In past ratings, we have compared and considered others, and today we will talk about the best PC races, which are ideal for children and adults.

While we were preparing this rating, one interesting detail became clear - several games under the same brand - Need for Speed, which translated into Russian means "Need for Speed", were able to get into the top. If you look at the list, you will see as many as four games, and this is no coincidence.

The fact is that many racing fans consider this series to be the best in the history of the genre. And it is the only PC racing series that has officially become an esports discipline, like Dota 2 or Counter-Strike.

In online mode, you can compete with 12 opponents at the same time. And since the world is completely open, then racers will be able to compete against you not only on PC, but also on Xbox One.

Forza Horizon 3 has many features that set it apart from other similar games. There is no need to wait for the start of the race - you can bump into someone right on the track and arrange an online race. If you lose, you can change your car or take part in competitions, earn money and improve your car. As a last resort, buy a buggy and drive through the sands if you are tired of the competition.

Forza Horizon 3 is fun to play alone and with friends. The gameplay and stunning views will give you a lot of unforgettable emotions and impressions. 14. Race Driver: GRID

Fourteenth place goes to Race Driver: GRID, a classic racing game in which you play the role of an aspiring driver. Your main task is to build a career, buy new models with the money you won and win, win, win. The career mode is simple enough: you are immediately introduced to the course that the main task is to win, and money, repairs, tuning and everything else is the problem of the mechanic and manager.

The developers (British company Codemasters) tried and implemented several chips, due to which Race Driver: GRID entered our rating. Firstly, there are sponsors here who will definitely appear and place their logos on the car if you win. And secondly, you can organize a team, take associates into it and release them into the race instead of you. Who knows, maybe they'll do better.

We recommend Race Driver: GRID for those looking for racing for weak PCs. The game has minimal requirements, good graphics and interesting gameplay components - the opportunity to build a career, get not only moral, but also material support from sponsors, choose symbols and hire a team to participate in competitions.

13. Test Drive Unlimited 2

We give the thirteenth place to Test Drive Unlimited 2 - an incredibly beautiful and decent racing game in Ibiza. When you start the game, you will feel that everything seems to be happening in reality: the bright sun gradually tilts towards sunset, then the first stars appear, and then night falls.

The competitions themselves are quite standard, there is nothing surprising or extraordinary about them. But the sightseeing races are simply mesmerizing - hundreds of kilometers of roads, winding routes, panoramic landscapes. You won't notice how the timer in the upper corner counts down for over an hour.

There are many cars in Test Drive Unlimited 2 and they are divided into three classes - racing, SUV and classic. You can simulate the conditions of arrival and select what you like best: on the plain or off-road, on the coast or in the city, during the day, at night and other conditions.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is not particularly surprising, but for the stunningly beautiful views and landscapes, the game is in our top. In it you are guaranteed a lot of pleasant impressions. For example, after an hour of playing, I really want to go to the sea.

12. The Crew

Twelfth place we give The Crew - very unusual races in which you lead a team of four friends. Each has its own story, but all are united by one goal - to win the American racing championship. To do this, they create a team and participate in competitions, travel to US cities - New York, San Francisco, Miami and others. You will complete tasks, see the beautiful landscapes of the United States, be able to arrange an online race with friends, and much more. But all these opportunities pale in front of the technical component.

Before each race, you can install suitable equipment for the weather, choose tires, radar detectors and much more, which will make the trip easier and help to get away from the police.

The graphics are on the level - everything looks very realistic, cars break down, objects are destroyed. In general, everything is as it should be in real life.

The Crew is in 12th place for realistic graphics, awesome tuning options and race car decoration. Go ahead.

11. WRC 7

Eleventh place goes to WRC 7, a dynamic rally racing simulator. The game is available immediately on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the quality of gameplay on all platforms is almost the same - it feels like in reality you are driving a rally car, and the navigator on the side gives directions and comments on everything that happens.

The WRC 7 is simply a classic rally done in a modern style. You have to go through more than a dozen races in single player mode, or dive into races on the network and fight for the title of winner with other people. In the course of the story, new cars will become available to you, which you need to access the steeper stages.

