Study of new topic

Today we will get acquainted with the bishop, not a simple bishop, but a chess bishop.

Find out what elephants are, how they walk.

There are four elephants on the chessboard in total. Arrange. Two white, two black. The elephant walks diagonally.

Working with charts

Now I will give you diagrams, you will draw the path for the elephants. Bishops move diagonally on both black and white. Put the bishop on one of the central squares, from here he can make 13 moves. And if it stands in the corner, then only 7 moves. Make three moves with the bishop in different directions. The bishop also strikes diagonally, taking the opponent's piece and taking its place. From the corner place, the elephant can only move in one direction. And from the center in 4 directions.

Analysis of the situation

Can this bishop ever get to the black square. If the bishop is on a white square, can it beat a piece that is on a black square?

So, elephants are light-squared, black-squared. One-color elephants, multi-colored elephants.

Didactic games.

Homework

Draw a chess elephant.

This game is usually played by older boys. school age because it requires physical strength, teamwork, endurance and dexterity, and sometimes it can be quite traumatic. Often it is played by students, soldiers and cadets. For the game you need a flat area and a company of 8-10 people.

Rules of the game "Elephant"

The players are divided into two teams. By lot, one of the teams forms " elephant': One player goes first. He leans slightly forward and can lean his hands on a wall or tree. Another comes up from behind, leans over and wraps his arms around his waist. The third player grabs the second by the belt, the fourth - the third, etc. It is very important that all players take care of their heads and necks and tilt them as low as possible.

After the "Elephant" is ready, the players of the second team (" riders”) take turns running up and starting to jump on top of him. To do this, they push off from the back of the last player of the "Elephant" and try to jump on him in the manner of jumping over a sports horse. You need to jump as far as possible, because after the player is sitting on the "Elephant", he should no longer advance (and the "Elephant" team should not interfere with jumping riders with their actions). When at last the whole team sat on the "Elephant", he begins to move and must take the players to a predetermined place (as a rule, go around some landmark and return back). Experienced "elephant hunters" try to move in step so as not to break the "elephant".

If during a jump or ride the "Elephant" fell apart, then to the delight of the "riders" team, the process is repeated from the beginning. Therefore, it is very important for the “Elephant” team to hold on to each other as tightly as possible, stand firmly on their feet and support their comrades so that the “Elephant” does not fall apart.

If the "Elephant" remained intact, and one of the "riders" fell off the "Elephant", then the teams change places. Therefore, to support the sliding riders so that they do not touch the ground is the responsibility of the entire team. Sometimes a team of riders specifically tries to rock the "Elephant" so that it crumbles.

As a rule, either someone falls from the "Elephant", or the "Elephant" falls apart and, under the general laughter and fun, a "Pile-MalA" is formed. Sometimes it is even difficult to say what happened before, which is the reason for the fierce disputes between the teams. But if the unbelievable happens, and the "Elephant" gets to the finish line, the teams also change places.

It is important that teams have a size of 4-5 people. If the total number of players is 6 - two teams of 3 people are obtained - it is rather difficult for the “Elephant” players to carry the “riders”. But the more players, the longer the "Elephant" turns out. If there are more than 6 participants in the team, then it will be difficult for the “riders” to jump on such a long “Elephant”.

It is also important that when building the "Elephant" the strongest and most enduring players go first: it is on their backs that the jumping riders land.
