Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - tips and tricks for the game. Clockwork orange

However, back to the passage of Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Crawford Starrick has lost many of his allies and suppliers, but he is still alive and therefore dangerous. As you understand, in this part of the passage of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in Russian, you will finally have to take the life of the owner of Starrick Industries and the Grand Master of the British Knights Templar. However, this is not the only goal of the Fry twins and their friends. The Assassins must also find one of the Forerunners' pieces of Eden, the Shroud of Eden, which heals whoever wears it, making them virtually invulnerable. And only when Jacob and Evie destroy Starrick and get the Shroud, the passage of the game Assassin's Creed Syndicate can be considered complete.

Sequence #9

Double Trouble

In the first flashback of the final sequence, you have to requisition the Gladstones' invitations to the royal ball in order to get into Buckingham Palace. When you arrive at the place where Mr. and Mrs. Gladstone are supposed to be, you will find that they have already left. Talk to a child nearby and he will show you where to go.

Get in the cart and go to the signpost. Upon arrival, walk along the alley until you see a tent where a private guarded party is being held. Climb to the roof of the tent, throw a smoke bomb and take Mr. Gladstone's invitation from the table.

Mrs. Gladstone can be found at the railway station in Westminster surrounded by police officers. You can stun a few cops, throw a smoke bomb and pick up the invitation, or wait until Mrs. Gladstone retires to a secluded place to meet with a secret admirer. When both invitations are stolen, you will have to steal the Gladstones' wagon and deliver it to the right place.

Dress to Impress

Now you need to steal the uniform of the royal guard so that Abberline can get into Buckingham Palace unhindered. To get the uniform, follow the marker on the map to St. Martin's Church and climb up the building to get a bird's eye view of the situation.

You will see that the district is full of members of the royal guard - there are plenty to choose from. After eliminating , taking his form and hiding the body, get into the wagon and return to Abberline.

Family Politics

In the third flashback of the ninth sequence, in order to get a copy of the plans for Buckingham Palace, Evy must arrange a meeting for Duleep with several London politicians. But first you need to get the royal wagon.

Head into the restricted area and move across the rooftops to avoid the guards, but be careful - there are snipers on the rooftops. In the middle of a large courtyard are three wagons, around which are full of guards. One of these wagons you must steal.

Go to meet Dulip. Next, you need to find three politicians and have Duleep talk to each of them as you drive to your next destination before the time runs out. Try to drive fast, but carefully so as not to damage the wagon. When Dulip leaves you, go to the yard where you stole the wagon from, leave it there and leave quickly, because you obviously will not be happy.

A night to remember

The long-awaited denouement of the passage of Assassin's Creed Syndicate is already very close. You just have to get into Buckingham Palace, deal with Starrick until he does things at the ball, and take possession of the Shroud of Eden. For most of this mission, the twins will be unarmed, and Evie will also be wearing a dress that does not allow you to freely jump back and forth on the rooftops.

As Evie, follow Jacob through the palace to a large courtyard where the twins will split up. Unlike Evie's dress, her brother's costume allows the wearer to run, jump, and climb walls. Therefore, having gained control over Jacob, climb to the far corner of the building, where Abberline will be waiting for you with weapons and news. Starrick's men have already infiltrated the palace and are ready to make a mess there.

You will have only three minutes to destroy six snipers. Try to make things as inconspicuous as possible. Then you will need to kill 16 guards, who are actually impostors sent by Starrick, and free the real guards. Having finished with the impostors, go to the signpost to signal your sister.

Run to the vault entrance where Starrick hid.

Crawford Starrick Boss Battle

Next, you will have a series of quick switches between characters, because you cannot defeat the Grand Master of the Templars alone. Starrick grabbed Jacob, so now as Evie you need to save your brother in less than 4 minutes. However, beware of the strange beams of light that the boss shoots from his artifact, because you will be thrown to the end of the room if you get hit by the beam.

