How to make a quest at home? Step-by-step instructions and ready-made options. Creating a quest Designing a quest game

Creation of quest - games, quest - events

INTRODUCTION:

In connection with the new educational standards, the introduction of the Federal State Educational Standard into the educational sphere of modern society, the attitude of children to the holidays is also changing. At present, the use of ICT technologies is of great importance, both for children and teachers. A modern child is a person who understands most of the latest "gadgets", but at the same time, they are often used inappropriately. The task of the teacher is to engage. Involve everywhere and everywhere in educational and creative activities.

For modern guys, it’s not enough to play by stations, they are interested in more whole game scenarios to achieve various goals. Since recently, the children's movement of our school has been holding regular quest - games, quest - holidays. For several years this type of work has taken on a special significance, both for educational and creative activities. Let's turn to the definition: quest (borrowing English Quest - "search, subject of search, search for adventure, fulfillment of a knightly vow"). In mythology and literature English language the concept of "quest" originally meant one of the ways to build a plot - the journey of characters to a specific goal through overcoming difficulties (for example, the myth ofPerseus or even 12 laborsHercules ). Usually during this journey, the heroes have to overcome numerous difficulties and meet many characters who help or hinder them. Heroes can complete the quest for personal gain or other motives. The fulfillment of some quests is connected with the solution of moral and ethical problems. Such plots gained great popularity in chivalric novels, in particular, one of the most famous quests of knightsRound Table - searches holy grail . The frame type of the quest in the novel, apparently, coincides with some deep narrative structure. This technique is especially actively used in the genrefantasy . Since this genre is closely related torole playing , then the term migrated to games, slightly changing its meaning.

So, the quest is an adventure game that leads from point A to point B by solving the tasks.

The design of a real quest can be large and massive, it all depends on the number of participating teams and stages. The quest is really similar to the game by stations, but it has a significant difference, in the first case, the guys are openly told where to go (or they are given a map), in the second, the guys are given a task, after completing which they must understand where to go.

Quest games have a classification that I found on the forum :

Story - quests aimed at the consistent development of game events;

Not plot - quests aimed at the legalized development of game events.

Kinds:

Disposable - quests, once completed per game.
- Reusable - quests, regular passage (daily, weekly, periodically - every few days).
Kind of quests:
- Singles - passage alone.
- Group - passing as part of 2, 3, 4 players, as part of a clan, for example, at least 10 players, alliance, for example, at least 15 players.
Quest type
- Survival (defense) - actions of a player alone or (as well as) as part of a group, aimed at holding territory on different terrain (as an option, for a certain time, until the main forces approach).
- Liquidation (attack) - actions of a player alone or (as well as) as part of a group, aimed at destroying / suppressing enemy forces (of various numbers) on different terrain. (perhaps temporarily)
- Espionage / sabotage- the actions of the player alone or (as well as) as part of a group, aimed at capturing important documentation, taking the "language" and other people, with their subsequent delivery in acc. organs. Destruction of buildings, structures, structures, as well as vehicles by mining. (perhaps temporarily)
- Search\trade operations- actions of a player alone or (as well as) as part of a group, aimed at detecting, delivering and, possibly, in the process, combat clashes with the enemy, various cargoes, objects. (perhaps temporarily)
- peaceful - the actions of the player alone or (as well as) as part of a group, aimed at delivering various items to the NPS (possibly for a while).
The principle of peaceful quests
- find ---> get a reward,
- find ---> bring ---> get a reward,
- find ---> report ---> get a reward,
- bring / take ---> get a reward,

Of course, not all types of quests are suitable for the modern education system, but only peaceful and search ones.

There is a certain structure of game quests:

  1. The presence of interesting characters (human actors, with the attributes of the characters they portray)
  2. The presence of rewards for completed tasks (for example, tokens, or receiving part of the answer to the main question of the game, at the end of the game, certificates for places, cups, etc.)
  3. The presence of a leading team (not a prompter, but an assistant)

How to create a quest game with students? You can use the technology "turntable"

Stages of creating a quest game with students:

  1. Topic selection:

Each teacher should be aware that it is necessary not only to tell the children what they should do, but to try to create an atmosphere of desire. You can tell the guys about what a quest is, whether they think that they themselves can become the creators of the game here and now. Offer them topics (several options), by voting choose one of them. Or offer to create a game for any school event or upcoming holiday.

