Playing dice online. Dice

The advantage of an online dice generator over regular dice is obvious - it will never get lost! The virtual cube will cope with its functions much better than the real one - the manipulation of the results is completely excluded and you can only hope for His Majesty the case. Dice online is, among other things, great entertainment in your spare time. The generation of the result takes three seconds, warming up the excitement and interest of the players. To simulate dice rolls, you just need to press the "1" button on the keyboard, which allows you not to be distracted, for example, from an exciting board game.

When we hear such a phrase as "Dice", then the casino association immediately comes, where they simply cannot do without them. To begin with, let's just remember a little what this subject is.

Dice are dice, on each side of which numbers from 1 to 6 are represented by dots. When we throw them, we are always in the hope that exactly the number we have chosen and desired will fall out. But there are times when the cube, falling on the edge, does not show the number. This means that the one who threw it like that can choose any.

It also happens that the cube can roll under the bed or closet, and when it is removed from there, the number changes accordingly. In this case, the bone is thrown over again so that everyone can clearly see the number.

Dice roll online in 1 click

In a game involving ordinary dice, it is very easy to cheat. To get the right number, you need to put this side of the cube on top and twist it so that it remains the same (only the side part is spinning). This is not a complete guarantee, but the winning percentage will be seventy-five percent.

If you use two dice, then the chances are reduced to thirty, but this is a considerable percentage. Due to cheating, many player campaigns do not like to use dice.

Just the same, our wonderful service works precisely in order to avoid such situations. It will be impossible to cheat with us, as the online dice roll cannot be faked. A number from 1 to 6 will appear on the page in a completely random and uncontrolled way.

Convenient cube generator

A very big advantage is that the online dice generator cannot get lost (especially since it can be bookmarked), and an ordinary small dice can easily disappear somewhere. Also a huge plus will be the fact that the manipulation of the results is completely excluded. The generator has a feature that allows you to select from one to three dice to roll at the same time.

The online dice generator is a very interesting entertainment, one of the ways to develop intuition. Use our service and get instant and reliable results.

A die (in English "dice", derived from the Old French dé, and also from the Latin datum, meaning "given; what is given or played") is a small object that, when dropped on a flat surface, occupies one of several possible stable provisions. Dice are used as a means of generating random numbers in gambling. They are also widely used in board and role-playing games.

The traditional dice is a dice, each of the six sides of which are marked with numbers from 1 to 6. The purpose of the dice is to show a randomly determined integer from one to six, each of which is equally possible due to the correct geometric shape. There are a huge number of varieties of dice: in shape - dice can be polyhedral or irregular in shape, in terms of information content - symbols instead of numbers can be applied to their faces. Differences like these allow dice to be used to produce results that differ from the classic 1-2-3-4-5-6 pattern. There are also dice that are weighted on one side or with other changes that are invisible to the eye, designed to rig the results. The purpose of such dice is to deceive other players for the sake of winning money or just for fun, such as tricks.

A die is usually made in the form of a cube with numbers from 1 to 6 marked on its sides (they are usually arranged so that the sum of the numbers on diametrically opposite sides is 7). A dice can be considered as a random number generator in an integer interval with almost the same probability of falling out of all numbers in the interval. Such generators are denoted by 1dN.

So, for example, a regular die is 1d6; tossing a coin is the work of the 1d2 generator, and so on.

The abbreviation MdN stands for the sum of M applications of 1dN. It should be noted that MdN gives integers in the interval . The probability of a number falling out of this interval grows as you approach its middle (see binomial distribution).

So, for example, using a d4 die and rolling it twice, we get a 2d4 generator giving the following options:

Zocchiedron

An example of a generator that does not fall under the definition of MdN: a deck of cards into which no drawn cards are returned. It will be 1dN only for the first attempt, the distributions of subsequent attempts will depend on the previous results.

Other excavations of ancient burials of the Indus civilization point to the South Asian origin of dice. The game of dice is mentioned as an Indian game in the Rig Veda, Atharva Veda, and in the list of Buddha's games that he would not play. In the Indian epic Mahabharata, Yudhishthira and the Kauravas dice the northern principality of Hastinapura, over which a war begins.

According to Greek tradition, dice were invented by Palamedes in order to entertain bored Greek soldiers awaiting battle near Troy.

Modern dice owe their origin to the ancient game of skill called “grandmothers”, which was played mainly by women and children. Game process consisted in throwing small bones of ungulates, pasterns, from where the name of the game appeared. The four-sided shape of the pastern became the first dice shape in history, and the material used to make it gave the name we still use today - "bone". Modern Mongols still use such tetrahedral “step” dice for games and predictions. In addition to the classical bones of domestic animals, materials such as ivory, wood and plastic - cellulose acetate - are used to make modern dice. In historical annals, dice and money games are often confused, but each of them has gone its own way from ancient times and is still popular today.