When you get to the master for the first time, he will knock Jacob back, switching to him, and the battle will begin. Starrick's fighting style is similar to that of Lucy Thorne. Once you've dealt enough damage, Starrick will heal with the Shroud, and you'll have to dodge the beams of light again to get to the boss. This time you will have only one and a half minutes at your disposal. When you, playing as Jacob, go around all the beams and get close to the master, he will throw Evie to the other side of the room.

After switching to Evie, go forward again, still avoiding the beams, which will behave differently. Now you need to move not only in the horizontal, but also in the vertical plane. After reaching Starrick, hit him a few times, after which you will switch back to Jacob.

The next marathon from the end of the room to the boss will be the hardest. Luckily, Henry Green will be joining you. When Evie wakes up, Starrick will be too busy to scatter beams, so jump in quickly to help his brother and finish the battle with a spectacular combo.

My congratulations! You saved London from the Templar yoke and took possession of the legendary Shroud of Eden. Enjoy the ending, after which you can focus on finding secrets and replaying individual memories to achieve 100% synchronization.

Victorian London, two assassins instead of one, the prime minister's wife's dog and the headquarters train - all this in our review

Send

To answer the question of why it turned out exactly the way it turned out is quite simple. was the new word in the genre that everyone has been waiting for so long. But, as is the case with Ubisoft, new technologies and mechanics need to be tested for at least a year, so, despite the fact that the game itself turned out just fine, it was full of problems.

She slowed down both on consoles and on powerful PCs, periodically crashed and had certain problems with the balance. At the same time, she could boast of the best picture in the industry at that time (although, wait: no game still looks more beautiful), acquired an interesting stealth and chic Paris with life-size buildings. A few months later, the game was fixed, but the users still had a sediment.

It is clear that inventing everything from scratch for next game no one would, and the only solution was to bring the mechanics and the technical part to the ideal. For this, another big city was needed, a period not very distant historically, and a number of innovations in gameplay. London was just perfect for these purposes. The game was given to the Canadian division Ubisoft- Ubisoft Quebec, which added locomotives, twins and the English queen to the game. And now it appeared on sale, and we, of course, began to study it closely.

Tea with the Queen

The beginning, and indeed the entire first third of the storyline of the game, look extremely banal. Twins Jacob and Evie Fry come to Victorian London from somewhere in the outback to conquer the big city. Evie seeks to continue the work of her late Assassin father, defeat the Templars, and recover the Forerunner artifacts. Jacob, on the other hand, is more prosaic and begins by stating: “We need our own gang with which we will drive out the Templars. Perhaps we'll call her "rooks." London is run by the head of the Knights Templar Starrick (emphasis on "a"), who is the most typical representative of his order - fanatically believes that only control is the key to peace and prosperity, punishes subordinates for every mistake and shamelessly uses child labor in factories and poisons the inhabitants with a special stupefying syrup. With youthful fervor, our heroes undertake to overthrow Starrick, form their own gang and rid London of the villains.

Only somewhere in the middle of the game, the scriptwriters begin to succeed in meaningful dialogues, and the study of the characters of the characters, and some more or less interesting plot moves, although they are still far from the model. We begin to understand that Jacob is a more responsible version of the pirate Edward Kenway (whose house, by the way, we have to visit). He is more interesting to follow than his sister, because he treats everything with ease and humor. Eevee is made from a different dough. She is more like the Indian Connor - she loves to read moralizing, constantly complains that she has to rake up what her brother has done, but at the same time, sometimes she becomes extremely feminine, gives in to emotions and is not alien to romance.

A rather unusual episode for the series is sewn into the game. After the end of the storyline, a rift opens on the map, once in which we find ourselves in London during the First World War. Here, under the leadership of Winston Churchill, we have to hunt for spies in the role of Lydia Fry - Jacob's granddaughter. Be sure to check it out, because this version of London is quite carefully worked out, and the opportunity to look at the life of the Assassins of the early 20th century is unique.

By the end of the story accelerates, and you have time to become attached to the characters. The ending itself was very good. Not as good as in Revelations, but it certainly won't leave anyone indifferent. Personally, two of the best missions in the game seemed to us: the final one, but we won’t tell you anything about it, and the one when Jacob, along with the Prime Minister’s wife and her tiny dog, go on an excursion to one of the most dangerous areas of London. By the number of funny jokes and in a good sense, the absurdity of what is happening, it will easily leave behind the rest of the story as a whole.

