Strength also affects the damage that enemies receive from your attacks.

What weapon to take in Bloodborne

At the start of the game, it is proposed to choose from three options: a saw, an ax and a cane. The saw unfolds into a giant straight razor, the hero swings it at medium speed - this is the "canonical" hunter weapon that you saw in the trailers. The ax has good stopping power and thumps loudly on the ground; allows you to easily stop groups of enemies moving in a column. When unfolded, the ax turns into a deadly halberd - not the most fast weapon in the game, but the roundhouse kick can be useful if you are surrounded.

Saw Cleaver

The cane is the hardest thing to master. It has a fast attack, but deals less damage than an ax and a saw. By unfolding the cane with the L1 button, you will get a chain, almost like in Castlevania. It allows you to control and keep groups of enemies at a distance, but is ineffective in tight passages: the blow goes astray if the chain clings to the wall.

Save resources, especially the Molotov cocktail

At first, you will regularly find healing potions, Molotov cocktail bottles and pots of oil, but this freebie will end as soon as you leave the first location. If everything is clear with medicines, then you get cocktails and oil specifically for the battle with the church monster. Remember: Bloodborne has a lot of wooly enemies, including bosses - and all woolen ones burn perfectly.

How to kill the church monster

The Cleric Beast on the bridge is easy to defeat if you haven't used up all the Molotovs by this point. Although it looks unwieldy, in reality it is a rather nimble creature, and before throwing, you need to take into account the animation of the character throwing the Molotov cocktail. This is best done when the monster is simply walking towards the hero.

If you're having trouble with the first boss, you can call for help...the second boss of this game, Father Gascoigne. To do this, you need to have one insight in order to receive the summoning bell in the Hunter's Dream. You should also talk to Gascoigne's daughter and take the music box from her. After that, return to the lamp in central Yharnam and go to the left, where you will almost immediately see a pale glow, inside which the messengers will advise you to use the summoning bell. Perform this action and Father Gascoigne will appear next to you, which will greatly facilitate the fight with the church monster.

Explore the world more closely

Bloodborne is a kind of metroidvania. Yharnam and its environs are formally open to unlimited hiking adventures, but in fact the entire city is one large level with corridors, rooms, backyards and squares. There are many roads between these locations - both the most obvious and hidden ones. Explore the city to discover more convenient routes from lamps to various destinations. For example, the gate in central Yharnam, to the left of the lamp, can be opened if you go left in the square with the fountain (where the giant is breaking through the door) and break all the boxes. After the battle with the dogs and a couple more giants, go to the left and up the stairs. And on the right you will find an elevator that will take you to Gascoigne - you can start it, however, only from above.

How to Kill Father Gascoigne

The ferocious werewolf Father Gascoigne is difficult to defeat, but there are a few loopholes. First, you need a box. It can be obtained from a girl who complains that her parents are gone. If you go from the first lamp, in central Yharnam, to the right, through the square with a crucified blazing werewolf and a fountain, near which a big guy with a brick is breaking through the gate, then further, after the first climb to the stairs, you need to turn left. If you have already opened the metal gate from the back, then to the left of them you will see a window in which the light is on. Talk to the tenant, get a box and a small task.

The box must be installed in the quick slot ("square" button). When Gascoigne makes an unsuccessful series of blows, take advantage of this and open the box. The sounded melody will introduce the boss into a stupor, which will give you a few seconds to take decisive action.

The box has little to no effect on the second iteration of the enemy: Gascoigne the werewolf grabs his head about one out of ten times. But Molotov cocktails work great on a hairy creature!

First, when Amelia's health starts to go to zero, and the hunter is seductively close to victory, the she-wolf will begin to regenerate. She gets into a prayer position and very quickly restores a significant part of what you have been delivering her from the last few minutes. Hits don't stop regeneration, so you'll need a flask with Purification Haze. On the way to the boss, you probably found several of these flasks, so there should be no problems with them. Another thing is that no one will warn you in advance about the amazing features of Amelia.

Secondly, fire will help you again. Make sure you don't use up all the "fire paper" that makes the hunting blade burn and deal flame damage. Molotov cocktails and even a torch - everything that burns will go into action.

So Yharnam contracted a terrible epidemic, which the clerics called Shadow or Demonic. Dogs were the first to be infected - the animals became obsessed. A little later, people accepted the disease - the disease imperceptibly crept up from behind: good people became evil, evil ones turned into real monsters, child killers and cannibals. The photographs on the walls were replaced by hanging bloody chains and sickles, and the treatment tables were transformed into instruments of torture. Thus Yharnam forever lost its former glory.

The hero of the new part about dark souls is an ordinary monster hunter. But he came to Yharnam for answers to some questions. And to get answers, he will have to work hard.

The game is expected by many, including people who do not have a console - everyone is interested in what it will be and how it will be served.


Some have already tried bloodborne before the official release - sponsors, press and developers.   • the game was given action, replacing passivity with shields with pistols (there are shields in Bloodborne, but they don’t really help - dodges save);
  • combat mechanics are no different from DS2, but exist certain moment, which players will be happy about (it is silent about it).

    The character editor was also not overlooked, which is also not much different from the DS2 editor: a couple of new hairstyles, shades - and that's it. Nothing new.

    cooperative will support up to three players: one host and two guests. To play in co-op, the host must have a Bell, and the guests must have Small Bells. It works like this: the host beats his bell and invites the players to the lobby, while the guests respond with Small Bells to connect. But this whole procedure can be bypassed if there is a Cry - an item that can create a lobby and set a password for it.     PvP mode works almost the same. To invade alien worlds, players will need the Sinister Bell. also in bloodborne there are messages from the players, now they are called "Memories". The blood stains were replaced with tombstones.