  1. Determination of the target category (number of teams, their age) and determination of the scale of the quest (office, school, district, city ...):

Determine who the game will be aimed at, for whom the initiative group could hold such an event, with whom it would be comfortable for the group to work (the complexity of the tasks and the heroes that the teams will meet depend on the age of the participants)

  1. Determination of the number of stages:

Divide the guys into several groups (this can be done after determining the stages of the game), for example, 5 groups of 4 people.

  1. Team work guys

The work of children in teams can be carried out in several ways:

Using a Whatman sheet in each group

Using a pre-prepared questionnaire

With the help of a computer class (using ICT)

Need answers to questions:

  1. Come up with a hero name
  2. Name 3 character traits of a hero
  3. What does the hero look like?
  4. How the character talks (slow, fast....)
  5. Where the hero is located (depending on the choice of the location of the quest)
  6. The riddle of the hero
  7. Hero's task (team action on the spot)

Each team must either fully answer all the questions, or answer them using the “turntable” method (1, 2,3,4, .... For a certain amount of time)

  1. Introducing fictional characters

Oral defense of invented heroes (with possible reincarnation)

  1. Determining the order of presentation and search for heroes (when there is one team, it is easy when there are several of them, the rule should be followed: the number of teams = the number of heroes)
  2. Determining the results of the game, it is possible to determine nominations, awards.

It should be recalled that at each stage there should be an encouragement (tokens, part of the final task, etc.)

  1. The distribution of the roles of the quest game between the participants, the creation of a schedule of individual rehearsals, the selection of costumes (determining the role of the leaders and persons accompanying the teams).
  2. Conducting a survey on whether the children liked to take part in the creation of the game.

What difficulties did they face?

This is how our team creates scripts for quest games and quest fairy tales dedicated to various festive events, it is especially nice when the elders create magnificent holidays for the younger ones. The quest can last 1-3 hours. Most often, it is not only entertaining, but also educational and educational in nature, so you should not think that the lessons can be wasted, especially if the tasks are selected to motivate the desire to study subjects. And now I would like to introduce you to two scenarios of the conducted quests. The first is dedicated to a wonderful holiday - “ New Year", where DiMOO "ONYX" held a New Year's fairy tale with obstacles for pupils of the beading circle, the second instructive game is a story about the life and work of the great scientist Lomonosov, which was conducted by DiMOO for several parallel classes.

To have fun with friends and family, you can organize a quest on your own. The program of the event is easy to choose for adult company, for children or choose suitable for family holidays.

The quest can be organized for a solemn occasion, for a birthday, an anniversary of any event, for the New Year. Or you can just gather your loved ones on a day off and have a great time.

What is a quest

The main idea of the quest is that players perform not one, but several tasks. All participants can go through the quest together, completing the points of the program at the same time, or they can be divided into teams.

These tasks can be sequential, when each solution of the problem contains a clue, where to go next. For example, the answer to the very first riddle will be the name of the place where the participants need to run further, and in this place they find the next clue. And there may be tasks that are not interconnected, then for each team you can draw your own map of where to go first. So the players will not intersect at the same sites, but will come to them in turn.

If you have team competitions in mind, then you can determine the winner. The team that first solves all the riddles and gets to the finish line in a sequential quest wins. And in the case when everyone performs the same tasks in turn, you can give teams points for the quality of each of them.

In any case, at the end of the quest, all participants come to the appointed place, where an interesting surprise awaits them, which will be pleasant to the whole company. Such a logical conclusion can be a table with a delicious treat or a small fireworks display. The quest can take you all to a picturesque place where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and take memorable photos.
For participants, you can prepare souvenirs, cute postcards on the theme of your quest, small figures, it can even be origami crafts prepared in advance by children.

Organize your quest in the city

You can choose a city park, the courtyard of your house as a site for the quest, or you can move around the city. It is much more useful to walk, in which case you need to choose places where even children can quickly reach. Or you can agree in advance that you will travel by transport.

Your friends or family move from one remarkable place to another. In each location they are waiting for a hint where to go next. For example, if you play all over the city, then the venues could be your yards, your company's favorite place in the park, or a cafe where you often gather.