By the way, an important lesson in Ubisoft taken out of the low popularity of the storyline in the present. Boring inserts like running around Abstergo are a thing of the past, and we are offered only rare videos between chapters and an enchanting finale, alone worth the entire “modern” storyline from, say,.

Twins

The side missions are also quite ambiguous. Some of them are quite worthy, such as those that are unlocked after completion and play and are given out personally by the queen, but most are classic hunt-and-slay reworkings. As for the historical characters, some of them do not withstand any criticism at all. Remember the power-hungry Pope Rodrogo Borgia or the sly Ben Franklin? So here it didn't smell. However, you yourself will understand everything when you first see a bearded Darwin in a suit and a bowler hat, squatting spying on bandits in some industrial zone. Local luminaries like Darwin, Marx and Dickens generally strongly resemble some kind of feeble-minded old outcasts.

But at first glance, mechanical tasks for capturing areas are surprisingly addictive and generally played very cheerfully. We free the children working in the factories (the phrase "he who does not work, he again sleeps in the pit" will firmly enter our lexicon after these missions), we kill the Templars and hunt the bandits, and then we challenge the villains to the battle for the territory, during which we finish their leader. These episodes are interesting primarily due to the fact that the “Assassin” gameplay itself here is almost perfect for once and allows you to solve the same problem in many ways.

Unlike story missions, where we are clearly told who we should play as, here you can constantly switch between Evie and Jacob, achieving the desired result. And so the introduction of two heroes instead of one turned out to be a brilliant decision. First, they are really different. Each has three branches of talents, which he pumps over the course of the game. Several final skills are different for the heroes, which determine which branch should be emphasized.

Jacob is able to learn many open-ended techniques. hand-to-hand combat, which in the later stages allows him to arrange a natural mayhem, scattering crowds of opponents in all directions. Evie, at maximum pumping, becomes a real master of stealth. Frozen, it may even disappear. And despite the fact that the stealth in the game has become surprisingly good, these skills are very useful to her. In addition, it is logical to distribute a number of talents between the heroes. For example, you can teach someone to pick locks so that when traveling around London, switch to it at the right time and open all the locked locks.

One of the new features of the game is the ability to capture one of the opponents. And, most likely, you will hate it with all your heart. In theory, everything sounds good: you quietly grab one of the enemies and, under his cover, freely walk around the protected area. In fact, you are constantly being forced to kidnap people and take them outside the quest zone past the orderly ranks of the guards. At the same time, the victim constantly kicks, trying to escape and attract the attention of others. Do not repeat our mistakes and download a special skill for the kidnapper at the very beginning of the game.

The combat system itself is gradually becoming less and less like the classic one, and more and more like the one we saw in . It is based on the fact that we fill combos, tirelessly thrashing opponents, breaking through a block from time to time, dodging attacks in time and using tools like a pistol or electric bombs.

"We are Evie and Jacob Fry and now you work for us!"

In, which is typical, for the first time they made a sane economy. That is, even when pumping all the "economic" talents, there is almost always enough money back to back. If such talents are not touched, then they will be forever lacking even more so. You can, of course, get currency from thieves walking around the city who will share the profits, but you don’t come across such people very often. Your gang has its own talent tree that improves certain aspects of London life. They are unlocked for money and all sorts of resources, which often slow down progress on this tree even more, because you can get them only from chests or from the same thieves.

The same resources are needed for crafting. Many costumes, weapons, and tool upgrades are also upgraded for money and resources, and many are completely created from scratch. It all sounds pretty complicated, but it's actually quite easy to figure it out, and there aren't too many aspects to keep an eye on. At the same time, such micromanagement, in general, is good for the game.

What we really liked was the theme of trains. The headquarters of the heroes is located on a train that travels around London in real time, so the developers did not have to work specifically with the “view from the window” of a constantly moving train. It is both unusual and interesting, and looks really cool. In general, the theme of trains is revealed in the game just fine. There are train stations and railway tracks everywhere, and a number of missions take place directly on moving trains.

