Skyrim where to find the ethereum map. Skyrim - Lost to the Ages

During his journey, he visited many corners of the homeland of the Nords, met many good and bad people, saw many amazing miracles, and it seemed that nothing could capture his imagination.

But, as soon as he talked with a ghost somewhere in the Dwemer ruins that are scattered throughout the province of Skyrim, where are the fragments of etherium and how to get into the magic forge, he began to worry more than anything else.

Ghost

Exploring the ruins of Arkntamz, the hero met the ghost of Katria, an adventurer who died here during a collapse. She told how for 20 years she tried to solve the great Dwemer mystery and how she was then deceived by her own assistant, who appropriated her guesses to himself. In general, until she finds the Etherium Forge, her spirit will never be able to rest. From this moment, the mission "Lost in the Ages" (Skyrim Dawnguard) begins.

Etherium is a rare mineral with magical properties. Katria did a lot of research while trying to find the forge. And you can learn about the results of the adventures from the diary and the ancient book if you search her rotten corpse. Her body will lie near the meeting point with the ghost of the adventurer, down the overturned column, over the abyss. By the way, Katria will kindly offer help in finding the forge. And her tips can be very helpful.

First shard

After reading the book and the diary, the hero realized that the entrance to the forge was securely hidden from prying eyes. To get there, you need a special key. Its parts - fragments of etherium - are hidden in four places. Fortunately, one of them is located here in Arkntamz. True, in order to get it, you will have to activate five locks in a certain order. There is a clue, it is on the last page of Katria's diary or on the body of a dead adventurer lying near the gate.

Only after that the hero will be able to pick up the first fragment. He will have to find the rest of the ethereum fragments. And although you can mine them in any order, it is unlikely that it will always be as safe.

Second shard

Finally he got here. Mzulft is composed of four zones. The entrance to them opens only after receiving a certain task, but the hero does not need to get inside. The Etherium Shard lies in the Dwemer storeroom, which is located south of Mzulft.

There are no enemies there. But you can find a lot of Dwemer metal and other valuable items. But most importantly, there will be another key fragment. The difficulty is to open the three locks that separate the shard from the hero. But he did it, and now two fragments of etherium are in his shabby pocket.

Third shard

Somewhere north of the ruins of Bthardamz is an architectural monument of the Dwemer race. This is a bridge over a shallow and fast river, and behind it is an octagonal pedestal. There must be another shard around here somewhere. It will not be difficult for the hero to get here. The most difficult thing will be to find the fragment, since it is not indicated on the map. He will find him behind the plinth and immediately see the ghost of Katria, who will praise him for his success.

Fourth shard

The last part of the key is hidden by the Dwemer ruins of Raldbthar, located southwest of Windhelm, between the White River and Jorgrim Lake. Of all the places where etherium shards can be found, this area will prove to be the most dangerous. Here the hero will meet many marauders, Dwemer spiders and spheres. The path to the fragment is not easy, but he must pass it, otherwise it was all in vain.

In one of the rooms of the city, somewhere at the very end, on a stand, there will be an ethereal fragment, and the ghost of Katria will stand nearby. They are within easy reach, but there is a Dwemer sphere and a spider in the passage. The hero will have to destroy the obstacle, because only after that he will be able to pick up the fourth part of the key.

The deed is done, the fragments of etherium are collected, now you can collect the key. The spirit of Katria will breathe a sigh of relief and say that everything is almost over, and there is only one, the very last stage. And then, offering to meet near the forge, she will disappear again.

Aetherium Forge

The Aetherial Forge is one of the many magical locations in the province of Skyrim. Shards of etherium must be brought here. Here, in the ruins of Btalft, there will be a Dwemer construction in the form of a sphere and an arrow, with a small depression in the middle. There the hero will insert fragments so that they merge into a certain symbol - the key. After that, the elevator leading to the forge will open, and all that remains is to close a couple of valves to block the steam that interferes with the passage.

Upon reaching the forge, the hero will meet several Dwemer spiders, spheres and a huge centurion attacking with fire. The price of victory is too high, but it's worth it. When the last enemy falls, he will be able to calmly inspect all the chests and collect trophies, and then go to the forge to choose a worthy reward for himself:

  • Aetherium Crown - allows you to activate two guardian stones at the same time.
  • Aetherium Staff - Allows you to summon a Dwarven Spider or Orb.
  • Aetherium shield - when the shield is hit, the enemy dematerializes for 15 seconds.

For Katria, the best gift would be the completion of her life's work. She will be delighted to know that all her theories have proven correct and that the forge actually exists. After that, she will disappear again, only forever.