You can use the quest as an opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of your native city, admire the old buildings, find out who the nearby streets are named after.

We conduct a quest in nature

On fresh air it is most beneficial for health to organize sports competitions. You will need to prepare the sites for the competitions in advance, and give the players a map instruction on how to move between locations.

You can organize a small relay race, when all participants must take turns running a short distance from the start to the finish line, while at the finish line a basket with cones, twigs and other natural materials will be waiting for them.

At the finish, each participant takes the material they like from the basket, and when the whole team gathers again at the start, they need to collect the original craft.

Favorite entertainment by many - "Spider web". In advance, you need to stretch a rope between the branches of trees to make a web. All participants in turn must get through it without hitting the ropes. If one of the participants touches the threads, the whole team makes their way through the obstacle again.

You can arrange bicycle races, long jumps, throwing any projectile, you can play a game of volleyball. Choose tasks based on the capabilities and preferences of your company.

We play quest at home

At home, it is most convenient to arrange an erudition test. You can come up with a detective story with a missing necklace, and the participants will unravel who is guilty of his loss and look for treasure throughout the apartment.

If the company is not too big, and the size of the apartment allows everyone to freely run around it, then you can arrange a quest similar to the city one. Post clues in each room. After finding the first one, players will know where to look for the next one.

Features of the quest with small participants

When coming up with contests and tasks, do not forget to consider whether there will be children with you. Safety requirements will be stricter for small participants, because they are not yet as dexterous and strong as adults.

Children are very nimble and mobile, but if your quest includes a long hike on foot, they can get tired quickly. Therefore, it is better to avoid such tasks, or divide long routes into parts, and arrange a halt with refreshments between them.

If you have tasks for erudition, then also count on the youngest audience. Solving riddles should be interesting for everyone.

It depends only on your imagination and the preferences of the whole company what kind of quest will be. At least at home, even on the street, you can arrange running around locations, sports competitions, and logical puzzles, or you can combine all these elements. Even if the participants do not cope with all the tasks, or do not get to the end of the quest, the main thing is that you all have fun and get a charge Have a good mood from joint outdoor activities!

Now, when teambuilding is an obligatory component in the work of any organization, many interesting event programs have begun to appear, among which, of course, are quests. To play quests, you do not need to know any special rules. Simple ingenuity will suffice. Event companies usually organize quests, but this does not mean that you cannot prepare the quest yourself. This is a fairly doable task, you just have to work a little.

How to make a quest game yourself?

1. Consider the specifics of the process.

This item implies that you clearly define the goals and objectives, agree on the command staff and think over the game itself. So, for example, as goals you can choose:

Team building;
- acquaintance with the city;
- just entertainment;
- advertise the sponsor.

As for the number of participants in each team, you should not exceed the number of 10. It is best when these are groups of 5 people. But still, one should proceed from the scale of the quest, the larger it is, the more participants will have to be attracted.

And the last - the process of the game itself. There are plenty to choose from. You can play:
- time tracking;
- on the number of points;
- for the final passage.

2. Prepare tasks of different levels of complexity.

The main thing in the quest tasks is that they should be interesting. As for difficulty, try to choose the best option. Not overly complex, but not childish either. Before including tasks in the quest, "test" them on your friends or acquaintances, see how long they can solve the task. If the quest participants cannot solve the task for a long time, offer them hints, for each of which you can take points. Can be kept in stock Additional tasks, for hints, etc.

As for the tasks themselves, these can be:
- charades;
- puzzles;
- logical puzzles;
- historical;
- game (for example, "crocodile").

3. The route of the quest.

If the quest takes place in a city, then you can simply take a map of the city, choose the most interesting places and place positions with tasks on them. By the way, if you conduct a real theatrical quest, then you can invite real actors who will be dressed in the spirit of that time or events on which the idea of the quest is based. Distances between "points" should be chosen taking into account many factors. This is the age of the participants, and the way they move. If this is a walking quest, then it is better not to make the distance more than 1 km, but less than 50 m is also not the best option.

4. Prize fund quest.

Of course, prizes should be related to the whole team, and not be individual. In addition, prizes must be received by all teams without exception. An excellent gift for the winners can be a cup and a joint trip for the whole team to some place.