In general, it has perhaps the most advanced transport system in the series. In addition to trains, there is a full-fledged movement along the Thames, and by unhooking a platform with coal from some barge, we will create a full-fledged traffic jam with signaling steamers.

The roads are full of various crews from carts to omnibuses. It’s unnecessary to talk about movement and racing, firstly, because we wrote about it, and secondly, if you played one of the last parts, then you already imagine it perfectly. Crews speed up, slow down, push each other, they skid around corners, and if you see a horse backing down, then your world will never be the same. Separately, it is worth mentioning the equanimity with which any horse demolishes the pillars and stalls of merchants with its forehead. On the one hand, no one has done full-fledged equestrian traffic in style before, on the other hand, the first acquaintance with it can turn the player into a deep shock. As, by the way, and the local Ragdoll, which gives out something that makes hair stand on end.

In general, it is clearly seen which

This is not Paris for you

But where the game has lost is in the atmosphere. Paris from was magnificent, but you can’t say the same about London. From the very beginning, we are generally thrown into some kind of gray ugly slums, where the graphics seem to be the same as they were. At the same time, the further you go to the more advanced areas of the city, the better it somehow becomes. It is clear that this is happening in London: hence, obviously, constant gloomy fogs, impenetrable grayness and dark green color of the night in the scenery of smoking chimneys and endless factories. Yes, you have to wait another month for the PC version, but even on PS4 the same one looked much better. Sometimes in the game there are sudden glimpses of a beautiful picture: when it rains at dawn, the picture looks just magical, and the same night changes radically during the rain: mysterious lights and wet pavement look very good. Indoor Lighting Syndicate

At the same time, the people making the levels obviously tried. Here you can find a completely realistic Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben, which is visible from almost every point of the city, and many other sights that are really nice to find and learn about. But it was not possible to compare with Paris in terms of atmosphere because of everything described. However, all this can be forgiven for perhaps the best and most polished gameplay in the history of the series and the ability to switch to either of two characters that act completely differently. And this, in fact, is already enough.

Unity at one time confidently and boldly dragged the series to Nextgen, but now Syndicate has carefully taken into account all the mistakes and miscalculations of a self-confident and talented predecessor, while losing a little of that fire, enthusiasm and brilliance, but having honed working mechanics to perfection and getting rid of non-working ones.

Works much more stable and smoother. However, as in most multiplatform projects, the PC version still has its problems. Netizens report sound issues, freezes, crashes, texture glitches, low FPS, and the like. In this article, we will analyze in detail the most common problems and give tips that will help in solving them.

However, before jumping directly to the tips, you need to check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements project:

Thank you for your attention!

Still, she made the right decision by refusing to number her main cash cow, otherwise we would now be dealing with Assassin's Creed 9 or 16 , depending on which franchise projects to include in the list. Well, who counts them: the French, in the manner of their American counterparts, can already simply improve the graphics a little, change the composition of the teams and roll out the game for sale with the signature of the year, to which it is timed. In principle, the way it is, only instead of numbers, sonorous words are invented. So that Assassin's Creed 16- This .

London is the capital of Great Britain.

As with the mentioned sports series of games, new Assassin's Creed will be sold by inertia - thanks for this not so much to the quality of the products as to the marketing pressure of Yubikov. But quality is also not the tenth thing, right? And it doesn’t really matter what happened to him last year: the new engine gave fans of the hoodie brethren not only an excellent picture, but also an equally impressive package of bugs. In this regard, Syndicate Of course, things are much better. But first things first.

Better than it was recently, but worse than it was a long time ago.“One assassin is good, but two ... Well, at least more,” decided the holding, savvy in games, and allocated resources to develop a story about not one, but about two protagonists at once. Acquaintance with the characters, however, the history of the project decided not to burden anyone: a couple of twins, Jacob and Evie Fry, is given to the viewer without idle preparations and God forbid the scenes of growing up. No hide-and-seek with little girls, no fun hunting for animal feces. Instead, no longer the youngest people in between explosions secret laboratories and freight trains decide where the action of the next craft will take place. In London.

