But there are also games that run in full 4K resolution. Eurogamer journalists decided to compile a list of all such projects and test them. At the same time, they found out that several games, which, judging by the statements, are executed in an honest 4K resolution, in fact, do not produce the corresponding picture, so they put them in a separate category.

As a result of testing, it turned out that only a dozen games are capable of being executed in 4K and at the same time delivering 60 frames / s, providing the most smooth and enjoyable gameplay. We are talking about the following products:

There are a number of games that can produce impressive 4K images at 60fps, but in some areas, the developers made compromises:

• (4K only applies to geometry);
• (dynamic scaling technology is used to reduce resolution in resource-demanding scenes);
• Farming Simulator 17 (sometimes the frame rate drops noticeably below 60 per second);
• Smite (dynamic scaling of resolution).

Of course, 60 fps is not always a requirement, so there are a number of games that are played in fair 4K resolution, but at 30 fps. The list may not be entirely complete (for example, the Parappa the Rapper demo works in this mode, but the full game has not yet been released):

• Assassin's Creed: the Ezio Collection trilogy;
• (there is also a 1800p mode at 60 fps);
• (there are modes 1080p and 1440p at 60 frames / s);
• The Elder Scrolls Online.

A few examples that are often claimed to be games played in full 4K, but in fact produce a picture at a lower resolution or using upscaling techniques such as a checkerboard:

• Darksiders Warmastered Edition (1620p resolution);
• Futuridium EP Deluxe (1080p - maybe a Pro patch will come out and add 4K support?);
• (2160p, but using checkerboard scaling);
• (1440p).

Of course, resolution is far from the only guarantee of a high-quality picture, and certainly not a guarantee of an excellent gameplay.
