Launch ps4 remote play without internet. How to run PS4 games on PC? Play various media files

PS4 Remote Play is an official program from Sony that allows Playstation 4 owners to play on the console remotely. The essence of the program is that it broadcasts an image from PS via the Internet. Accordingly, the quality of the "picture" that the user can count on is approximately comparable to that of popular streaming services. The maximum resolution of the broadcast picture is 720p (1080p on PS4 Pro), and the frame rate, depending on the game, can be thirty or sixty frames per second. On "desktop" Full HD screens, the 720p image will not look very presentable, but on small fifteen-inch and thirteen-inch laptops, playing via PS4 Remote Play is quite comfortable.

To play remotely, you will need to connect your Windows PC and PS4 itself to the network in any way. The officially declared connection speed at which the user will receive "honest" 720p is 12 Mbps. Please note that the connection must be stable, otherwise you run the risk of constantly seeing image freezes and a "crumbled" picture. Also, for the game, you will need to have a DualShock 4 controller and a miniUSB cable to connect the latter to your computer. Please note that before launching PS4 Remote Play, the console firmware will need to be updated to the latest version (requires 3.50 and higher).

In addition to the Windows version, the program is also available for Mac OS, Android and iOS. Users of all these platforms can download and use PS4 Remote Play for free.

A guide to using the wired and Bluetooth-enabled Dualshock 4 on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 systems.

Dualshock 4 from PS4 is perfect for playing on PC. It feels good to the touch, feels great in the hand, and has responsiveness that happens when it matters most - when using custom joysticks, when danger is approaching, and as a warning. And since, thanks to the ability to connect via Bluetooth, it is not at all necessary to connect it to the system unit with a wire, as is the case with Xbox 360 controllers and due to full compatibility with Steam products, it is nowhere more convenient to play on a computer with this controller.

Here's the best way to get your PS4 joystick to work on your PC using an extension called DS4Windows.

  • Dualshock 4 and micro-USB cable
  • Available:Dualshock 4 Bluetooth Wireless USB Adapter

Software:

  • DS4Windows
  • Microsoft .NET version 4.5
  • Xbox 360 controller connection driver (Windows 7 only)

Step 1. Download the above utilities starting with Microsoft .NET. If you have Windows 7, then install the driver to connect the Xbox 360 controller. Windows 8 and 10 already have it installed.

Step 2(very important): connect your Dualshock 4 to your computer with a micro-USB cable (if not compatible, try using a USB 3.0 port. Dualshock 4's are really weird) now you can install DS4Windows for everything else.

Bluetooth Setup Note: If you want to use the controller wirelessly, simply plug your Bluetooth adapter into your computer and pair with the controller. Just hold down the Share buttons and the center round button at the same time until the light on the controller lights up, then hold down the adapter until it lights up too. Once both lights are on, the joystick will communicate with the computer in a few seconds.

Step 3: If you only want to play Steam games on your Dualshock 4, congratulations, you're done! In 2016, Steam began to fully support this controller, so once everything is connected, you can start.

But just make sure that the controller is already connected when you enter Steam or open the game from there, otherwise the system will not recognize it. If you're having trouble logging in, closing and reopening the program should help. Next, we will look at how to use the controller and software DS4Windows for non-Steam games.

Step 4: Download the latest DS4Windows .zip archive (v1.4.109 at the time of writing), save it in a new folder, and unzip it using WinRAR, 7-Zip, or another archiver of your choice. There will be two applications - DS4Updater and DS4Windows. Since you have the latest version, Updater can be skipped for now.

Step 5: open DS4Windows and there you will see the Controllers tab. All controllers that you have connected are reflected there. Once you connect (or pair via Bluetooth) your joystick, it will be listed there. If it is not there, close the program, reconnect, open the program again. Don't worry about assigning an ID number to the controller, you won't need it.

Step 6: Open the Settings tab in DS4Windows to set up a few things. Make sure the Hide DS4 Controller box is checked. This will prevent DS4Windows from conflicting with any underlying controller settings. For the same reason, make sure Use Xinput Ports is set to one.

Once the program is installed, the DS4Windows icon will appear on your desktop. In the settings tab, you can choose whether to launch it every time again or have it run in the background. You can also update DS4Windows in the same tab by clicking on Check for Update at the bottom left. In addition, here you can see if all controller drivers are installed. In which case, the drivers can also be installed right here.

DS4Windows recognizes your Dualshock 4 as if it were an Xbox 360 controller. By default, there is a default key preset. So immediately after installing Dualshock 4, the program should behave like an Xbox 360 controller, that is, work with any game supported by Xinput - that is, with any. And this also does not mean that not every game will offer you a standard layout of Square/Cross/Triangle/Circle. Some of them will have a choice. Look in the settings.

This does not mean that you need to reprogram something, but if you want to change some buttons or add sensitivity to the controller, it is possible. Open the Profiles tab in DS4Windows. I'm not advocating creating a completely new profile, but you can do so by clicking New to start. In general, it is much easier to edit the DualShock 4 settings.

This tab may seem complicated, but it really isn't. Let's say you want to swap the metas of the fire buttons. To get started, find L1/R1 and L2/R2 in the list of suggestions in the Controls section, or simply click on them on the virtual controller.

This will open another confusing, but really simple page. Just press the button you want to play instead, for example, L1. Voila, now your left fire key will perform the function of accelerating. Repeat this pericyte with the rest of the buttons so you don't miss anything and at the same time avoid confusion. You can save this preset as a separate profile and switch between them as needed.

If you have followed all the steps above to establish a wireless connection, then you should be working with the controller in wireless mode. Plus, you don't have to pair the controller with your computer every time you want to use it. If you don't unplug the adapter, it will remember the last connection, so updating it is as simple as pressing the Playstation's central button on the controller.