The main features of WRC 7 are realism and beautiful execution. For the sake of completeness, we advise you to connect a game steering wheel, but everything is just fine without it: the car flies along the track, damage is felt immediately, all bumps and holes change trajectory at the moment, so you constantly have to brake with the hand brake. Almost the same as in a real race.

WRC 7 is a relatively new game that has managed to implement the latest trends in image processing. Simply put, the picture on the screen is so beautiful that the landscape outside the car window is distracting and you can crash into a tree. True, sometimes everything becomes unrealistic, especially when the track passes in snowy areas or in the rain. But these are all little things that pale in front of everything else. Plug in your steering wheel, play WRC 7 on a large monitor and you're in a great mood.

10. Need for Speed: Underground 2

Tenth place is for Need for Speed: Underground 2, the best street racing game of all time, released over 14 years ago. But despite this, the game is still relevant and very popular - many people are "cut" into it to this day.

Need for Speed: Underground 2 is all about street racing, drifting, tuning and other tricks that everyone has seen in the Fast and the Furious movies. You will enter the open world and will be free to drive and explore the night city of Bayview, explore 5 different areas and race with the most fearless pilots.

The plot revolves around the stubborn and skillful racer Caleb Callan Reis. In his role, you must fight your way from the bottom up to become the king of the night streets. In the game, almost all races are organized by a pretty brunette named Rachel Teller, who accompanies the main character throughout the game. Auto mechanic Tommy is responsible for the amount of horsepower of the car and for its aesthetic appearance.

You have to participate in many races, which are globally divided into five types:

1. Drag Racing - short distances, where you compete in speed, using all the power of an uprated engine, nitrous oxide, turbocharging and other racing pribludes.
2. Ring - in these competitions you must complete a certain number of circles.
3. Drift - this race will require excellent drift control.
4. Street X is a competition between cars, on a winding track, where you need to earn points on tight turns.
5. Professional league - these races are the most difficult. In them you will show your maximum driving skills, because here you will have to compete with the best racers.

And if you want to relax from the strenuous driving, you can compete with simple racing cars right in the city, without any restrictions. The game also features hidden races, during the passage of which you can get more rewards compared to the usual ones.

The only negative, in our opinion, is that there is little police that does not pursue violators. During the races, you will definitely not be disturbed, but when driving around the city, they may well start pursuing. Plus or minus, you decide, but our opinion is a flaw.

The main feature of Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a cool combination of an interesting plot, intense gameplay and amazing possibilities of tuning your car. You can make a real racing car that will literally tear your rivals on the track ... Until a moment.

And a few more words about the schedule - it may seem a little old to some, but it is not the main advantage. You can still enjoy the detailed at the time of the fictional city and its attractions, appreciate the blurring of landscapes during acceleration and more.

NFS: Underground 2 is a game for all time. Even championships and competitions were held on it, and this is one of the few races that have become a discipline in e-sports. Its exciting atmosphere will draw you in for more than one hour, so we think this kind of game will remain on your computer for a long time, especially since it will run on weak and medium PCs without problems.

9. TrackMania 2

In ninth place in the rating, we put TrackMania 2 - super extreme races with sharp turns and difficult tracks. The game features four themed episodes: Canyon, Stadium, Valley, and Lagoon. You can try your hand at driving on mountain roads, gorges, the island and off-road. The rivals who need to be overtaken, despite the danger of the track, will also add interest.

In TrackMania 2 you will completely plunge into the atmosphere of complex and dynamic races, take part in races on different tracks, perform tricks in different modes. This version of the game has drift, new maps, as well as multiplayer modes - "Race against time", "Race in a circle", "Stunts", "Cup", "Team" and "Round". As in other games of this genre, your main task is to break records, earn points and medals.

The ninth place in TrackMania 2 - for the ability to create your own roads, unrealistic speed, huge competition on the track in single player mode, and even cooler races in the game on the network.