So, Victorian England, 1868 (we won’t talk about our time, which from our side will be the biggest gift to Rebecca Crane and Sean Hostings - biting handicapped characters, between heads puffing something inarticulate into the camera). While Evie dreams of the great ancient shroud, Jacob is haunted by the prosperous position of the head templar, Crawford Starrick. The usurper gorges his face on state-owned grubs, sucking life out of London, and not far away swinging at the whole world.

AAA under A. Blame Assassin's Creed that she rapes history in her production is like blaming the wind for blowing. Syndicate acts a little more honestly than its predecessors in the series: the authors do not tie the ears of the assassins to each historical event, instead inviting the Fry twins to mind their own business. But the usual bullying of great people was not without - if wires are connected to the late Darwin, Dickens and Marx, then the energy generated due to their rotation in coffins will be enough to electrify the entire planet.

Double punch.

Each of the heroes is full-fledged, you can play by anyone, including the desired alter ego at any time. Family money is common, inventory is common, even the experience gained for tasks, and that is common. Only here is the development tree for each Fry. No, no, the skills are the same, but the player is free to study them independently, and at high levels there is even a couple of personal abilities. Evie prefers to stay in the background, while Jacob prefers more direct solutions to issues. In any case, the degree of stealth, as always, depends on the player, and a new tool is called upon to help increase it. Well, as “new” - a rethinking of the shinbiao already existing in the series. A harpoon on a rope allows you to instantly be on any roof or stretch a cable between two elevated points. From a stretched horizontal cable, by the way, it’s not bad to make a quick kill - and back to the roof! Batman approves of the use of his gadgets and is a little worried, when will you bring the combat system up to the quality of five years ago?

The problem of the combat system, just like wandering on the roofs, exactly like the main scourge Syndicate, cab control, lies in inertia. She was in, she stayed here. The modern player has long been accustomed to the fact that the action hero, when moving and other actions, needs a little time to demonstrate his advanced motion-capture animation, but the latest assassins are clearly going too far in this matter. Carriages are a separate story. It is clear that no one expected the Porche 911 maneuverability from the developers, but the local transport management model is just put out the lights. For the sake of the modern game market with open world, horses demolish lanterns in their path and ram the wagons of rivals, reminiscent of this confrontation with the battle of rubberized bricks. But Ubisoft and a trip to the store for bread can be turned into a hurricane action movie, so the result is a completely oxymoron: the wind whips in the face, the horses crush each other, everything is blown to pieces ... and the speed of driving at the same time is 20 kilometers per hour. This looks ridiculous in the extreme.

Conveyor revolution. In addition to unsuccessful game modules, in Assassin's Creed Syndicate there is something to see: the city with all its cathedrals, squares, slums and apartments looks majestic, and at the same time boasts the most detailed architecture. It is a pity that a high assortment of human faces was not delivered: all enemies are the same, all passers-by have the same face. Yes, and the crowd has noticeably thinned since last year - but there is no subsidence of FPS. But besides all this, London is a great place for the ideology of confronting street gangs, one of which is led by a duo of protagonists. Rooks - this is the name of this gathering - can come to the aid of the heroes at any moment, and this help is very useful in wall-to-wall battles. In personal missions, partners in best case won't harm. But anything happens.

The technical implementation is far from being at the highest level, the engine Syndicate manages to give tricks against the background of physics: somersaulting wagons and teleporting people, twisting heads and opponents soaring into the sky from one hit ... A gift bouquet of glitches is not as all-consuming as in Unity, but in terms of technical mistakes, the duet Fry, of course, has something to brag about. The game leaves such an impression: AAA-project of the second grade. Half of the replicas are Russian, half are English, an uneven story with a long-awaited rejection of a long and tedious buildup, a large well-developed world with boring monotonous tasks - all this Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Not a failure, but not everyone will crawl to the status of a justified purchase. That is OK: Assassin's Creed 17 it will definitely be better!