    That's not all. You can also highlight recent news: bloodborne went to "gold", i.e. discs with the game are already being prepared and delivered to warehouses. In addition, the developers promised the players a considerable patch immediately after the release, which will slightly correct the system code.

    Bloodborne will offer competitive (PvP) and cooperative (co-op) multiplayer as well as asynchronous online features.

    What do I need to use Bloodborne's multiplayer features?

    Co-op play

    To initiate a collaboration session, the host uses the element Beconing Bell, which costs one Insight point. This item is given to you in Hunter's Dream after you have gained one point of Insight.

    You cannot call co-op in an area where you have already defeated the boss.

    Guests can voluntarily collaborate with Shallow Resonant Bell. This item can be purchased for one point of Insight from the Insight shop in Dream Hunter; this is a birdbath on the upper level, different from the Bath Messenger store below. You must have at least ten Insight Points to use this store.

    You cannot volunteer to co-op in a cleared boss arena. You can continue playing as usual while the bell rings, similar to placing a call mark in the Sould games. However, the bell will continue to move as you move between areas - with the exception of cleared boss arenas.

    Cooperative matching is automatic and random, but players can set a password up to eight letters long and will predominantly match. Go to Settings - Network - Password to enter a password; it makes for a neat little clan, if you fancy it, as well as private sessions.

    If you're having trouble getting a shared session with a specific friend, even with a password, try the following:

    • Both players exit the game and restart their PS4, making sure the PSN is connected before downloading the Bloodborne app
    • Set a password on both ends before playing
    • Both players go to the same place in the game
    • Guest player calls Small Resonant Bell
    • The player's owner calls Beckoning bell second

    Matchmaking is also affected by Faction and is level limited. You can cooperate with players within ten levels and 10% of your level, rounded up to the nearest whole number. Here is the formula:

    • Maximum co-op partner level:
      [your level] + 10 + [your level x 0.1]
    • Minimum co-op partner level:
      [your level] - 10 - [your level x 0.1]

    For example, at level 30, you can only play with others who range from level 17 to 43. At level 37, you can only play with others who range from level 23 to 51.

    The consequence of this is that if you significantly exceed the level, you less likely to find suitable cooperation partners, since higher level characters tend to be collected at higher levels.

    If the boss is defeated, the guests return to their world and are rewarded for their efforts with one Insight point.

    Guests can leave at any time using the Silencing Blank element. They will also return to their game if they or the host are killed. In any of these cases no reward will be given.

    In some areas, you cannot call or volunteer until you complete certain tasks. Also, in some places you can summon NPCs instead of human co-ops; look for the Messenger, hinting that it is possible, then stand in the Message to summon an NPC.

    Using the Beckoning Bell leaves you vulnerable to the Spooky Bell Woman spawning. It opens up your region to invasion by other players. See below for details.


    Competitive play versus play

    PvP is initiated by the guest, not the host, in an act known as intrusion. In some areas of the game it is possible that the hosts can be captured by two guests at the same time.

    Infestations can only occur in areas where a female belfryer spawns, which occurs when potential PvP players use the Sinister Resonant Bell, the host tries to initiate a co-op session, or sometimes as a result of events in the game world.

    The guests use the Sinister Resonant Bell facility to invade. Requires Insight level 30. If the guest defeats the host, he returns to his game with a reward.

    If the guest is defeated or uses Silencing Blank, or the host manages to avoid the invader and defeat the boss, the guest returns to their world without reward.

    You cannot block PvP sessions. Matchmaking is affected by faction.

    Invaders will not spawn in areas where the boss has been defeated.

    Testaments

    Keep in mind that joining a covenant can affect multiplayer in interesting ways. In particular, Cainhurst Vilebloods and Executioners have an adversarial relationship, and if connected as co-op partners, they can kill each other. The host may not be aware that their visitor is an invader and not a co-op call as it is intentionally unflagged.


    Asynchronous network functions

    Notes. As with Demon Souls and Dark Souls, you can leave hints, warnings, jokes, and other messages for other players. These messages then become visible in other players' games.

    Messages are encountered in the game as Messenger creatures on the ground; interact with them to read messages from other players. To leave messages, use the " Notebook", sent by a messenger when you first visit the Hunter's Dream Center.

    You can rate posts as Fine or Foul. Highly rated posts will last longer and be visible to more players.

    Ghost: When a player dies, they leave behind a tombstone that, similar to Notes, appears in other players' worlds. Interacting with the tombstone will show you haunted data on how that player died.

    Player ghosts. Sometimes you will see ghost data that will decide the level around you, regardless of tombstones. This shows you close data of other players in the same area as you, and you can often learn something from watching them.

    As a first weapon, it is best to take an ax, since it is much easier to use it. On the other hand, a stick with a whip function allows you to hit opponents from a medium distance without taking damage;
    Optimal character for a beginner - biography "Cruel Past", giving a good increase in the characteristics of strength and endurance. Appearance does not play a role, choose at your discretion;
    Found blood clots are cured by clicking on the "triangle", but it's better to save precious jars for the boss fight. With a variety of exploding things, the situation is even more complicated, because you never know exactly where the next impenetrable creature will fall;
    Each boss is unique and requires the appropriate tactics to be used;
    At the first vast location, there is only one saving lantern, so our task is to open all the ways around so that there are no closed gates and you can get to "Hunter's Dream";
    In the "dream" we pump all the skills, focus on strength, vitality and endurance;
    Enemies respawn when they return from safe dreams, which allows you to effectively farm blood clots in the same locations. Sometimes only this will help to pump up and cope with the next boss.