Gambling with two or three dice was a very popular form of entertainment in Greece, especially among the upper classes. They were constantly played during feasts.

In the Middle Ages, dice was a favorite pastime of knights; there were schools of the game and guilds of players. After the fall of feudalism, the Landsknechts gained a reputation as the most scandalous dice players of the day; the cubes were decorated with skillful carvings depicting people and animals. In France, both knights and ladies played dice, despite new and new laws, including the prohibitions of St. Louis in 1254 and 1256.

The markings on Chinese dominoes evolved from the markings on the dice.

Device

Standard dice are small dice, most commonly 1.6 cm across, whose faces are numbered from one to six, usually with round dots called points. Traditionally, the opposite sides of the cube add up to seven, with faces 1, 2, and 3 having a common vertex, these faces can be located clockwise or counterclockwise with respect to the vertex. If faces 1, 2 and 3 go counterclockwise, the die is called right and vice versa. Western dice are usually right handed while Chinese dice are left handed.

The points on the dice are arranged in a special order, as shown in the figure on the right. On Asian dice, the scoring order is similar to European, but the scoring is closer to the center of the face; one point is larger than the others, and four points are colored red. In some of the old sets, one point was indicated by an indentation without staining. The black face of "one" and the combination of black and white colors on the face of "four" were considered unlucky, so red, the color of luck in Chinese culture, was supposed to neutralize this sign. The word for four (四 si) in Chinese sounds like the word for death (死 si) and is considered unlucky. It is likely that the red "fours" are of Indian origin.

The result of throwing a dice is considered random, since there are such uncertain factors in this process as the movement of the thrower's hand and the position of the die before the throw. Thus, the dice can be considered the prototype of the random number generator. Some people believe that dice-styled glasses cause a slight bias, but no research has been done to support this idea. By the way, this may be true for Asian dice with an enlarged image of one point. Casino dice are produced with filled markings, which confirms the even distribution of random numbers.

As soon as dice games appeared, there were immediately people who wanted to win in any way. I'm not talking about threats to the opponent in the game, but only about loaded dice, i.e. specially processed dice, which, when thrown, gives the combination of indices (the sum of numbers) necessary for the sharper. What did cheaters resort to in the Middle Ages, and is still preserved in the arsenal of modern dishonest players?

I'll start with a general description of what a dice is and what a regular or fair dice is! A regular bone is a six-sided cube, sometimes with rounded edges. There are games where dice with a different number of faces are used, but for now we will only talk about dice. So, modern dice can be divided into two types: perfect for the casino and imperfect for home game. But in both cases, the basic rules for fair play are observed:

  • the faces of the cube must be equal in size - a cube for that and a cube!
  • the die must be centered, i.e. faces have equal chances of being dropped
  • each face contains its own index (points) with a value from 1 to 6
  • the sum of opposite faces is seven:
    1 vs 6
    2 vs 5
    3 vs 4

To avoid fraud, modern casinos use transparent smooth-cut acrylic dice, with their own series and casino brand, which ensure fair play.

And now, slowly, about how cheaters spur fate. Now we will not talk about the technique of a controlled throw - a cheating technique, when dice thrown in a special way give out the desired result with almost one hundred percent probability. Now about the manufacture of special bones, mechanically modified to suit your needs, i.e. loaded or loaded dice (Eng. Loaded Dice). Of course, no one will make dice that will produce an unfavorable combination - the sum of the numbers on the faces.

loaded dice change the outcome of the roll

The more money in the game of dice is put, the more likely it is that someone will have a desire to change the course of the game in their favor, influencing the roll. Of course, the use of loaded dice can also be found in the game at low stakes, but still big game more likely to attract cheaters and scammers.

The first mention of loaded dice (in the English version it sounds like Crooked Dice) refers to the Ancient World. In archaeological excavations in the East, the Middle East and South America, specimens of dice are found that are clearly related to the dice. There are even references to dishonest dice in the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata dating back to the twentieth century BC.

