credits are accrued, and the cost of repairs and shells is written off.

  1. Repairs are paid for each destroyed tank: no matter how many times you are destroyed in battle, the cost of repairs will be written off once.
  2. Payment for consumables and shells is also debited for everything that was used in battle. Additional payment is charged only for replenishment of equipment.
  3. Credits are awarded according to similar formulas as in random battles. There is a slight difference: due to b O Due to the longer battle time and the potential opportunity to go into battle with a large number of tanks, we have introduced corrective coefficients that will save you from going into a complete loss of credits in most cases. The mode is interesting, and we want to give the opportunity to immerse yourself in it without fear of going broke.
  4. Experience is accrued in the same way as in random battles, plus additional coefficients for ranks. Experience is distributed among all tanks that participated in the battle, depending on the results that you showed on each tank.
  5. Bonuses from personal reserves, clan payouts (30%, as in random battles), from premium equipment - all this works in the "Front Line".

NOTE:

We are ready to encourage only honest fighters who fight for their team to the last, regardless of the situation in the battle. Therefore, profitability adjustment coefficients work only for those players who remained in the ranks until the end of the battle.

If you leave the battle before it ends, the profitability will be canceled and the cost of all repairs will be written off in full. Players who are "kicked" out of the game due to technical issues will have the opportunity to return to the battle within 5 minutes. Once returned, no adjustment coefficients will be applied to the player.

Disabling fire on allies

We've collected and reviewed your feedback regarding the disable for damage to allies after the launch of Frontline last year. And we saw that our idea was liked by the players and favorably influenced the gameplay of the mode. Therefore, we've made the decision not to include taking damage from allied fire on Frontline.

Rewards for successful actions in battle

Players can receive rewards for certain effective actions in battle:

"Stormtrooper" "Iron Shield" "Commander-in-Chief" "Professional" "Assault Platoon"
Playing as the attackers, earn 100 base capture points or destroy an enemy heavy-caliber weapon. As the defenders, deal at least 1800 damage to enemy vehicles located in base capture zones or within 150 meters of the main targets. Earn the most experience per battle and get the rank of general. Cause damage as well as assist in the destruction by transmitting intelligence or shooting down tracks, for a total of 10,000 units. The platoon must destroy at least 20 enemy vehicles in one battle. Each member of the platoon receives this award.

Long-Term Goals and Valor Mechanics

This time, Frontline will not be a short in-game event, but a full-fledged in-game season, consisting of 10 episodes that will last almost the entire year of 2019.

For successful actions in battles on the Front Line, you will receive a number of rewards: credits, consumables, pre-battle instructions, and personal reserves.

The most active and successful players will receive reward tanks, bonds, in-game gold and a unique Tier IX secret tank.

Season 2019 Episodes

Frontline mode will be available for one calendar week, every calendar month, from February to November 2019. The weeks that Frontline is available will be referred to as episodes; the mode will be unavailable between episodes. Thus, in the 2019 season, players will have access to 10 episodes, each lasting one week.

Episode dates will be announced as the season progresses. You will be able to study the schedule of the current and next episode and plan your participation in the mode in advance.

Frontline experience and your development in battle

There is a rank system in the Frontline mode. There are only six ranks, from private to general. Your rank depends on the amount of experience earned in battle, which depends on your effectiveness in battle. Your main goal is to capture/defend the zones and destroy/defend the main targets. The total experience earned on all vehicles that participated in the battle is counted. The more experience you earn, the higher your rank will be.

You increase your rank right in the battle and you can follow your progress.

The resulting rank determines coefficient to your experience.

The experience coefficient is applied after the battle to the total amount of net experience earned on all vehicles that participated in the battle.

Frontline levels

You earn ranks (from private to general) throughout the battle. At the end of the battle, depending on the rank you have reached, you will receive front-line experience frontline experience points ) . Frontline experience is used to enhance your level "Front Lines" and your development in the 2019 season.

1 level 0 points* Level 11 5000 Level 21 15700
2 level 300 points Level 12 5800 Level 22 17100
3 level 650 Level 13 6700 Level 23 18600
4th level 1000 Level 14 7600 Level 24 20100
5th level 1400 Level 15 8600 Level 25 21700
6th level 1800 Level 16 9600 Level 26 23300
7th level 2300 Level 17 10700 Level 27 25000
8 level 2900 Level 18 11900 Level 28 26800
9th level 3600 Level 19 13100 Level 29 28600
level 10 4300 Level 20 14400 Level 30 30500

* Important: each number is the total number of points needed to get a new level. For example, to go from level 27 to level 28, you need to earn 1800 frontline experience points.