5. Informing all participants of the quest.

First, prepare a list that includes everything that the quest participants will need. It can be a compass, pen, paper, map, stopwatch, etc. Distribute this list to the participants.

Remind everyone that it is better to come to the quest in comfortable shoes in order to overcome distances without any problems. Themselves, just in case, make first-aid kits, where there will be a plaster, bandage, peroxide.

How to make the quest more fun?

In order for the participants to fully fit into the atmosphere of the game, collect their phones, tablets and everything that makes it possible to access the Internet. Only ingenuity, a map and a compass - and you will see how interesting and lively everything will go.

How to make a quest for children?

There are many ways to entertain children. However, it is much better if it all goes in the form interesting game. adventure quest in the form of a game - what you need for active kids. Here is a small example.

1. draw interesting map. Mark clues and directions on them. If you want to give the paper an "aging" effect, dip it in coffee and dry it. Burn the edges.

2. Hide the next clues, let the children look for them. Under branches, in the hollow of a tree, etc.

3 . Add tasks and pictures to each hint. These can be sports tasks, logical or team tasks. The main thing is that it should be interesting!

4. You can make original signs from improvised materials.

5. Some tasks can be written with "invisible" ink. To do this, write with milk or lemon ink. Children can see what is written if you highlight with a candle.

6. You can bury the bottle with tasks or hide it. Leave hints nearby.

7. The final task should be the treasure. There should be left gifts for all the children. Don't forget anyone! It can be balls, sweets, toys.

How to make a birthday quest?

A birthday quest is an individual gift. You need to proceed from what your loved one likes. If he is a fan of science fiction films, you can organize a quest in the style of a movie. For example, according to the plot of Bondiada or Terminator.

If the birthday boy is delighted with cartoons, you can organize this too. However, remember, if the birthday boy will go through the quest, you do not need to prepare too complicated tasks and make long distances between the waypoints. Still, it can be boring for one. It is much better to organize a fun quest in the company of friends who will help to cope with the tasks.

When are you planning children's holiday, the easiest option is to contact people who are professionally involved in organizing holidays. They will offer you a lot of options, different kinds entertainment, among which quests are especially popular today.

Quest- this is a chain of tasks, interconnected by some topic, a common goal.

It is not surprising that children are delighted with quests, because they love to solve mysteries, go to the goal and get such a coveted prize as a result.

But to arrange an exciting quest, it is not necessary to contact anyone. By turning on ingenuity and imagination, any parent can write a script for their special quest, which will be compiled taking into account the hobbies and interests of your child. And such a quest will be even more valuable, because you put your soul into it, and even more interesting, because who, if not you, knows how to interest your own child.

To write a script, you will need tasks for a quest for children. Consider different options for children's tasks, arranging which, you can create your own unique scenario.

To read it, you need to do certain actions with it. Examples of such a letter:

  • milk lettering. Appears when heated. To do this, you will need matches or a lighter, so this task should not be given to kids. But even if you are doing a quest for schoolchildren, at this stage it is desirable to participate or at least the presence of an adult for security purposes.
  • wax candle or crayon. Paper with a hint must be painted over with a pencil so that the inscription appears. Great safe option.
  • embossed inscription. We take two sheets of paper, put it on a soft surface and write a message so that it is printed on the bottom sheet. It will be our secret letter. To read the inscription, it must be painted over in the same way as in the previous version.

Crossword

You can easily make your own. For example, the answer to the next stage will be the word “sun”. For each letter of the word, we come up with another word: the letter “C” is a dog, etc. And it may not necessarily be the first letter of the word. Then for each of the words we select a leading question or a riddle. The answers fit into the cells and the result is a hint word in one of the columns. We paint it with some color. An example of such a crossword can be found here.

Hidden clue

For this type of task, you will need a container with sand, any cereal or pasta, in which a capsule with a hint is hidden. You can also use a bucket of water.

Such tasks are more suitable for a quest that takes place in nature.

You can hide the hint not in a container, but in a certain area. It can be some bushes or thick grass.

Quiz

One or more questions, after solving which, the participants receive a hint. It is desirable that the questions of the quiz were united by one topic. These can be phrases from fairy tales, according to which you need to guess the fairy tale itself.