A week trip to London will cost you 60 thousand rubles at best, excluding excursions and meals. " Assassin's Creed: Syndicate» is significantly cheaper, and in it, if you wish, you will walk around the capital of Foggy Albion for many more than a week. Of course, you won’t be able to taste the traditional roast beef with Yorkshire pudding here, but the cultural program will be very rich.

You will visit the dark streets of London (fortunately in the game it is much safer than in real life), significant places near the Houses of Parliament, climb Big Ben and St. Paul's Cathedral, take a carriage ride on Tower Bridge twenty-five times and meet many eminent personalities of that time , from the eccentric Dickens to the equally eccentric Darwin.

There are now two main characters, but on the battlefield they do not intersect at all. And this is a serious omission.

London has fallen - with such disappointing words begins a new chapter Assassin's Creed. Despite the successes of the Assassins, with each new part of the series, in each new era, we observe the triumph of the Templars. London during the reign of Queen Victoria, then literally the center of civilization, found itself in the hands of the intelligent and cruel leader of the Templars, Crawford Starrick.

But it is hardly fair to call it a fall. Starrick formed not an ideal, but a working system. Yes, many people suffer, but their suffering forms the foundation of the industrial revolution, the development of the city and all of humanity.

Under the direct control of Starrick were transportation, medicine, banking and, in general, all areas of public life. Even the dirtiest slum nooks and crannies do not escape the attention of the prudent Templar - instead of trying in vain to crush the gang of hangmen rampaging there, he managed to agree with its leader on cooperation and calm his ardor, so the medal has two sides.

Starrick is quick-tempered and tries in every possible way to suppress a cruel maniac in himself. Sometimes his essence still shows itself, and that makes it even more interesting to follow his actions and words.

The hangmen are presented to us as inveterate scoundrels, but the police cannot be found in the slums during the day with fire, and the hangmen in poor neighborhoods become the only force maintaining unsteady order.

On the other side of the barricades, new heroes are the twins Jacob and Evie Fry. Owners of hot hearts, but not too sharp minds, they, having barely heard about the "tyranny" of Starrick, break from Crowley to London to overthrow the Templars, despite the objections of the brotherhood. You should not dream of a cooperative - in the city their paths are separated. Evie quickly switches to searching for a piece of Eden, and Jacob believes that it is much more important to put together his gang and fight back against the hangmen and the Templars. It doesn’t come to family squabbles (it’s a pity, this would add spice to the action), but they won’t come to an agreement until the very end.

The basis of further history is the conflict of two evils: a rigid system with a bunch of excesses and freedom, smacking of anarchism and lawlessness. The actions of the Assassins have often seemed doubtful before, but this time it has become the main theme of the storyline.

Overthrowing Starrick's wards, Jacob will have time to mess up so much firewood that it's time to wonder who the villain is here. The collapse of the transport system, the closure of hospitals throughout the city, an avalanche of counterfeit medicines, the killing of innocents (albeit by mistake) and even the collapse of the pound and undermine the country's economy. And the brotherhood turns a blind eye to everything. After this story, no one will look at the confrontation between the Templars and the Assassins one-sidedly, and for the further development of the plot of the series, this is quite a bold step.

In the course of the plot, the allies of the twins are rarely shown on stage, and there are few entertaining personalities among them, and only Alexander Bell is actively involved in the showdown between the Assassins and the Templars.

Starrick, on the other hand, has assembled a colorful team. What is worth only the insane leader of the "gallows", reminiscent of both the Joker and Sander Cohen from bioshock.

Over time, the story develops, but the trouble is with the plot: “ I have to kill him», « We need to get the gang together», « We must find a piece of Eden», « The Templars have captured the city, we must recapture it". Heroes are very laconic and like to say out loud the obvious things: “ I need to get higher», « We need to get rid of these guys.". Even the first meeting with Dickens (with Dickens, damn it!) is desperately ridiculous: having quickly uttered a remark about the lost manuscript, he suddenly invites the heroes to him and runs away.

One gets the feeling that Ubisoft themselves understand that Assassin's Creed is primarily a virtual journey into a picturesque city of a remarkable era, and not a big adventure, so the cut-scenes are extremely simple, and unpretentious dialogues are godlessly short. Sometimes this “conciseness” even kills the in-game logic: it seems that they have just met a new companion, and already they seem to be sworn brothers.