Valor Mechanic

Once you reach Frontline level 30, you gain the ability to use a special Valor mechanic.

When using this mechanic, you reset your Frontline level and Combat Reserve levels and get the opportunity to go from level 1 to 30 of the Frontline again and earn all the rewards again.

Valor levels and development in the 2019 season

Using the Valor mechanic, you can not only reset your Frontline level, but also increase your level of d overgrowth.

A total of ten levels of valor are available. Upon reaching each level of Valor, you will receive rewards, including bonds, gold, medals, and stripes.

Access to the degrees of valor opens gradually, as you progress through the episodes.

The maximum Valor rank is limited to the current episode number plus two ranks.

For example, in the first episode you can reach the third degree of prowess, in the second episode - the fourth degree of prowess, and so on.

Thus, in episode 8, the most active and productive players will already be able to reach the level of prowess X.

On the other hand, progression through Valor levels is not limited by time or episode schedule. For example, you start the game in episode 5. You can catch up on Valor levels (from I to V, and even to VII (V + II)) at any convenient time, starting from the first degree of Valor.

This mechanic will allow you to plan your game activity throughout the season. For example, you can catch up on your Valor progression and skip one or two episodes of Frontline when you are unable to participate in any of the stages of the mode.

It is important to note that your progress through the levels of the "Frontline" within the same degree of Valor remains unchanged and is not reset. For example, if you complete an episode at level 25 of Frontline, you will start the game on the second episode at the same level.

In addition to the main rewards, each level of Valor earns you Valor Points, which can be exchanged for a premium tank. After reaching the maximum possible degree of valor, progress through the levels of the "Front Line" stops, it will not be possible to upgrade to the 29th or 30th level again and reset it immediately with the start of a new stage.

Prowess and Prize Techniques

Awards

In the 2019 season, each player will have the opportunity to receive many different rewards. Offers:

  • Rewards for reaching each level of the front.
  • Rewards for reaching each level of Valor for those who want to reach all levels in each episode of the game event.
  • And finally, the prize technique for the most persistent and skillful players who repeatedly proved their skills throughout all 10 episodes of the season.

Exchange Valor Points for Premium Vehicles

Each degree of valor brings a certain number of valor points. The higher the degree, the more points it brings. Valor points can be exchanged for premium vehicles. In total, 4 cars will be available for exchange.

  • STA-2 is a well-known Tier VIII premium tank. Good mobility, firepower and excellent gun depression make the STA-2 an excellent support vehicle.
  • The WZ-111 is a Chinese heavy tank with high burst damage, good protection, and rational armor slope angles. Able to give a worthy rebuff to both medium and heavy tanks.
  • EMIL 1951 is a Tier VIII premium tank, which is currently only available as a front line reward.
  • Secret car IX level. Its name, type, nation, performance characteristics and other features are classified. This vehicle will only be available if you reach Valor X and accumulate the required amount of Valor Points.

Details about EMIL 1951 and the secret car will be revealed as the season progresses in a future episode.

The cost of all cars is different. Increase your progress in the "Frontline" mode to get a more attractive car.

If you already have STA-2 or WZ-111 on your account, you will not be able to exchange Valor Points to get them.

At the end of the season, remaining Valor Points can be exchanged for Bonds or Gold. The exchange will be possible only if their number is not enough to purchase one of the award cars. The exchange rate will be announced later. Follow the news carefully.

NOTE
Choose wisely, as your total Valor points will only last for two cars!

Points and pumping combat reserves

In addition to the reward for reaching each level of the front, you receive special glasses, which are necessary for pumping combat reserves.

Unlike progress through levels, which is automatic, you will need to open and upgrade combat reserves on your own.

Performance in mode

In the new season, we have optimized the map to ensure stable performance. You will be able to notice a performance boost compared to the last run. However, battles in Frontline mode are more demanding on computer performance than random battles.

This is due to several key features of the new mode, including the huge size of the map, a large number of objects and vehicles on it, as well as the activation of combat reserves.

As a result, in some cases, there may be problems with the FPS level and texture quality.

NOTE:

The 2019 season of Frontline Mode is a full-fledged game event with many mechanics, balance tweaks, and variable values. During the season, a situation may arise when it will be necessary to make some changes (for example, based on balance considerations). Such edits may appear throughout the season. We will announce all changes to the regime in advance on our portal - stay tuned.

See you on the battlefield!

The developers of World of Tanks answer the most frequently asked questions about the Frontline mode.

1) Has the economy changed in the “Frontline” mode?
The economy of the regime did not change.