More quiz options:

  • we take several objects or pictures, we must guess from which movie or cartoon these objects are;
  • geographical quiz - guess countries, cities;
  • a quiz with questions about animals, birds or insects;
  • a quiz with questions about household appliances or about any items used in everyday life.

If the quest is conducted with schoolchildren, the quiz can be devoted to any subject that they study at school. In this case, the task will be not only exciting, but also useful.

labyrinth

More suitable for nature, but can also be arranged at home. On the street, it can be stretched ropes between which you need to crawl, or a tunnel of branches - this should already be looked at from the availability of materials.

At home, you can use a special children's tunnel or stretch tape between the walls in the corridor.

Mystery

It can be in both prose and verse form. The answer is the key to the next task.

To complicate the task, write the riddle backwards - then the children will have to try to read it, and then only guess.

Rebus

We depict the key word with the help of a rebus. You can choose a ready-made rebus, or you can come up with it yourself.

Puzzle

We pre-print a word or picture on paper, stick the paper on thick cardboard and cut it into pieces. The task of the child is to put the puzzle together to get a hint.

Word encrypted with phone buttons

Phone buttons have letters, which means that each letter in a word can be represented by a number. But each number corresponds to several letters, which complicates the task. Such tasks are suitable for schoolchildren, kids may not be able to cope with them.

Word encrypted with icons

Each letter of the alphabet is denoted by some sign - a circle, a square, an asterisk. Children are given a cipher of signs and an alphabet with symbols. Their task is to pick up letters and guess the word as soon as possible.

find 10 differences

A well-known entertainment since childhood is to compare two pictures and find the differences. It can be made a task for children's quest. The team to look for differences is much more fun and interesting.

relay races

This is part of the quest in nature. There are a lot of relay variations. You can come up with your own, stylizing it to match the theme of the quest. For example, if the quest is dedicated to the New Year, then instead of a ball, children can pass each other a toy snowman or a bag of Santa Claus with gifts.

Who is out of place here?

Children are offered a few words or pictures. Their task is to determine which object or word is superfluous. The extra word will be the key to the next stage. A variant with complication - we guess each word with a riddle or a rebus, then the children first need to unravel the words, and then look for something superfluous among them.

Count

We prepare cards with hints in advance, on each card there is a word and a number. To find out which word is the key, you need to count something. You can count steps in the entrance, benches or trees on the street, windows in the house, etc. We complicate the task - we need to count several objects, then add these numbers to get the key.

Find the right box

It is necessary to prepare several identical boxes, one of which contains a key or a word. The task of the participants is to open all the boxes. The option is more complicated - we put a key in each, but only one of them fits the lock, or we put a piece of paper in each, but only one of them has a hint.

Mirror reflection

We write a word or a riddle in a mirror image. Participants must guess for themselves that they need to use a mirror to read. By the way, the mirror can also be hidden, thereby making the task even more interesting.

General task rules

Only the main options for tasks are selected here, you can take them as a basis or come up with your own, but you must follow a few rules:

  • All assignments must be free of danger. You can not force a child to swim across the river or kindle a fire;
  • Problems must be age appropriate for the participants to be able to actually solve them. But at the same time, they should not be too simple;
  • the stages of the quest should be united by one theme, smoothly transition into each other, line up in a logical chain;
  • at the end, the participants should expect a prize, and it should be such that no one is offended. If the game is a team game, then the prize should be calculated for the whole team. If desired, you can give small prizes at each stage of the passage.

We hope that our tips will help you and you will organize your original and exciting children's quest!

Every day the popularity of quests is growing - more and more people learn about them. And many have a desire to invent their own own quest some holiday for your family and friends. Coming up with tasks for the quest is not an easy task, here you will have to call on all your imagination, ingenuity and resourcefulness to help.

It is worth noting that games with solving puzzles are loved not only by children, but also by adults. For many centuries, mankind has come up with great amount riddles, charades, logical tasks and other tasks that can not only diversify your leisure time, but also help develop mental skills and thinking.

In this article, we want to tell you about how you can apply many well-known and favorite tasks from childhood in your quest. Pay attention to the main condition - the answer to the task should be a word denoting a place or object, and which can serve as a kind of hiding place. After all, a quest is a chain of tasks, each of which is hidden in a certain place. After completing the next task, the players learn the keyword, and it tells them where to go next. At first glance, it may seem that the answer in the form of a word is obtained only when solving puzzles, crossword puzzles and riddles. In fact, you can get the word even in a puzzle like origami. And we will tell you how to do it in this article.

