Creating a hero or where to start

Good afternoon adventurer. After you have downloaded the game and entered the main menu, two of the most interesting choices will be waiting for you in order to start playing the game. At the very beginning, you will be asked to choose from three different classes:

  • Warrior(Can play the role of both a tank and a fighter)
  • Mage(Mages can be either melee or ranged)
  • Archer(A possible variant of the game through the Dagger)
After you have decided on the class for which you are going to play, you have to choose the size of the World (In the version of the game v0.5 and above, this parameter has undergone major changes, and therefore I simply cannot leave it unattended.) The worlds in the game will all be conditionally the same. And here I would recommend when choosing to build on two very important parameters:
  • System requirements

Now let's look at them in more detail. The first, but not least, point is System requirements.



Choosing the size of the world in the game, system requirements will play an important role. If you have a powerful computer and all new games work without problems, then you will not have any problems with the game on any size of the world. Another option is that, as the developers assure, the performance of the game can drop significantly due to the size of the world, if your game can’t afford to work well at maximum settings anyway. Therefore, in this case, for a comfortable game, you will have to choose a small world size.

Now consider the second important point - Free time.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of time on the game, you want to quickly try to run through all the portals and kill the last boss, then a small world would be an ideal choice for you. There, most likely in 85% of cases in about 10-15 minutes you will be able to slowly find the portal to the next level. If you are looking for adventure and challenge then the big world is perfect for you. I wouldn’t say that there are a lot of enemies in big worlds, most likely their number at the level will be about the same, just in big worlds you most likely won’t have clusters of 10 mobs at one point that you have to kill, which will become even more complicated for you if you don't have good equipment. But still in big worlds there are two indisputable pluses:

I would say that the game even looks a little more complete when you realize that you are standing on a small piece of land where, as often happens, a step to the left and a step to the right and you are already at the edge. But really on a big island that I would like to explore.

Red


Red indicates the designation from which levels you can move to the zone you need. When such a bar goes to a question (a level that is closed to us), this means that it is impossible to get there from this level (that is, we need to look for a portal in another place, then after that it will become available.

Green

The green arrow points to a dotted line, which tells us that from this level you can get to a new location. That you will have a portal in this zone. Most likely you just need to find it.

Combat and its basics

As we already know from the tutorial, combat is an attack with our weapons and somersaults to dodge. But besides this, there are a couple of nuances that I would like to talk about.
In addition to the battle itself, which can take place in an open meadow where we will try to dodge the blows of monsters and try to kill him, there are still options for using the terrain. But what if there are no mounds? But no one forbids making them yourself.

This way we can block mobs by making them stand in doorways or behind trees. In the end, you can just build a couple of blocks yourself and put mobs behind them. But tell me, is it interesting? I do not think so....

In addition to all this, there are other options to simply shoot mobs from a hill, but this method works almost anywhere where the height will exceed 3~ blocks or higher. But all these options for not quite fair play, alas, do not work if you play a warrior.

Here, of course, it becomes much more interesting to play, and it is fair to say that this time the mobs really become much more difficult than the bosses themselves in the game. Well, the first thing I would like to say about playing a warrior is that you should stop mindlessly pressing the attack button, and you should start to follow the animation of the movement of enemies a little more closely.

Perhaps the problem is that during our attack we cannot perform a somersault. So you must be sure that at this point in time nothing threatens you and you can attack the mob without fear of dying. When do these moments happen? In addition to the mobs themselves, who simply wave a club in close combat, there are mobs in the game that rely on their abilities, as a rule, 1 successful somersault at the beginning of our battle will help save you precious hearts.

What else I would like to say. Unfortunately, there are mobs in the game that can fly. Yes, and this is really a problem if you play as a warrior. You have to make either a ranged weapon (Which I strongly advise you) or try to stand so that you are higher than the mob itself or on the same level with it, then you can easily kill it with your sword. But the problem is that the map, as a rule, is not famous for a large number of hills. And you will not always be able to take mobs somewhere. So the decision is yours.

As you may have noticed, it becomes a bit more difficult to play at night. Especially not for a particularly experienced player, because new monsters appear. I would like to talk about them.

For me, the night has become the most desirable time in the game because it is hunting time. Time for my monster hunt. Hunting for a large number of mobs and rare items that can be knocked out at night from not quite simple monsters.

In the first version of the game, the bosses in the game were more like ordinary bobbleheads. Their complexity left much to be desired. But luckily update (v0.2) brought us some good news.