2) Why is it impossible to transfer the crew to the T-44 LF without a fine?
This tank, like other rental vehicles for the Front Line, is a copy of the original vehicle. Since the original T-44 does not have such an opportunity, the T-44 LF does not have it either.

3) Where can I see my progress in the event?
To do this, in the Garage, to the right of the “To Battle” button, select the “Front Line” mode. An icon will appear in the top center, reflecting your level of “Frontline” and the level of valor. If you move the mouse pointer over it, a tooltip will appear.

4) How to get Valor levels?
First you need to reach level 30 "Front Lines". Upon reaching level 30, the progress window will have the opportunity to increase prowess. Using it for the first time, the player receives the first level of prowess. After that, you can go through all 30 levels again, each time after reaching the 30th using an increase in valor. Thus, every time you can raise the level of valor higher and higher, up to the tenth.
Valor degrees are unlocked gradually - the maximum degree of valor in a stage is limited by the current stage number plus two degrees (for example, at the time of stage 5, you can reach a maximum of 7 levels of valor).

5) How can I reach valor level 10 to get all the rewards if I can't take part in all the stages?
Starting from stage 8 (episode), in theory, you can earn all 10 levels of valor per stage.

6) What in progress is reset when moving to the next stage?
When moving to the next stage, the player does not lose the progress made earlier. No frontline levels, no prowess levels, nothing else.

7) Will it be possible to purchase all 4 cars for Valor points?
No, the earned Valor points will last for a maximum of two tanks. Therefore, consider this when choosing tanks.

8) Will I get gold if I already have STA-2 and WZ-111 in the hangar?
If you already have STA-2 or WZ-111 on your account, you will not be able to exchange Valor Points to get them.

9) What to do with Valor points that will remain after the exchange for equipment, or if they were not enough for the exchange?
At the end of the season, remaining Valor Points can be exchanged for Bonds or Gold. The exchange will be possible only if there are not enough points to purchase one of the reward cars.

10) Why was I deprived of experience, credits and titles at the end of the battle?
This happens if the player left the battle ahead of time - we are ready to encourage only honest fighters who fight for their team to the last.
At the same time, if a player did not leave the battle on his own, but was “kicked out”, he can return to the battle within 5 minutes, and then he will not be deprived of his income and rank. Once returned, no adjustment coefficients will be applied to the player.

11) Is it possible to perform LBZ in the "Front Line"?
The performance of personal combat missions in the "Front Line" is not provided.

Great news for World of Tanks veterans: the much-loved Frontline game mode is back. According to the established tradition, the developers have retained the general concept of the game mode, but have noticeably changed the balancing and finalized the visualization.

In addition, now the length of the "Front Line" will take a full calendar year. The mode will be divided into several stages, which will start at monthly intervals. Each tour will last a week, covering the gaming audience as much as possible. It's time to get acquainted with the updated "Front Line" in more detail.

Frontline episode schedule

So, the season starts on February 11 at 07:00 Moscow time. The first episode will end on February 18 at 04:00 Moscow time. After that, players will be allowed to rest until March. The second stage will spill from March 11 to March 18.

The further schedule is not yet known, but given the general concept, it can be assumed that the Front Line will start on the 11th day of each month. This in-game event will end in November.

General provisions

Consider the basic conditions of the game mode. We will not delve into the details so as not to spoil the impression of the game. Let's just go over the basic rules.

  1. combat missions. Each team has its own goals. In particular, one team breaks through the line of defense in order to eliminate at least 3 stationary firing points, and establish control over key areas. The second team acts as defenders, and keeps the defense on the flanks. Battles take place in a square with an area of 9 km2, which is conventionally divided into 3 defensive lines.
  2. Overtime mode. This option is activated automatically if at the end of the allotted time at least one of the tanks of the attacking group is located in the capture circle. According to the rules, the extra time is given a maximum of 90 seconds. Overtime can be interrupted ahead of schedule if you knock down the capture to zero. If the attackers do not capture the control point in overtime, they lose.
  3. Respawn mode. Game reincarnation is credited one for every 5 minutes spent in battle. In total, no more than 2 revivals can be received at the same time.
  4. Reserves. The number of available reserves depends on the vehicle class. In particular, it will be possible to use: smoke screen, inspiration, air strike, reconnaissance aircraft, shelling, sabotage squad.
  5. Maintenance. Repair zones are provided on the map, where you can heal the crew, repair damage and replenish BC.

What you need to know about renting at Front Line

Let's note right away that the Front Line is opened exclusively for Tier 8 vehicles, so to participate in the event, you need to have at least one such vehicle in your hangar. Ideally, there should be several “eights”: after death, the tank is frozen for several minutes.