How to choose keywords for a quest

The core of the quest is the puzzle cards and the locations pointed to by the answers in those puzzles. After all, as we wrote above, all tasks are hidden in various places and objects.

Places and words denoting them can be common, found everywhere: a bed, a TV set, a door, a window, etc. Or there can be specific ones, available only in a particular room or in a particular area. For example, you can use the names of indoor plants, books, tourist souvenirs, etc.

Or it happens that one word for some people has a double meaning. An example could be this: a cat lives in a family, his household members jokingly call Baton, well, or Sofa) So this word can be made the key in the quest. Having received the word “sofa” in the answer, the players will not immediately guess that they need to run not to the real sofa, but to the cat or to the place where he sleeps or eats. Such funny moments will make the game more fun and interesting. They will add individuality to the quest and tasks, show that the organizer put his soul into the process and took into account the interests and preferences of loved ones.

A similar example can be given with the use of souvenirs from trips around the world. For example, you have a plate hanging on your wall - a souvenir from Paris. This is a great reason to add a task to the quest, the answer to which will be something related to Paris or France. Maybe even the word "Paris" itself.

There are many such examples. But we will not delve into them, since the purpose of this article is to give advice on how to come up with tasks for a quest, for example, for a birthday. We are also on concrete examples Let's look at how to adapt and implement different types of puzzles into the quest. Of course, we will share some secrets, but we will not reveal them all yet. The examples of tasks below are taken from our quests, which you can find in.

Now let's look at how different types of tasks can be "modified" in such a way that the answer to them is a word - the name of an object or place. Only then can you include this task in the quest.

Types of tasks for the quest

Conventionally, we divide all the huge variety of types of puzzles and tasks into categories. Below we will look at some of them.

"Verbal-letter assignments"

Their essence is to correctly enter the answers (words and letters) in the right cells. As a result, a keyword will appear in the selected cells, which will lead the players to the next task. A classic example of such a task is the most common crossword puzzle, by filling in which you need to read the keyword in the highlighted cells.

Such tasks include:

  • Crosswords
  • graphic crosswords
  • chainwords
  • tasks "song" or "poem", where you need to enter the words missing in the text and make up a key word from the letters in the selected cells.

"Simple Tasks"

The key word is guessed either as a riddle, or as a charade, or as a question for erudition or specific knowledge. Here is an example of a famous charade:

Answer: KAR+TINA=PICTURE

An example of a question with the answer "MIRROR":

"Puzzles"

You need to compose and solve puzzles according to generally accepted rules that can be found on the Internet.

Most often, the rebus is a combination of pictures, letters and numbers. The task is to write down the names of these images in the correct order and then decipher the keyword or phrase.

"Logic puzzles"

Within the framework of this article, it is difficult to describe all the many ways to use logic puzzles for home quests. Maybe in the future we will devote a separate article to this. In the meantime, here is one good example of how a well-known type of matchstick puzzle can be adapted for use in a quest:

"Philwords"

There are many use cases here. In the Philword, you can guess a word by scattering its letters among false letters. In this case, all false letters will be repeated, and the letters of the keyword will occur only once. In this case, the task should be formulated as follows: cross out all the repeated letters, and make a word from the rest.

Or the feelword can be an intersection of many words that, according to the assignment, will need to be found and crossed out. And the remaining letters should make a keyword.

Another option for using the fillword is to hide three or four words among the false letters, which together would give a hint of the keyword you need. For example, the words are hidden on the alphabetic field: soup, lid, kitchen. The word that connects them will be pan. In it, you need to hide the next puzzle or the final prize.

"Find differences or an extra item"

Such tasks are great for any children's quest, especially when children cannot read yet, and using verbal tasks is not suitable for you. If the task says to find an extra item, then you can, for example, in the image Christmas tree“hide” among the toys a pot, a washing machine, or any other ridiculous thing. There and organize another cache. If the task needs to find differences, then the players are given two pictures, one of which needs to provide a “key” difference.