Skyrim is an open-world fantasy role-playing game that belongs to the sandbox class. This is the five part of "The Elder Scrolls" - one of the most famous games in the world. In Skyrim, the player is free to do what is interesting to him, go wherever he wants, choose which of the opposing sides to stand on, at any time interrupt the current quest and start (or continue) another. Today we will talk about the quest "Lost for Ages", and about artifacts directly related to it.

The quest "Lost in the Ages" opens when the player reads the book "Wars for the Etherium", or when the location "Arkngtamz" is found (this location is located in the southeast side of Markarth). As a result of passing it, you will be able to find fragments of etherium in the world of Skyrim and, having visited a special forge, create one of three unique artifacts of your choice - a shield, a crown or a staff.

Ruins of Arkntamz

Finding yourself at the place of the quest, after an ominous voice at the entrance to the ruins begins to convince the traveler who came here to turn back, you will meet the ghost of Katria, who will tell that she died here in search of legends about ethereum. Katria will also dissuade the arrogant hero from exploring the ruins, but if you inform her of your intention not to retreat, Katria will offer her help, which can be either accepted or rejected.

If you use her help, then the further adventure will be accompanied by comments from your new sociable companion.

Making your way further through the ruins of Arkntamz, you will find the corpse of Katria, from which you can remove her uniform and take a personal diary, and this will definitely come in handy in completing the quest. If you forget to pick up the diary, then Katria herself will insist that you pick it up. This item is useful in that from it you can find out the location of the forge in which you can forge a unique artifact, as well as where fragments of etherium are hidden.

In the future, you will find yourself in a room where you will find a gate that opens with a special mechanism, which Katria will call a "tonal resonator". After entering the room behind him, you will find another similar device that is in a stationary state. Activates this device by hitting one of the blades, after which it will be possible to open the second gate. The further path will lead to the place of the collapse, where Katria will remember the circumstances of her own tragic death, and will tell you where you can find her bow.

After an inevitable skirmish with skeletons in a room littered with the corpses of adventurers killed by multiple traps. At this point, you need to solve a puzzle, the clues to which are Katria's diary and a piece of paper that can be found on one of the bodies.

Each mistake in solving the puzzle promises a battle with the Dwemer inhabitants of the ruins, whose strength will increase each time.

After finding the correct answer to the riddle, your character will be rewarded with the first of the ethereum shards. To find the rest of the shards, you should visit the locations of Raldbthar, the outer warehouses of Mzulft and the Deep People's Crossing. You can visit them in any order.

raldbthar

Raldbthar is a huge, ornate network of caves and ruins. A fragment of etherium awaits you in the very depths of the network. Inside the dungeons, you should get to the location "Raldbthar - Market", which can be reached in several ways. The most obvious of them - following the traces of the marker on the map - will turn out to be the longest, and the rest require pre-opened locations Raldbthar and the Black Limit - for example, using teleportation to already open locations will allow you to quickly get to the fragment of etherium.

Warehouses of Mzulft

This part of the quest is quite trivial. You need to go to Mzulft and find a separate room near it, inside of which you will find a door locked with a master level of difficulty for breaking, behind which another shard of etherium awaits the adventurer.

Deep Folk Crossing

This part of the quest is even easier. Go to this location, reach the opposite part of the bridge, and one more of the fragments of etherium is yours.

Ruins of Btalft

So, you own all four fragments of etherium. South of Ivarstead are the ruins of Btalft, where the ghost of Katria awaits the hero again. Katria will offer to place all the fragments found in a special Dwemer device, as a result of which the fragments will reunite together, transforming into an Etherium element. Be on the lookout - after removing the latter, you need to run away as quickly as possible, because immediately a platform will rise from the bowels of the earth and open the gates to the Forge of Etheria.

The descent on the lift will give access to the door, blocked by a lever mechanism on the right side. Behind it is a dark path that will be illuminated by self-igniting torches as you move forward. Tread carefully, the path will be surrounded by a large number of deadly cliffs. At the end of the path is a large staircase leading to a tree at the top. On the far side of the landing at the top is a locked door controlled by a pair of resonators above. Behind the corridor after the door, and behind the next door you will find the Etheria Forge itself.

In the forge itself, you should turn off the flow of steam, after which you will have to fight with the inhabitants of the Dwemer ruins, during which you again need to turn on the steam and leave the lower platform, and the final battle will be a duel with the Master of the Forge. In fact, this is a Dwemer centurion, spewing flames instead of fumes. After defeating the Forge Master, turn off the steam, and follow the quest marker to get to the chest containing the materials needed to make the final artifact.

At the end of the room there are two doors, which you have to get to through the lava, spending health and healing potions. Be careful with your allies, if they are - they can mindlessly climb into the lava with you and die.