For players who did not have time to upgrade their vehicles to level 8, the developers offer to rent tanks. It is important to understand here that rented cars are adapted exclusively for the Front Line, so they cannot be used in other game modes.

Rental tanks are an exact analogue of their prototypes, they completely copy the tactical and technical characteristics and armor indicators. The rules allow renting for one stage or until the end of the gaming event.

At each stage, 3 tanks are offered for rent, in total there will be 11 such vehicles. The T-44 is considered the basic equipment. This tank will participate in all stages, and it is not supposed to be replaced by other vehicles. Other military equipment will change periodically.

Slots for rented tanks are included, renting is allowed even in situations where the prototype of the vehicle is already in the hangar. For example, if a player has a T-44 and decides to rent the same tank, the vehicle will be called the T-44 LF. At the same time, it is impossible to rent the same tank twice during one game stage.

In total, 4 rental options are offered, so each of the participants can choose the best option for themselves. It looks like this:

When renting equipment, it is important to consider a number of nuances:

When will the lease be completed in LF?

If the rental period expires, the car continues to remain in the hangar. At the same time, it is important to understand that the tank remains a lifeless ballast, inaccessible to any battle mode. When this happens, the player is left with two options:

  1. Extend the rental of equipment for a new stage;
  2. Remove the tank from the hangar.

To select any of the available options, you need to right-click on the tank and perform the desired action.

Rental discounts

This possibility is provided for by the rules of the game event. In particular, if a player drives any of the premium tanks during the Front Line and wants to purchase a real version of military equipment, he can count on a good discount.

The amount of the discount is determined on an individual basis. The underlying factors in this matter are:

  • How much gold was spent on renting vehicles in the seasons of the game event;
  • The cost of the vehicle that the player is going to buy.

To realize this possibility, a special bonus account will appear in the game client, where the gold spent on equipment rental will be accumulated. Note that you cannot use these funds, an account is needed only to determine the amount of a personal discount. The mechanism works simply: the more the user has spent, the more profitable the purchase will be.

Here it is necessary to clarify that this “golden piggy bank” will be valid throughout the entire game event. The discount is calculated only in gold equivalent, you can use this privilege immediately upon completion of the stage in which the equipment was rented.

Let's add that when the "Front Line" ends, the bonus account burns out, and it becomes impossible to receive a discount when buying premium vehicles.

Frontline Rewards and Exchange Rules

For particularly distinguished players, the developers have prepared very interesting rewards. In particular, Valor points earned during the game event can be exchanged for military equipment. 4 excellent cars are offered for exchange, but even here there were some pleasant surprises.

So, as an award technique are offered:

  1. STA-2. This is a great premium CT that belongs to the Japanese tech tree. The tank has relatively good mobility and weapons power, which makes it an ideal fire support vehicle.
  2. WZ-111. This is a Chinese heavy tank that pleases tankers with excellent armor performance. The car seems to be designed to break through the enemy’s defenses, it can single-handedly hold back enemy attacks on city maps.
  3. EMIL 1951. This is a calm "Swede" with a drum gun and relatively good armor. The car has only recently passed the super test, and will currently only be available as a prize in Front Line.
  4. "A dark horse". No, this is not the name of a tonka. We are talking about a surprise promised by the developers. This is a Tier 9 Premium tank, the name and performance characteristics of which are still kept secret. Information about this technique will appear a little later, in one of the episodes of the game event. However, knowing the policy of Wargaming, we can assume that the intrigue will last as long as possible.

To take advantage of the exchange opportunity, you need to score a certain number of Valor points: 6, 10, 12 and 15. The gradation is given in the order in which military equipment is listed above.

Note that the rules of the game event do not allow re-crediting a tank to one game account. It follows that if the player already has STA-2 and WZ-111 in the hangar, it will no longer be possible to exchange Valor points for these units of military equipment.

In such situations, the valor deserved on the fields of the "Front Line" can be exchanged for gold currency or bonds. Please note that the possibility of such an exchange opens only if the Valor points earned are not enough to receive another reward vehicle. The exchange rate has not yet been disclosed, and this will be announced later.

In general, if you approach the game responsibly, the earned Valor points should be enough to get two premium tanks. Therefore, it makes sense to try: the offer is really profitable and interesting.

Instead of a conclusion, let's add that the game mode "Front Line" is quite demanding on hardware resources, so on weak computers there may be problems with FPS drawdown and texture display. At the same time, the developers worked on optimizing the map, trying to improve performance.