The rules of the game of dice set their profitable and unprofitable combinations of indices. Changing the correct dice changes the course of the game in favor of who uses such loaded dice.

changing dice

Loaded dice in capable hands are a benefit to their owner. By replacing honest dice with loaded ones during the game, such a player can get an advantage in the game of up to 99.9 percent. Reception of substitution of cubes occurs as follows. Holding his dice secretly in his hand, the sharper takes the dice for throwing from the table, and now holding them in his hand, he throws out his dice. There may be variants when the correct bones are not left in the hand, but are thrown to the knees. Of course, at the end of the game, the fake dice are removed from the game by the sharper.

change in the cubic shape of the bone

There are several options here. First of all, a change in the cubic shape. Imagine how the roll of the die can be affected if at least one of the edges is beveled at a slightly different angle. And if the dice is not a cube at all? And it's not hard to check that either. Just a couple of millimeters ground off changes the cube to a rectangular cuboid, where the wider face has a greater chance of falling out. Another possibility is also possible: one of the faces is convex, which actually excludes it from the combination.

Such loaded dice, mechanically modified, were widely used in the game of craps, where the combination of "seven" or "eleven" is profitable already on the first point. The imperceptible substitution of the casino dice for their "necessary" dice allowed cheaters to win. What is there to talk about cheaters! At the dawn of the gambling business, gambling establishments themselves often resorted to cheating tricks, replacing dice with those where just these same 7 and 11 did not fall out. Stickman very cleverly introduced and displayed such wrong bones in craps, changing the advantage of the casino in his favor.

I want to tell you that a concave edge, creating a vacuum effect, can also affect the throw, especially if the throw is made on a rough surface.

The mechanical change of the faces of the cube, sometimes completely imperceptible to the eye, can also affect the outcome of the game. The standard beveled edge angle is 45 degrees. Changing the bevel of several faces to sixty changes the roll. It also affects the throw and is sharper than the standard edge angle. Of course, in a throw, a dice will tend to stop at a sharper angle.

Here is a set I found on the Internet for sale. It is proposed to make dice with a shift in the center of gravity, and you can choose which side to “remove” from the roll, i.e. weight.

displacement of the center of gravity of the cube

Another physical change to the die that affects the result is the addition of weight to one of the faces of the die. As you understand, it is not the form that changes, but the content. Yes Yes! Literally, content. The dice was drilled on the desired face and filled with a weighting agent. The hole was then skillfully sealed with bone material. And then it's a matter of technology. The roll was more likely to throw away the indexes needed for dice, since the dice lands on a heavier side. Modern dice are made, as a rule, of plastic, which, when heated, “flows” under the influence of gravity. Now, if a dice is heated in the oven and, most importantly, pulled out in time, the heated face will change its density and become heavier. Such dice are called "baked".

The second option for changing the center of gravity is to leave a void under the edge of the cube. The desired face is made hollow, i.e. the edge becomes lighter and its index falls more often in the throw, because again the opposite edge is heavier and the bone falls on it.

mercury dice

A feint with dice bordering on the effect on the health of a person reworking a dice. Mercury has the ability to roll, it does not fill the entire space. The essence of the loaded transfer dice with mercury is as follows. The cube is drilled from one face to the other. Further, the hollow part is filled with mercury, but not in full. The hole made is sealed. When playing, some skill in throwing is required, calculated on the fact that heavy mercury will not have time to roll from one side to the other. Glancing throw is preferred, i.e. when the bone does not tumble, but slides along the ejected surface. However, such a throw already belongs to the category of fraudulent, however, mercury gives a high probability of falling out of the face that was set by the thrower's hand.

convex indices

Perhaps these are the most easily palpable changes in the dice. The side of the dice with raised indexes causes the dice to roll to the correct side. Although not as effective a change, these loaded dice do occur.

elastic loaded dice

We are not talking about rubber dice. Rather, there are problems of terminology; in my opinion, the most successful and resilient name for this type of loaded dice has been chosen. But I will explain the essence in detail. A certain face or faces are ground down and replaced with a material that is the same in appearance, but different in elasticity. When thrown, the replaced face has the ability to bounce and roll to the other face.

sticky dice

These loaded dice are made on the principle of elastic dice, but only the material that replaces one of the faces is sticky. Or the edge is covered with a special composition. Under certain conditions (for example, a player blows on the cubes before throwing), the properties of the material change, and the cube, when in contact with the table surface, literally sticks to the desired (more precisely, unnecessary) face.

smooth dice

Again, we are not talking about a perfectly smooth dice on all sides. Only one of the faces will be polished to perfection, while the other sides will be rough. The difference is so small that it's hard to feel. But this is enough for such a die to stop on the smoother side with a skillful throw of the card sharper.