8. DiRT 4

We decided to give the eighth place to DiRT 4 - dynamic rally races, in which you can "cut" all day long. Everything here is almost like in real off-road races - flying mud from under the wheels, sharp turns, the navigator mumbling into the microphone and suggesting the way.

DiRT 4 is a game created in full accordance with the rally racing genre. In the role of the main racer, you have to go through a huge number of tests with the navigator in the next seat. Twisting roads, terrible weather conditions, abysses along the edges of the roads - all this will not only interfere with you, but also affect the operation of the car. Damage to cars is reflected not only visually, with them your car will behave as befits a twisted piece of iron.

The whole point of the game is in the feelings and drive that perhaps one of the most hardcore types of racing gives - rally. The driver here has to drive off-road, dodge stones or drive into the forest, and all this at great speed, and sometimes even blindly. Fog, night, dust from under the wheels of rivals, forced to enter the turns, focusing only on the voice of the navigator.

In DiRT 4, you can adjust the difficulty of the passage, set the optimal control settings and connect the steering wheel. All this, together with stunning graphics, will truly take you to the race track.

The only thing that, in our opinion, lacks DiRT 4, is the sharpness of the plot. Perhaps the plot is not the main thing here, but for this, as well as for the high system requirements for the PC, we could not put the game higher than 8th place. Go ahead.

7. Driver: San Francisco

Next on our list is Driver: San Francisco, a slightly dated but still up-to-date police chase game. And here you will participate not in the role of a bully, chased by the police, but in the role of the policeman himself.

The plot of the game tells about a police officer named John Tanner, who caught the main villain of San Francisco named Charles Jericho. But as a result of the "tough plot twist" Jericho was free, and Tanner was in a coma. You will find yourself in the role of Tanner, and, without leaving a coma, you will chase criminals in cars.

Oddly enough, you can't get out of the car. But if the car is broken and cannot move, you can temporarily "move" into the body of another police officer and drive it. You must, without leaving a coma, catch the main villain, with all your "soul" helping your partners from the police station. Initially, you will explore a small section of San Francisco, but after a while the whole city will become available to you.

The main feature of Driver: San Francisco is the opportunity to try yourself as a police officer. Add here an interesting plot with a lot of dialogue, cool cars and exciting races - you get a very interesting and addictive game. In addition, there are many soundtracks, suitable for a specific moment and a good schedule even by today's standards.

6. Split / Second

In sixth place Split / Second is a game about gladiatorial battles on powerful cars, where there is no place for the losers. The game stands out from the general mass of "just racing" with its unusual gameplay, original idea and no less original execution.

In Split / Second, you will take part in gladiatorial battles in cars. Using deadly traps and choosing the most correct strategy, you will enter the struggle for life. Each section of the track must be passed with maximum concentration, because a carelessly passed turn or loss of control over a car during a skid will turn your car into a pile of iron.

The game's plot revolves around a TV show in which, like the movie "Death Race", racers will fight throughout the season to win the main prize - life and freedom. All competitions are held in a separately built city with many different traps that participants use to eliminate rivals.

Split / Second is such a Quake from the racing world. Here you need to know every corner of the map in order to build the most insidious and timely traps for the enemy. Unlike the "classics of the genre", being the first here is not always good, because all the rivals that are behind can easily knock a nearby TV tower or something else onto your hood.

At the very beginning, Split Second looks like a kind of chaos and anarchy, but then it's hard to break away from the game. Dynamic storyline, original idea and fiery gameplay - for this we award the game the sixth place. And let's move on to the top five.

5. Need for Speed: The Run

Opens five Need for Speed: The Run - the continuation of the classic Need for Speed ​​genre about the longest multi-day race from San Francisco to New York. But, unlike the previous parts, there is a storyline with elements of action - the main character can get out of the car, complete tasks and participate in the development of the plot.

Need for Speed: The Run consists of many races in different locations, striking with a change of scenery. You will have a long race through the known and unknown corners of the states through which the race passes. It will be quite difficult to get used to this, which only adds adrenaline - on the way you will find yourself on sandy tracks, in ice or a terrible downpour, police cars will chase you, your car will break down, and in general a lot of things will happen.