The most important innovation is that bonus damage from weapons was removed from bosses. Now a little more. Previously, boss fights looked something like this: You cannot deal any damage to them and simply fulfill the condition of this boss to reset his state of invulnerability. After some simple actions, the boss fell onto the platform and received bonus damage. After that, phase one was repeated again. Now everything is the same with one big exception. Now bosses don't get x2 damage, but normal damage that you can deal to any mobs on the map. And that adds to the difficulty, as now you'll have to play more carefully, as the boss fights are literally twice as long. The first two bosses, in principle, have not changed. What can not be said about the last boss at the moment. If you are interested in what the developers came up with and how they managed to raise the difficulty of the last boss to a new level, I recommend that you read the advisory chapter in this guide.

Now a little more about the bosses themselves:

At the moment there are only 3 of them. And then you can read about them in as much detail as possible. But still, all percentages for the drop of a particular item are approximate, but I hope the difference with real numbers will be minimal. In any case, I do not miss the opportunity that some of the recipes might not have fallen to me in principle, although I have more than a dozen boss kills behind me. I'm just showing the data that I have at the moment, that's all.

Level 10 Zone "Worm Pit"

The boss is very simple, going to the level to him we see sticking out of the ground "Worm Tail" this is what we will look for after the start of the battle with the boss. After killing him, the boss himself appears who will spit acid balls, and remain immune to all types of damage. After about 20 seconds, he will call a group of larvae, among which we will need to find the same "Worm Tail". If for some reason we do not have time to do this, the boss will hide them and show them to us again after about 10 seconds. It is important to know here that all the larvae killed during the first attempt will not appear a second time. Further, after killing the coveted tail, the boss will fall onto the platform. After that, he will become vulnerable to all our attacks for a short period of time. After that, he will regain his immunity and launch 2 times 3 balls with acid. In order not to fall into this trap, we raise the camera a little higher, and try to place the character so that he is between those same balls. So we can avoid damage from the boss. Then everything will be repeated from its first phase until the death of the boss himself.
Not many people know, but killing the 2nd tail of the boss will deal damage to the boss itself. That is the damage we do "To the tail of the worm" transferred to the health of the boss himself.

Experience for killing the boss 2670~

Level 20 Zone "Dragon Lair"

When we move to the level, we find ourselves at the very top of the tower, where we will have to climb onto its roof. Meet me on the roof egg, which will need to be thrown into the abyss, after which an angry boss will fly to us. Which, you guessed it, will be immune to all our attacks. Then, alternating, it will fly along the edges of the square platform, from one edge to the other. Here it is worth noting that he can change his mind and change direction or, say, stop at the corner of the platform. Our task is not to stand on the edge and, if possible, to be closer to the middle. If we run there, then the boss attacks will pass by. So what does the boss himself do? He will throw eggs from his mouth, which we saw as soon as he got up. At the first attack, he will throw one egg, then three. Our main task is not to fall under them. Because they can kill us. Next, we should go around this egg, wait for the boss to take his position for the next volley and by attacking this egg, return it back to the boss. Something very similar to America's favorite game of golf. After that, the immunity from the boss will be reset and he, sticking out his tongue, will collapse onto the platform. Then we will be able to inflict damage on him, after which he will come to his senses and everything will be repeated over again. We do the same until we defeat the boss.

What is important to remember is that the eggs are not simple, in addition to the fact that they will cause us damage if left on the platform for a long time, they will blow out reptiles that will be very similar to those that we have already met before. They don't have a lot of health, but while we're busy trying to bring down our boss, they can kill us.

Be careful and throw the eggs into the abyss if there is no way to hit the boss when they lie on the very edge.

Level 30 Zone "End of the world"

The king of ghosts is not very aggressive at its core, he quietly walks on his platform, guarding the precious crystals. Like the rest of his friends, he is immune to all incoming damage. It is this injustice that we will correct.

There are three crystals on the boss platform. Running from one to another and destroying them, we must dodge the attacks of the boss himself. At this moment, the boss will spin in a whirlwind of emptiness and try to kill us. But it won't stop there. Also, after he finishes spinning, he will throw three clots of emptiness at us. Therefore, it is not worth losing sight of it. It is very important. It's worth keeping an eye on this, because even in the best gear at level 30, two clots will most likely kill your hero and you will have to start from the beginning. After killing three crystals, "The light will give me strength!" sorry, it's not from this game... The light hits your platform and the boss practically loses his physical shell, leaving only a small piece of his armor. This is just the moment we've been waiting for. At this point, he becomes vulnerable to our attacks. After that, the darkness again captures the platform and the evil boss, annoyed by the fact that his precious crystals were destroyed, starts all over again from the first phase. And thank God, these are not clots of emptiness, and we have at least some time to beat the cherished zone crystals that have appeared. In fact, this is the only terrible spell that can kill us with almost one hit, so we should be more careful.