Pay attention to the inscription on the package “Loaded Dice”, and below (translated into Russian) “Guaranteed roll 7 or 11”. The faces of these transparent acrylic cubes show two sixes on the left dice and three fives on the right. These loaded dice are also on sale in online stores.

distorted bone markings

The category of these dice belongs to the category of fraud, calculated on the inattention of players. The sum of the numbers on opposite regular dice is seven. Indexes from one to six. Double dice have a different indexing, in which the loss of some sums of numbers is not possible in principle. Of course, such bones will not have an index greater than six. But two dice with face indices 1-1-3-3-5-5 will never roll a seven. Whereas two dice with indices 2-2-5-5-6-6 are guaranteed to give you 7 or 11.

There is another option for changing the marking: all faces of a loaded die will have the same index. But such dice are used very rarely, since only a drunk player can miss all six sixes.

magnetic loaded dice

Here we will talk about a more thoughtful fraud. Again, mechanical inclusions in the face of a dice, but now metal, allows you to get the desired result when using a certain surface. What is a defined surface? This is a special table that, with the help of switched on electromagnetic radiation, stops such a loaded dice in the throw necessary for the sharper. Or in the throw necessary for the gambling establishment. If another player rolls the dice, the magnet may be disabled. Here, of course, there is a percentage of luck for a player who does not resort to cheating. However, magnetic loaded dice are almost a 100% success in the game.

Attention! it can be hazardous to health

Any sane player, and we rank ourselves among such reasonable players, will never resort to dishonest tricks and tricks. People! Dice games do not even carry the element of bluff inherent in poker. Play honestly, relying on fate. And if you really want to use loaded dice in the game, then do it with friends who will laugh with you at a successful draw. Categorically do not use loaded dice when playing with strangers. Dangerous for health, at least!

how to avoid cheating

If the dice are not made of transparent acrylic, how can you check if the center of gravity is shifted? It's simple. Dip the dice into the water several times. It is quite possible to use a glass with juice, transparent, of course. If at each throw into the water, the dice shows you the same index, then the dice is loaded with a displaced center of gravity. The weighted face will topple down each time, and if the face is hollow, it will be on top (the bone won't even fully submerge in the liquid). In principle, the weighted edge can also be felt by touch. But I never succeeded. But water helps. No no! don't think that my every dice game requires checking the dice for "fairness". I prefer playing with friends.

This, in fact, is the first and foremost rule of how to avoid cheating. Don't play with strangers. But with your own - play, but check. That is why I continue to teach how to recognize loaded dice.

Take a pair of dice in your hands and check one by one how the faces of the cubes touch. This is necessary to determine whether the faces are equal, whether there are convex or concave surfaces, whether there is a line of the face to an obtuse angle. Convex edges can be detected by placing a dice against a flat table surface. Press the bones in turn with each side, checking to see if they roll.

And now we check the indices on the faces. Are all six available? 1-2-3-4-5-6. And the sum of the edges. At the beginning of the article, I mentioned that regular dice have a sum of opposite faces equal to seven. Loaded dice, designed for the inattention of the player, are perhaps one of the most common.

The replaced face of the cube with another material can be felt. Run your fingernail along each face to make sure they are made from the same material.

By simply feeling the edges of the dice, the indices are checked for convexity. Ideally, the indices should not protrude above the surface of the side of the die.

Some belief of the players to blow on the dice before throwing can be a sign to check the dice for stickiness of the material. Perhaps one of the faces is painted with a substance that, when heated (the player's breath), becomes viscous and begins to stick to other surfaces.

In any case, checking the sides of the bones for smoothness or roughness also does not hurt. The smoother side will fall down when thrown.

It may seem that making a perfectly even dice with your own hands is quite difficult, especially when you consider that sides of a dice should be perfectly equal. After all, only then the game with a cube can be considered truly honest and not biased. But the complexity of creating this play accessory is slightly exaggerated. We offer a way to make a dice, easy and fast.

Instructions for making a dice, its faces.

1. We choose the material from which we will make a cube.

2. We make from this material, if possible, an exact cube with sides of 1 cm.

3. We remove chamfers up to 1 mm from the sides and corners of the cube. In this case, we put the file at 45 degrees. Then it is desirable to polish the product.

4. We put numbers on each face of the resulting cube. The points of the numbers can be made either with a microdrill, or marked with paint, or even, having first drilled holes, paint the recesses of the holes with paint.

Numbers are applied in the following order:

  • put six points on the upper face (three points on each side);
  • on the opposite, which has become the bottom, we apply one point (in the center);
  • on the left we put four points (in the corners);
  • on the right we apply three (diagonally);
  • on the front we put five points (one, as in the case of a unit, in the center, four more, as in the case of a four, in the corners);
  • on the back there should be two (at opposite corners).