If you do not cope with the controls and crash the car into the trash, a new feature has been introduced into the game: instead of “reviving”, you can turn the time backward. Unfortunately, the justification for such an experiment with gameplay is not entirely clear - you will just be transported to the beginning of the previous checkpoint. If it's been long enough, this return may not be very pleasant.

Need for Speed: The Run is like a black sheep in the NFS series. There is a place for intense races, mesmerizing landscapes, an exciting plot and action in isolation from your car. At first you pay attention to small flaws in the form of not very comfortable handling and straightforwardness of the game, but then it fades into the background. The main thing is excellent graphics, dynamic and exciting races and everything is as it should be. That's why we love NFS.

4.F1 2017

Honorable fourth place goes to F1 2017 - the coolest version of "Racing Royal" available immediately on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. There have been many Formula 1 games, but this one is the best race of all that exists at the time of the rating release.

Therefore, for better handling and cool sensations, buy yourself a gaming wheel and put a large monitor - feel like Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel.

With each victory, you will earn money with which you can buy new cars. With the new F1 car, you will be able to participate in more prestigious races, then gradually reach the top of the league and compete with the most famous and titled pilots.

The main feature of F1 2017 is excellent physics. The behavior of the car is influenced by many factors: the type of suspension and rubber, weather, track, precipitation, even air humidity and much more. And the variety of cars is breathtaking - each car is unique, with its own advantages and disadvantages.

All this is the magic of Formula 1 - maximum realism and dynamics, powerful cars, a minimum of invented stories. What else do fans of this sport need? Even the network mode, and that is. You can compete with friends or other people, find out who is cooler on the track, and who will overtake everyone here. A must have for all Racing Royal fans and beyond. Moving on to the top three.

3. Need for Speed ​​Rivals

Bronze goes to Need for Speed ​​Rivals - furious races from cops or offenders, depending on which side you look at it from. If you want to drive on flat roads and long tracks on steep cars - this game is what you need.

Need for Speed ​​Rivals is an open-world, customizable car racing game. There are many different places on the map with tasks for police and street racers, competitions and races. In the garage, you can hide from the chase and pump your swallow a little. And if you win a lot, you will gradually get new opportunities and become the best guy in the area.

Need for Speed ​​Rivals is a completely new level of racing, which was achieved thanks to the Frostbite 3 engine. The same engine is used in Battlefield 3 and newer games - it shows a very high degree of realism along with detailed graphics and rendering. Therefore, all cars look very cool, as if they were "pulled" from the passenger compartment and sent to the track.

Need for Speed ​​Rivals is an open world full of adventure and adrenaline. Again, we recommend grabbing the wheel and plugging in a large monitor for the ultimate single player and online experience.

2. Project CARS 2

There is almost no plot in the game - Project CARS 2 is only racing, powerful racing cars, breathtaking tracks. And everything looks almost like in real life, and it feels as if you actually found yourself behind the wheel of a racing car on the most difficult track. And instead of a plot, you have 182 sports cars of different brands and models, 46 tracks with different weather conditions, stubborn rivals and fierce confrontation on the track.

The main thing in Project CARS 2 is realistic control, car dynamics and its behavior on the road in different weather conditions. In rain or ice, the car handles worse, turns are also handled differently, in collisions, damage is visible and controllability immediately decreases. In general, everything is like in life.

The only drawback is the high computer requirements, the game has the best graphics you have seen before. All this realism, dynamics and rendering requires a powerful video card and processor, a lot of RAM. But if you don't have any problems with this, and even a large monitor and even a steering wheel, you will fall in love with this amazing game immediately after launch. After all, sports cars are really chic.

1. Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012)

Gold of our rating goes to Need for Speed: Most Wanted - the second edition of the original game released in 2012, in a new wrapper and with a bunch of all sorts of chips. Let's say right away that our choice is ambiguous and someone may not understand it - after all, in the new part there are not many opportunities for which millions of people around the world literally fell in love with the original game.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) - is illegal racing (street racing), escapes from cops in cool cars, competition with other "night racers". There is practically no plot here, there are no main characters and villains, even the police do not stand out in anything special. But all this is not necessary - you will start the fight for the title of the best street racer in the city, take part in many races, get away from the police, and so on. Almost everything is as it should be.