Aetherium Forge

Activating the forge with an ethereal element will open a text menu where you can select an artifact that will be the final reward of the entire journey: it can be a shield, crown or staff. You can take your time with the choice, exit the menu and enter it again, but the final decision can only be made once, so it is worth saving the current progress before choosing in case you want to replace the artifact. So you can get acquainted with a particular award in detail and independently study the properties of each item. After creating the artifact, Katria will leave you.

Congratulate yourself, you've completed the Lost for Ages quest!

This quest is only available in the Dawnguard expansion.

The quest begins in the location of Arkngtamz, you can find it by reading the book "Wars for the Aetherium", or find it yourself.

Entering the location, we hear the sounds of ghostly voices. Later we find the ghost of Katria, who tells us that she was brought here by legends about ethereum, but it is very dangerous here and she died here. We go with her to uncover the secret of this legend. Along the way, we will notice such an incomprehensible thing and a closed door.

You just need to hit it or activate it with an arrow / bolt, and the door will open. There will be a lot of Falmer, Corus and Dwemer guards in the location. In the location, we will find Katria's signature bow Zephyr, which shoots 30% faster than a regular bow. After we see a huge wall and those things that were mentioned earlier. They must be activated in this order:

If you make a mistake the first time, then several Dwemer spiders will attack you, if the second, then two spheres, if the third, then shots of Dwemer crossbows, if the fourth, then a centurion will attack you, and if you continue to make mistakes, then they will shoot at you crossbows. But if you activate in the correct order, the door to the Etherian Fragment will open.

After talking to Katria, you need to find more Etherium Fragments in Raldbthar, Mzulft, and Deep People's Crossing.

You may have a problem in Raldbthar with Dwemer gears that are stuck in all sorts of things, if you have this problem, watch the video.

In other locations, problems should not arise (and if you do, write in the comments).

After finding all the Aetherial Fragments, Katria will come up to you and say: "Meet me at the Etherium Forge." The Etherium Forge is located in the Ruins of Btalft.

In the ruins you will find an incomprehensible mechanism, you need to put all the fragments into it, then pull it out, and then move away. After that, there will be an elevator to the forge itself. There will again be incomprehensible things. First you need to activate the right, and then the left. Just before entering the forge, you will have an autosave. As soon as you enter the forge, you will be attacked by Dwemer spiders, then spheres, and then the Master of the Forge will appear - a huge Dwemer centurion.

Quest: Skyrim Lost in Ages Walkthrough

Lost to the Ages is a secondary quest in the Official DLC Dawnguard for Skyrim. In this quest, you will explore Dwemer ruins such as Arkngthamz, Bthalft, Mzulft, Raldbthar, and Deep People's Crossing in search of an etherium forge with the help of the ghost of Katria.

In this article, you will find out.

Getting the job and meeting with Katria:

It is quite difficult to get this task, because for this you need to read the book "War for the Etherium" or find the ruins of Arkngtamz on your own. That is why few gamers know about this quest.

You can find the book in different places, from the laboratory in Dragon's Reach (Whiterun) to the Thalmor embassy. Immediately after reading the book, a new task will appear in your journal "Lost in the Ages" and marking the ruins of Arkngtamz on the map.

If you do not want to search for the book, then immediately go to the ruins that are located near the orc settlement of Dushnik-Yal in the southeastern part of Markarth. The entrance to Arkngtamz is not difficult to find, just climb the stairs and look for the golden gate.

Going inside, you will hear the voice of a girl who will beg you to leave, since these ruins are dangerous. It turns out that this voice belongs to the spirit of a treasure hunter named Katria, who died in these ruins as a result of a collapse. Katria will tell you that she was looking for an ethereal forge, which is located deep in the caves.

If you can convince Katria to finish what she started and find the forge, then she will agree to accompany you and give advice at the right time. After this conversation, you will have a task "Lost in the Ages" and you can continue exploring Arkngtamz.

First of all, you need to find Katria's body and take her diary from her, she is marked with a marker, so you won't have to look for a long time. Taking the diary, go further down the corridor, where you will stumble upon a Dwemer device that periodically opens the door due to the twisting mechanism. One door will open automatically, but the second only after advancing a broken twisting mechanism.

You can turn the mechanism with "shock spell" or arrows, there is no other option to open the door.

Moving through the tunnels, you will come to a tree and a small crevice through which sunlight passes. Having reached the crevice, Katria will say that on the edge of the log lies her Zephyr bow, which you can take for yourself. After going through a few more tunnels, you will reach a huge Dwemer gate with the image of a centurion's head at the top.

Going downstairs, Katria will stop you and tell you that the gate is locked with a "tonal lock". To open the gate, you need to correctly turn all the twisting mechanisms (resonators), with the help of a bow or magic. If you make a mistake, then a lot of arrows will fall on you, as well as a few more dangerous traps (you can understand what will become of you by the numerous bodies near the gate).