The cross-cutting story that unfolds in our time has received almost no attention, but you can find an impressive additional episode where you can find answers to many questions.

Bad old England

Upon arrival in London, you will immediately fall into a routine. A city of great opportunities, you say? Are you waiting for London to immediately show you a spectacular adventure? And here it is not. Go free the children in the factories, clearing floor after floor, then clear the quarters and eliminate the leaders of the enemy gang.

It's not that we haven't seen routine in open world games: in Batman: Arkham Knight you can do street mine clearance or take part in races, and in the same “ The Witcher» - searching for hiding places. But all this is optional, and " Syndicate» for some reason makes engage in routine, and even at the very beginning of the game.

Feminists may be pleased. Unwashed female thugs here have to be killed as often as men. Why there are so many of them in Victorian London is another question.

But after the prologue, you don’t expect such a dirty trick. There is both intensity and staging - a train wreck, an escape from a collapsing building, with juicy angles in the spirit and the latter. But then ... Gameplay mechanics are mostly familiar to the series: follow the character, steal the key, knock out the target, chase the villain. They added only one: sometimes you have to kidnap intractable citizens. You need to sneak up on them from the back and, twisting your arms, drag them to the wagon, avoiding the "gallows" and the police, and then take them to the police captain. They will notice - a fight will begin, and the prisoner will immediately wash off.

Another thing is that the old structure still works. Whether you like it or not, clearing new areas, searching for chests, completing story missions and side quests (sometimes quite good, which is worth only the detective series "Horrible Crimes"; however, it is only in the PS4 version) is addictive. Too bad it's not in the most pleasant way. You understand with your head that you are doing what the hell, but your hands stubbornly lead the hero to capture another territory.

To liberate the areas captured by the hangmen, you need to complete a set of the same type of assignments (all the same steal-kiddle), which will lead to a poorly staged wall-to-wall skirmish in which everyone runs, funny pushes and fires in all directions. Voila, the area of London is under your control. The main thing is to sew the leader.

Behind the leaders, however, there are no stories: it's just a goal, nothing more, so when you kill them, you don't feel any emotions. Here the system of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor: if the leaders moved around London and fought with each other for the right to lead, and you, as befits a real assassin, tried to catch them by surprise, it would be more interesting. And in this case, it would be interesting to fight for the districts of London, gradually building up your own army. But no: there is a target - kill it, and that's it.

There is no need to talk about the effectiveness of the battles: the heroes always get stuck in passers-by.

What will your gang give you? "Evil" bandits on the streets will come across less often, and native "rooks" more often. Companions can be used for their intended purpose, sending them to cut throats or distract law enforcement officers. Just go to the "rooks" on the street and indicate the target - they know what to do. And in the battle, the “rooks” will help you out more than once, so it still makes sense to conquer the areas.

You can develop your gang. At the beginning of the game, the twins take over the train and set up a mobile headquarters in it, from where they direct the development of the organization. You can give wagons to the "rooks", improve their performance, hire homeless children as spies and carry out a lot of other useful transformations.

"Base", by the way, is not faceless, the colorful Agnes McBean works on it, in the original speaking with a caustic Irish accent. She makes sure that the train generates income (it can be increased), and Jacob and Evie generously place their belongings everywhere, from which you can guess the details of their biography.

Some missions are somewhat reminiscent of World of Warcraft. Find three chests of spare parts... oh, it's like we've gone down to Gnomeregan again. And this is not a compliment in this case.

The stealth mechanics have hardly changed at all, the full set of both shortcomings and advantages inherent in the series has moved to Syndicate. Let's not focus on this - whoever is not tired will continue to play Assassin's Creed, and for those who are tired of putting up with problems, it is better to skip the new part.

Let's talk briefly about one small innovation. You now have a "noise ring" at your disposal, thanks to which it is easy to understand where the opponents are. On the one hand, the element of surprise disappears. On the other hand, there are not many tools for stealth in Assassin’s Creed, and there are always a lot of enemies, which is why it’s rare that a mission can be completed “cleanly”. Therefore, such a small indulgence came in handy.