Perhaps the most interesting is the name of the zone in which we are "Doomsday". After all, when the boss puts the crystals, eternal night comes. But when we destroy them, light reigns again.

Boss fight tricks


At the very beginning, I advise you to try a new tactic for the fight with the boss.

After we get to the platform, I advise you to beat the crystals a little. It is important. The main thing is not to kill the crystals, but to leave each half of health or a little less. So after we break our first crystal, there will be one or two hits left for the rest. Which will greatly facilitate the battle with the boss for us and he will immediately become vulnerable to our attacks. Luck is on our side here, and until the death of the first crystal, the boss will not pay any attention to us. It's worth taking advantage of!

There are no special achievements for this boss so that's it.

There was another major change here and a number of new items from this boss were added. I will add a full list of the new drop to the loot list a little more. I just draw your attention once again to the fact that at the moment there are about 60% of all recipes from the boss in the loot list.

My little opinion about this boss.

Since, in fact, the game ends after killing this boss, it is an integral part of what is in various MMO love call high end content. That is, the boss from which the most treasured drop and the coolest things to farm. In simple terms, it is this boss that the developers would like you to kill again and again. Of course, this is not written anywhere, but as a person who has played this game quite a lot, I want to say that the drop from this boss was extremely pleasantly raised, as was the difficulty itself. I will explain why I think so. It began to fall out "Titanium Ingot" extremely rare and most importantly expensive item. And it began to fall out quite often. I think you have already noticed that the creation "Titanium Ingot" an extremely expensive occupation, even after reducing the cost of resources which in the world to do everything may simply not be enough. Therefore, it's damn cool that we now have the opportunity to catch up with the guys who have already managed to put on top clothes and play with them on the same level.

Crystal Weapon

Now I would like to discuss in detail the topic of new weapons.


Let's start in order, how do we collect it? When opening the window for creating items, if you have already managed to raise your (Workbench, Anvil, Altar) to the maximum level (level 4), then you will receive recipes for Crystallized weapons automatically.

What is it about?


At the moment, these are just 3 types of weapons:
  • Fire Crystal Longbow(Improved version of golden bow)
  • crystal cataclysm(Improved version of cataclysm)
  • Crystal Staff of Creation(Improved Void Staff)

How to get it?


In the list of items needed to create, surprisingly extremely cheap reagents. Which don't require you to go and humiliate level 30~ mobs to get them. But unfortunately, or fortunately, not everything is so simple, in addition to 3 easily obtained ingredients, we will also have to get the fourth, the most difficult to obtain. I'm talking about the "Energy Crystal". This is where the pain begins.
After we have collected the cherished ingredients and received the same weapon, it's time for tests! So was it even worth it?

Well, you've completed the game. After killing the last boss, he ended up in such a mysterious place as "Gate". But where do they lead? So far, only the developers themselves can answer this question. However, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that we used the "Red Portal Stones" only once. To open the passage to the boss. So it is possible that we may need them again.

What can we expect from them? New adventures!
Most likely it will be a new planet, perhaps there will be other unique mobs on it. And more interesting and exciting epic boss battles. At least they were promised to us by the developers.

Reasonable to ask why do I think the world will be new? Everything is logical. If you pay attention to the map, you will easily notice that we have made a full circle on it. And that if you scroll a little "to the right" you can see our first zone where we were trained.
So most likely we will be waiting for new worlds. Can't it not take the spirit of the real adventurers?)

"Portal Knights" is a cool sandbox game with a cooperative mode, in which we are attracted not only by "survival", but also by the storyline.

A mysterious Rift has destroyed the landmass in a fantasy land and turned it into isolated enclaves - everyone is surviving as best they can.

Each island is a unique biome with rare plants, animals and mobs, connected to other networks of Portals. You and the other knights must restore the ancient country by tying it together.

Gameplay is like a farm, when each player creates infrastructure, gardens, mines ore and gems, forges weapons. Then, with a detachment of their three comrades, the group goes to explore the islands, clearing them of waves of mobs and the boss.

