How to get trading cards without downloading and installing the game

In fact, everything is very simple - we will deceive Steam client, replacing the running game with another id. Cards on Steam drop out for the time spent in the game, and not for achievements. As an example, I will take PayDay game: The Heist.

We find in a folder with one of installed games, a text file named steam_appid.txt. Use search as this file is in different games hiding in different folders. I checked for Left 4 Dead 2, The long dark and MKX, there is definitely a steam_appid.txt file there, but it is also in many other games. Most likely there will be one suitable on your PC.

We open the one found with any text editor (for example, notepad) and replace the numbers with the id of the game from which we want to get cards. In my case, this is id PayDay: The Heist. those. 24240.

We save the changes and run the game through the .exe file in the folders with the game, in my case it is left4dead2.exe, you can also see it in the screenshot above.