The official Sony Dualshock 4 USB wireless adapter does a great job with Bluetooth connectivity. But you have to hunt for it or overpay for shipping, but it's definitely worth it, the functionality is impressive.

In version 3.5, among other features, it was possible to stream games from PlayStation 4 to PC, in a similar way as it was done in PS Vita. Setting up a broadcast is not as difficult as it might seem, and in this guide we will show you how to do it.

To work with Remote Play, you need the following minimum set:

  • Computer (PC or Mac);
  • PS4 console;
  • Dualshock4 controller;
  • Micro-USB cable;
  • Sony Entertainment Network account;
  • High speed connection - for best result It is recommended to connect the console and PC directly via an Ethernet cable.

What about PC requirements?

PC users will need:

    Windows 8.1 or Windows 10;

    Processor Intel Core i5-560M or higher;

Mac owners will need:

    OS X Yosemite or OS X El Capitan

    Processor 2.4 GHz i5-520M or better;

Please note that for a stable stream, the connection speed between PC and PS4 must be at least 12Mbps.

Step by step instructions for setting up:

    Refresh system software PS4 up to version 3.5;

    Install the Remote Play App for Windows PC or Mac on your PC;

    Make sure your PS4 is set as your primary system - go to Settings > PSN/Account > Activate PS4 as Primary;

    Launch the Remote Play app on your PC;

  • Click Start - the program will automatically search for the console. If it is not detected in this way, use the manual setting;

  • Next, in the PS4 settings, you will need to add a new remote playback device - the console will generate a special code for you, which you will need to enter on your PC / Mac;

Setup completed. Don't forget to connect your DualShock 4 controller via USB and enjoy your favorite games!

Opinions about the new feature were divided, but we, having tried it, were rather disappointed. Purely visual translation of any graphically modern game on the computer loses too much due to restrictions in permissions. It is worth using Remote Play in cases where you urgently need to watch or show some game, say, on a laptop. If you want to get real pleasure from it - play straight from PS4.

Allowing you to stream games from your console to a Mac or Windows PC. For the first time, Sony promised the possibility of remote gaming on computers using Remote Play last year, but the service was launched only now.

PlayStation 4

The first thing to do is to update the firmware on the PlayStation 4 to version 3.5 or newer. This is the main condition. You will also need an active PSN account.

The console must be connected to a fast Internet connection for a reliable image stream. Sony recommends using a connection with a speed of at least 12 Mbps. Minimum requirement– 5 Mbps. Otherwise, there may be noticeable delays in the operation of Remote Play.

Windows

The Remote Play function is available on Windows 8/8.1 (32 or 64 bit), Windows 10 (32 or 64 bit) and later operating systems. Minimum system requirements include 2.67 GHz Intel Core i5-560M or higher processor with at least 2 GB of RAM. You will also need 100 MB of hard disk space and a high-speed Internet connection.

Mac

Mac owners will need OS X Yosemite or OS X El Capitan, a 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-520M processor, at least 2GB of RAM, and 40MB of hard drive space. Just like on a PC, you need a fast Internet connection (at least 5 Mbps). You need to control games using the DualShock controller connected to the computer via a USB cable.

Setting

If all conditions are met, you can download Remote Play from this link. Go to PS4 settings, then PSN/Account > Activate PS4 as primary. After that, under Settings > Remote Play connection settings, activate Remote Play.

Go back to your PC and launch the Remote Play app. Here you can select image options. The maximum resolution in which the picture will be transmitted is limited to 720p, and the frame rate is 60 fps (default settings: 540p and 30 fps, respectively).

To pair with PS4, you need to add a new remote playback device in the console settings. The console will generate a special code that must be entered into the Remote Play program on the PC. Now it remains to connect Dualshock to the computer and you can play.

By the way, the new firmware 3.50 brought a lot of other new features. These include notifications when friends go online, a quick check on PlayStation Network status, content streaming on Dailymotion, and Scheduled Events.

In addition, the new OS will have an "invisible" mode that allows you to set the status to offline. This feature will be useful when the user is playing alone, watching a movie and does not want to be interrupted by annoying prompts.

One of the obvious benefits PlayStation consoles 4 is the Remote Play function, which allows you to play your favorite games not only on the TV screen, but also using a PS Vita or a Sony model smartphone.

It turns out that's not all - some hackers have come up with a way to run the same function on any Android device running version 4.2 or higher.

So, you can play, for example, Spelunky on Nexus 7 or Far Cry 4 on the HTC One screen. Impressive, isn't it?!

So, step by step guide to the action in front of you:

  • Step #1

First, you need to download this APK file to your Android device and install it. You then need to launch this app and select "Skip" when the screen prompts you to register your Dualshock 4.

  • Step #2

Turn on your PS4 console, enter the settings menu and find "Remote Play Connection Settings" or "Remote Play Connection Settings". Select "Add Device" or "Add Device" to get the code.

  • Step #3

Return to your Android device, tap on the "Next" screen, and then select "Skip". As a result, you will be taken to a page with a text entry box. You need to enter the code you received into it. Don't worry - you won't have to do this every time. If your device is already registered with the PS4, you can connect by simply selecting "Next" in the app.

  • Step #4

Once the connection is established, you will see the PS4 splash screen on your device screen. You can now use virtual buttons for navigation, and the three standard Android icons at the bottom of the screen will become Share, Options, and Home buttons.

  • Step #5

If you want to use the Dualshock 4 controller, then you should know that your device must be rooted for this. If so, then all you need to do is download the manager app and then move the APK to /system/app/ and then change the permissions to RW-R-R. To make it work, restart your device.