At the same time, Jacob's methods are still more effective, even though Evie is “sharpened” for stealth three times: we break into the crowd, throw everyone with throwing knives in half with electric jamming bombs, and finish off the surviving poor fellows in hand-to-hand combat.

There is some disappointment when it comes to eliminating especially important Templars. The developers took a successful mechanic from unity, thanks to which the target could be killed in dozens of ways, and crumpled it. You can forget about Parisian palaces - the “levels” have become smaller, and buildings rarely have more than a couple of floors and a dozen rooms. All entrances and exits are initially marked on the map, and the victim lives not very far from the front door. It's a shame, because the mission from the prologue, on the contrary, demonstrates huge spaces with a bunch of options for approaching the goal, which creates a certain mood.

When exploring London or completing side errands, you can freely switch between the twins. But in story quests, the hero is chosen for you.

Fears about the cat hook were confirmed. The hero always cannot cling to the neighboring building, but at the same time he easily throws the hook almost over the horizon.

Another innovation" Syndicate» - horse-drawn carriages that can be stolen just like in GTA(and ram other crews with them, just like in Sleeping Dogs ). The physical model of the carriages, of course, is arcade-like: as soon as you take the reins in your hands, you will surely smash half of London on the move. But that's just fine. The horse, knocking out sparks with its hooves, easily knocks down poles, and the carriage rams other participants in the movement like a tank. Local crews know how to drive backwards.

In a word, all the inputs for spectacular and at the same time ridiculous situations are in abundance here.

Sobriety, punctuality, diligence

Fortunately, on the streets of London you can meet not only thugs, but also decent people. Some of us have known each other since high school. Playing players against historical figures is the most enduring and enjoyable tradition of the series.

« Syndicate”and does not think to break it and introduces us to Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Dickens and other celebrities. True, in the course of plot ups and downs, faces familiar from history textbooks do not flash so often, but you can work with them separately during “after-hours” time - everyone has a whole chain of their own tasks. They are arranged in a rustic way, but the stories behind them are exciting. Karl Marx, for example, talks so convincingly about trade unions and the rights of the proletariat that he wants to help, even though in the process it will again have to carry hostages and hunt down bandits.

All historical figures have their own chains of optional tasks. Structurally, they are primitive, but the stories in them are truly fascinating.

Among others, Charles Dickens and his "ghost club" stand out. This is a kind of "mythbusters" of Victorian England, dispelling tales of paranormal phenomena. In the company of the famous writer, we will not only visit the most mysterious nooks and crannies of London, looking for evidence of the existence of otherworldly forces, but also hunt for a maniac who extols Jack the Ripper (by the way, there will be a separate plot addition about him). It is these activities that allow you to fully merge with the era and feel its spirit. If it were not for the mean gameplay content, then for such side quests the game could be forgiven for many shortcomings.

The game allows you to look at the famous figures of the past not just as a part of history, but also as ordinary living people. Charles Darwin, in a fit of indignation, tearing off the handle from Richard Owen's carriage, is remembered almost better than the entire storyline of the game.

As usual in Assassin's Creed, the city is filled with all sorts of chests and other things that awaken the instinct of gathering. Everything will be used: something - to improve equipment (one's own or the gang), and something just for the sake of the plot. Resources can also be bought for real money: the brotherhood will not mind if you suddenly decide to invest your hard-earned money in them.

Gathering, in theory, should stimulate the spirit of exploration, but does not stimulate - London wants to climb around in its entirety and without any chests and "Helix anomalies". From year to year, Ubisoft pays more and more attention to the environment. Drowning in smog and sticky fog, London is incredibly attractive. You can leisurely stroll through the streets, watch the residents going about their business, and explore the sights for hours, even without any gameplay.

But the developers did not forget about the dark sides of that time either. Eternally smoking chimneys rising against the backdrop of the Queen Elizabeth Tower, traffic jams and raging horses in narrow streets, children working around the clock on casting metal, drunken fights and murders in the doorways - the image is far from rosy. Indeed, everything was