Check if the numbers are correct. The sum of the numbers on opposite sides of the die must equal seven.

5. We cover our cube with colorless varnish, while leaving one face untouched. The dice will lie on this face until the rest of the faces dry. Then turn over and cover it too.

6. It is advisable to download the virtual dice program. And for this we take a mobile phone and install the BASIC computer language interpreter on it. It can be easily downloaded from many sites. Run the installed interpreter and enter:

  • 10 A%=MOD (RND(0),4)+3
  • 20 IF A%=0 THEN GOTO 10
  • 30 PRINT A%40 END

Now, every time you run it with the RUN command, this program will generate random numbers from 1 to 6.

7. To check if they turned out even sides of a dice, we use it to get six dozen random numbers, and then count how many times each of them occurs. If the faces of the dice are even, then the probabilities for each of the numbers on the dice should be almost equal.

8. Nowadays, board games are not in use. But still, do not forget the order of their conduct. We draw a map with the paths of the game, or maybe we have a store-bought one lying around somewhere. Then each player puts his chip in the initial field, and the game started. We roll the dice in a circle one after another. Each player has the right to move his chip exactly as many spaces as the die he threw showed him. Next, follow the instructions. If you hit the “skip move” division, then we rest for the next round, “repeat the move” we throw again in a row, and so on. The winner is the one whose nerves do not give up and whose chip, in the end, will be the first to reach the finish line.

Instruction

Choose the material for making the cube, taking into account the tools and skills you have.

Make an exact cube with a side of about ten millimeters from the material of your choice.

Chamfer about 1 mm at 45 degrees from the sides, and then from the corners of the cube. Polish the product if necessary.

Put numbers on the sides of the cube. The points necessary for this can be made in the form of recesses by drilling them with a microdrill, or applied with paint, or obtained in a combined way, first making recesses and then filling them with paint. Apply six dots on the upper face (two rows of three dots);
On the bottom face, apply one point (in the middle);
On the left side, apply four points (two rows of two points each);
On the right side, apply three points (diagonally);
On the front face, apply five points (four in the form of a 2 by 2 matrix and one in the middle);
On the back face, apply two points (diagonally). You can check whether the designations of numbers are correctly distributed along the faces of the cube by adding the numbers on opposite faces: for each of their combinations, the sum should be equal to seven.

Cover all sides of the cube, except for one, on which it will lie when dried, with a colorless varnish. Let it dry, then turn the product over so that this side is on top. Coat it with varnish and then also let it dry.

Get a virtual dice. To do this, take your mobile and install the BASIC language interpreter into it by downloading it from the appropriate site. After starting the interpreter, enter the following program:
10A%=MOD(RND(0),4)+3
20 IF A%=0 THEN GOTO 10
30 PRINT A%
40 END Each time you run the RUN command, this program will generate a random number between 1 and 6.

To check the cube for accuracy, use it to get several tens, and then count how many times each of them occurs. For a precisely made die, the probabilities of each roll should be close.

While the popularity of board games is quite low these days, don't forget the order in which they are played. At the beginning, the chips of all players are placed on starting cell. The players take turns throwing the dice. Having received a random number, the player moves his chip forward by the corresponding number of cells. If the cell on which the result will be contains an instruction (skip the next move, repeat the move, move to a given place on the playing field, etc.), this instruction should be followed. The player who first reaches the finish cell of the field wins.

playing bones used as a random number generator in backgammon, in board games, in poker, monopoly and other games, as well as in divination and prediction of the future. playing bones can be varied in shape and material of manufacture (plastic, wood, metal, paper).

You will need

  • Sheet of paper, cardboard, ruler, pencil, marker, glue.

Instruction

Scheme-sweep bones(cube) is easy to do. Since the cube consists of six faces, the same size - squares, we will draw them. First, draw 4 squares that have common sides, located in the same row. Next, to the second of the drawn squares, we add 2 more squares on the sides. Before cutting out the diagram, you need to draw the sides on the outside of the squares, so that you can then use them to glue the cube.

To prepare, carefully cut out the template and bend the paper along the dotted lines (these will be the faces of the cube).

Then, for the strength of the cube, we prepare a frame made of thin cardboard, also according to the template in accordance with the size of the cube. We will insert this frame inside the cube. Based on practical experience, it is desirable to make the frame template one millimeter smaller than the size of the cube template.

Now we insert the finished frame inside the cube template and paste over it. The cube is ready!

Another version of the game bones(cube) is remarkable in that it is convenient to take it with you on the road, as it can be folded and stored flat. You can make a pattern of this cube on a printer, stick it on cardboard and make a cube in the same way as the first option (see above).