You can figure out in what order you need to move the resonators from Katria's diary and several scraps of pages from the dead near the gates of adventurers. If you are too lazy to do this, then here is the correct order:

First shot- resonator in the lower part on the left;

Second- at the bottom right;

The third- in the upper part on the left;

Fourth- in the upper part on the right;

Fifth- at the bottom in the middle.

After that, the side gate will open, and you can enter the vault, which will contain a shard of ethereum. Taking the shard, Katria will tell you that there are three more, but they are hidden in other Dwemer ruins, the location of which can be found from her diary.

Search for an ethereum shard in Mzulfta:

Second Etherium Shard located in the dwarven pantry south of the entrance to the Dwemer ruins of Mzulft. There are no enemies in the pantry, just go to the east wall and look for a shard of ethereum on a pedestal.

Search for an ethereum shard in Raldbthar:

The next ruins where is the fragment of ethereum, there will be Raldbthar, which will be marked with a marker on the map. In general, the upper part of the ruins does not have particularly difficult moments, and the main opponents in them will be bandits and Dwemer spheres.

To go down into the caves you need to get to the elevator and turn the lever in the middle. As soon as you take the elevator down and exit onto the steps, spinning blades will appear from the floor that you need to jump over from the side.

Next, you will have to make your way through hordes of Falmer and orbs until you come to a raised bridge that is activated with a button. To lower the bridge, jump into the water and pull the metal piece out of the gears. Behind the bridge will be a Dwemer centurion master level.

After that, you will again see the spirit of Katria and another shard of ethereum.

Search for a fragment of ethereum in the crossing of the deep people:

The main difficulty search for the fourth fragment of etherium there will be a hidden location of the ruins. To find the ruins of the Deep Folk Crossing, you need to get to Bthardamz and go north from it. Almost a few tens of meters and there will be a crossing.

Further, everything is simple, just go upstairs and find a pedestal on which a fragment of ethereum will lie. After that, you will again see Katria, who will say that by collecting all the fragments of etherium, you can determine the location of the forge.

Search for the forge of etherium in the ruins of Btalft:

So, now you have come to the final part of the Lost in the Ages quest, in which you must find the ethereum forge.

To do this, you must go to the ruins of Btalft in the Rift district. Katria will be waiting for you there, who will ask you to put all the fragments of etherium into a special gear.

Further, the mechanism will begin to move and a tower with an elevator will appear from under the ground. After going down and walking a short distance, you will find yourself in the forge of ethereum, a passage to which hot steam blocks. To go further, turn the valves on both sides, and the passage will become open.

After that, you will be followed by whole waves of attacks from Dwemer spiders, spheres, and in the end you will have to fight with a huge enemy, a master blacksmith.

At the end, you should talk to Katria, who will tell you that one of three items can be forged from fragments of etherium: a crown (blessing from two sign stones at once), a staff (summoning a Dwemer sphere or a spider) and a shield (hitting it, the enemy becomes incorporeal for 15 seconds ). After forging one of the items, Katria will thank you and her soul will go to another world.

Summing up:

Now you know the whole process of passing, lost in the ages of skyrim. In general, for completing the task you will receive an excellent reward, and you should not forget about the Zephyr bow.

Where to find ethereum?

Etherium is a rare blue glowing crystal that has a strong magical aura. Long ago, it was discovered by Dwemer miners in Blackreach. Although it has strong magical properties, nothing can be made from it without special tools. The only place where you can do anything with it is the Etheria Forge in the Ruins of Bluthfort.

The question of where to find etherium will certainly arise when you complete the quest "Lost in the Ages".

Search for etherium

  1. In the ruins of Arkntamz, you will meet the ghost of the adventurer Katria, who has been looking for the etherium forge all her life. Read her diary and the book "War for the Aetherium", which lie on the body of Katria on a cliff above the abyss.
  2. The diary says that you can get into the forge only with the help of a special key. The key was divided into 4 parts. The first part is stored in Arkntamz, on top of the ruins. There you will find an ethereal fragment.
  3. The next location is Deep Folk Crossing. You will find the second fragment behind the Dwemer bridge behind the octagonal pedestal.
  4. The third fragment must be sought in the above-ground part of Mzulft, in the so-called pantry of the Dwemer.
  5. The last fragment is located in Raldbthar, near the entrance to the Black Limit.
  6. After that, you will need to get into the Etheria Forge itself, in the ruins of Btalft. Find a sphere with an arrow. There will be a special recess in the pedestal under it, into which you need to insert all four fragments. An elevator will open in front of you.
  7. After you deal with all the enemies, you will need to examine the contents of the chests. At the end of this quest, you will be asked to choose one thing that you can craft in this forge: an ethereal crown, an ethereal staff, or an ethereal shield.