"Find an item without a pair"

Like the previous tasks, great for children. The card depicts a variety of objects in a chaotic manner with their logical pairs. For example: brush - paints, TV - antenna, match - fire, etc. We think of one item without a pair, it will be the key one.

Can be used in two ways. In the first case, the labyrinth will be a regular puzzle with multiple exits. Each exit must have an item placed. At the only correct exit, an object is placed, conceived in the quest scheme.

The second option is more interesting for adults and children who can read. On the paths of the labyrinth, letters are scattered in such a way that, only by going along the right path, it will be possible to read the keyword.

"Logic chains"

For children, you can use logical chains with a list of repeating items.

For adults and children who are friends with mathematics, you can come up with various chains with numerical patterns. The missing numbers in them must correspond to the serial number of the letters in the alphabet. The letters are guessed exactly from the keyword you need.

"Tasks with the collection of letters"

The meaning of the tasks is to collect the necessary letters to compose a keyword. You can think of a lot of options here.

For example, the letters of a word can be randomly placed on any picture, preferably a thematic one. Immediately present a number of small fragments of the same picture. Each fragment must correspond to the location of one of the letters of the keyword.

The collection of letters can also be conceived in a table at the intersection, for example, the names of countries and cities that are located in them. Such a puzzle can be made on any topic: literature, geography, sports, art. It is she who will help to take into account the hobbies and interests of the players in the game.

"Ciphers"

Almost no quest can do without this classic technique now. The keyword is encrypted with figures, pictograms, flowers, snowflakes, in general, with any icons corresponding to the theme of the game. Using the alphabet, where each sign corresponds to a letter, players must read a message, a riddle, or just a keyword.

"Puzzles"

We stopped in detail about the issue of using riddles in a quest in the article Riddles for a quest. In it, we talked about how to use riddles in the quest correctly, how ordinary riddles can be turned into interesting puzzles, showed some interesting ideas, and also published lists of riddles about various household items.
You can also find a list of riddles about various household items here:

"Special tasks with secret inscriptions"

These are the most entertaining tasks for the quest. These include tasks using sympathetic ink or the use of any manipulation to manifest the message on paper. Ink, which, after drying, becomes invisible, and when heated, can be used: milk, lemon juice, starch solution.

You can reveal the secret inscription in other ways. For example, you need to take two sheets of paper, put them one on top of the other and write a message on the top sheet, pressing hard on the pencil. On the bottom sheet, at first glance, the inscription is not visible, but if you take a pencil and paint over it, then the pressed inscription will appear.

The principle of operation is similar for such a task: write a word, a message on a piece of paper, or draw a picture with a colorless wax candle. If you then paint over the sheet with a pencil, then the secret image will appear, as it will remain white.

An interesting task for a children's quest is a message that can only be read with the help of a mirror. On the sheet you need to write a riddle or a phrase in mirror image. Having received such a task, the players must guess to use the mirror and read the text.

Designing tasks for a spy quest will not do without making a stencil, which can also be used to receive a secret message. To do this, you need to take a newspaper clipping, select the necessary letters in the text for the intended message, and make cuts in the right places on a blank sheet of paper. This task is especially interesting when players find a stencil and a newspaper clipping at different stages of the quest.

Individual tasks

Above, we have described only a small part of the tasks that can be applied in the quest. You will find many other original and unique tasks in your own way.

We try to include so-called individual tasks in our quests whenever possible. They help to personalize the quest and give it the look of an individual, designed specifically for a specific person or company.

For example, task "Our Date" in the Romantic Quest (link to the rum quest) is based on the date the couple met. Without remembering it, the task is impossible to solve. A task similar in type “Do you know me well” with personal questions is also indispensable if the quest is being prepared for a loved one.

Our quests

The development of tasks for the quest is not only inventing original puzzles for the quest. Be sure to take the time and insert a few moving tasks into the quest. They will help to diversify the quest and will not let the players get bored.

When buying most of our scenarios, we give our customers a specially designed set of active tasks for the quest.

The set includes tasks, according to which players must perform certain active (physical or creative) actions. If done correctly, they move on to the next stage and receive another puzzle or task.

Please note that usually quests do not imply the participation of the host in the game, because. players themselves find tasks, solve them themselves and get hints on where to look for the next ones. If you enter active tasks, then the participation of the presenter will become mandatory.