The island of your dreams

1 After raiding each biome, you will receive seeds, unique materials, in the perspective of pets and servants - improving your own home, building a house in your domain, and later a castle.
2 Garden and vegetable garden, the strengths of the gameplay- you get not only food, mushrooms, medicinal plants, but also materials for ammunition and weapons.
3 Mining, as in all simulators and sandboxes at its best– mines, several levels, various mechanisms, picks, drills and improvements for mining.
4 The mechanics of the game allows you to build almost any building from a temple to a skyscraper- copy the proud underground cities of the dwarves, Minas Tirith or King's Landing.

On each of the wreckage or islands, in addition to the upper level and the portal, there is a cave - explore it for rare materials or unique legendary weapons.

Knights of Portals

1 Three base classes– a warrior, ranger and mage with their own unique skills and armor sets: pumping takes place with the help of weapons and unique artifacts.
2 Craft is very simple, literally in two clicks, in the future they will add magic and enchantment to it - but even now this is a huge facet of gameplay with dozens of things, including decorative decorations for buildings.
3 Portal Bosses unique theme in Portal Knights- to conquer each island, you need to destroy not only monsters, but also the boss, including giants and dragons.
4 Potions, sharpening stones, various upgrades with effects on weapons or armor– do not forget to improve your Knights and their abilities.

Portal Knights is a good Minecraft-style toy, but with a story and a well-thought-out world - if it leaves early access, it will become an event in the genre.

HOW TO KILL A FALLEN WIZARD

Fallen sorcerer- one of, by far, the most evil and dangerous ordinary mobs of the Portal Knights game, which is simply impossible to kill with almost any type of weapon, as many people think. After all, he is constantly mockingly restored, collected from a pile of bones a few seconds after defeating him, even with a cool sword, even with a powerful sagic staff. even with the toughest bow. And it seems that nothing can be done about it.

After defeating with conventional weapons

Yes, and on one of the levels (level 3-07) one soldier will give you the task of not just defeating five of them, but specifically killing each of them. At first glance, this seems like a rather crazy task, because you never manage to kill at least one. And the soldier is still waiting and waiting for the completion of his task. (the type of soldier and his location in the tower may differ from what you see on the screen)

However, there is a solution:

immortal gold is the only way I know of to defeat a fallen sorcerer. Immortal Gold is a magic wand that can be crafted on an altar upgraded to level III from 3 gold bars (Gold Bars) and 6 bags of Angelic Diamond Dust.



Now we can go and kill at least a whole horde of fallen sorcerers. The main thing is that there would be enough safety margin of the stick.
And remember a few more things:

1. It is recommended to kill a fallen sorcerer from beginning to end with this particular wand. True, you can start cutting him with a powerful sword and try to finish off with the magic of this wand, but then the sorcerer will recover with most of the defeats inflicted and you will have to start all over from the very beginning.
2. The wand acts not only on the fallen sorcerer, but also on other bony ones with the same strong damage inflicted when attacking with magic from this very wand.
3. Despite the fact that the fallen sorcerer is not easy to defeat, the items dropped from him are identical to the items dropped from the fallen warrior. Sometimes you will simply be given one bone for defeating the sorcerer. Yes, it is unfortunate, considering all the efforts, torments. applied to defeat him.

The plot is standard: the world of tranquility and prosperity, inhabited by intelligent creatures, was destroyed by an unexpected and mysterious cataclysm - the Rift. The heavens fell, the earth opened up, the once godlike people went into oblivion, and monsters came in their place: mummies, zombies, demonic creatures. Moreover, all the majestic castles, green fields and forests are divided into islands, floating under the sun; the only connection between them is magical portals.

Simply put: - this is an old action role-playing game with good physics, eye-pleasing graphics and storytelling.

Many connoisseurs of the genre argue that the game is more like a game with its own concept of traveling through different worlds. The structure of the gameplay is similar: the player discovers a new island, mines rare ore and other useful materials, killing the local biome, crafts something new and starts searching for another world. Such a cycle is accompanied by a narrative narrative with the help of scrolls, tablets, abandoned castles and various types of bosses.

The reason for the bold minus in the portfolio was the target system, which lies at the root of the combat, the introduction of which is explained by the release of the game on consoles. It looks out of place and far from practical in the conditions of mass mobs - on especially dangerous dungeons, aiming at enemies can play a bad role. To somehow compensate for the limitation of control, the developers introduced rolls - a measure familiar to fans.

A game where the process is tied to an endless grind would not have survived if it were not for co-op mode for four people. In the company of friends, you can do anything: explore the worlds, destroy bosses, build castles and immediately break them with an evil laugh. Even despite the lack of a full-fledged multiplayer, the game seems quite interesting and exciting.