Immediately, we note that there is almost no tuning in the game. If in the original part of 2005 it was possible to literally assemble a car and configure literally everything in it, then in this part there are no such opportunities.

You can get your car repaired and paint over by driving into the garage and supplying additional parts. But you don't need to tune anything - every car is already fully charged. Therefore, instead of the trivial grind of dollars and buying parts and consumables, you can fully focus on racing. Yes, you will not be able to put a cool spoiler and your favorite alloy wheels. But even without them, your car will look very cool. And if the car gets bored - challenge other racers to a duel, win and their car will go to you.

The basis of the game is not only constant races, but also competition with the police. And the cops are furious here: they intervene right in the middle of the race and start ramming, throwing spikes under the wheels and doing bad things in every possible way, while the rivals break away and fly to the finish line. To break away from the chase, they usually use trampolines or various obstacles, drive into the garage and repaint the car, but sometimes this cannot be done. And then you will see a magic inscription - "Spent".

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) is a real open world, as many people love. You can simply ride through the city streets, see everything properly and take part in random events, complete non-obvious but intriguing tasks, for example, knock down billboards or find hidden cars.And during the race, you can easily turn off the right road and get lost along the streets or outside the city - this is really discouraging. And only the GPS-navigator will show you how you can get back on the track. True, this is unlikely to help - the rivals will go ahead very quickly and you can no longer catch up with them.

The only thing that still saddens is not the 2005 game that we all fell in love with. Not that "Eron-don-don", with an incredibly attractive and exciting atmosphere. It's a pity, if you combine the atmosphere and possibilities of Most Wanted 2005 and the graphics and dynamism of Most Wanted 2012, you would get a masterpiece for all time.

We wanted to add more games to the rating. At the moment Diesel Guns is in "Early Access", and the first available version provides us with a Deathmatch mode, 3 locations for network battles, 4 vehicles (sports car, muscle car, something like a buggy and an SUV).

There are 5 types of weapons in the game (almost completely copied from Vigilante - here you have your own self-guided mortar, mines, missiles ...). Also, the player has access to nitro, jumps and the possibility of an enhanced landing for a blow - which became somewhat different from the original source.

The project is an ideological continuation of the classic 16-bit game Road Rash, in which we also rode motorcycles and beat opponents with various (mostly melee) weapons. Now our arsenal has increased significantly. So, in addition to pipes and baseball bats in every possible way, C4 explosives and other deadly things appeared in our arsenal.

Of course, every lawlessness has its own extreme line. And so that the riders do not cross it, the police will actively act in the game, who, however, can also be resisted by brute force. The game has several modes, including multiplayer for up to four players.

Crash Wheels

Crash Wheels is a physics-based arcade racing game where the main goal is to arrive before the finish line and not necessarily first. The whole game is the passage of about 25 levels with numerous obstacles, traps and sharp turns. In addition to obstacles on the track, rivals compete, who are trying to cut the car. I was also impressed by the fact that the car is completely damaged.

The disadvantages of the game are not significant - the lack of pumping or choosing a car and the frivolity of the project (a game in which you can just kill time, but nothing more). The game also has a mode in which you can simply drive around a large polygon and try out the physics of the car, although in the process of passing you will already see all possible damage models.

Wreckfest

Wreckfest is a fun racing survival game from the developers of FlatOut. The game is essentially in the spirit of old flatouts in terms of a career, but partly devoid of the fun part in the face of all kinds of custom pranks (bowling, long jump, high jump, rings of fire, etc.). Speaking of kneading, the damage is not only cosmetic - you can break the engine, gearbox, wheels, etc.

There are a lot of fences, tires and, of course, parts of opponents on the road - all this cheerfully scatters in different directions and already on the second lap the whole road is strewn with this rubbish, and on the third one the destroyed cars of the opponents are added to it. An extensive car park in the game with a lot of tuning options and much more.
